      Quessinf you as most people have the issues with there return on your serve. Tip is to serve fast serve with no spin to all over there short pimp side so you get a "normal" return where you can do a aggresive loop on the 3rd ball.

    Nice as usual! When Im training regularly, I prefer this kind of opponents (with short or long pimples) since I tend to have more control on the game and try to win it slowly. When Im a little out of training, I prefer regular inverted rubbers for them, since I can't control the ball as much and miss easy ones, so I must go for shorter rallies.

    Those short pips ( TSP Spin pips Blue) look very bouncy and spinny, and very likely more sensitive to incoming spin. Would have preferred to see how he plays with Friendship 802.

    Thanks Alois, these detailed explanations are exactly what I was looking for. I was often overwhelmed when I had to play against material players, because nobody in my club plays this stuff. One more question: does it really make sense to play mainly on the material side, as this is usually the "weaker" side?

    • @pingskills
      @pingskills  8 месяцев назад +2

      Great question. Which side to play to really does depend on each opponent. As they are using the pimples all the time it might not always be the weaker side. I think this is something you need to work out for each player. Glad you liked the video.

    When I backhand push or chop to a short pimple player the ball goes back very high and the short pips player just smashes and wins the point. How Shd I backhand push?? Or Shd I try backhand drive and not push n chop?

    Thanks a lot. What about short pips players playing the pips on their forehand? I struggle a lot against them. It feels like they can attack every ball coming to their forehand. How to beat them? Appreciate it

    • @pingskills
      @pingskills  8 месяцев назад

      Great question. We might add this topic to our list for a future video. I think most of the principles in this video still apply. See if you can play using heavy backspin or topspin when going to their forehand. Also if you think there forehand is the strongest side consider playing more to the backhand. Sometimes you need to go wide to their forehand first and then you'll be able to get the next ball into their backhand. Hope this helps. Good luck!

  • @Theunbe
    @Theunbe 2 месяца назад +1

    So in your situation the player plays with short pips on both sides of the rubber? I usually encounter people who have one side of normal and one side of pips. Makes you focus extra harder.

    • @pingskills
      @pingskills  2 месяца назад +2

      No, you are right. In most cases the player uses short pips on the backhand. There are a few players though who do use short pimples on both sides.

    Hi, do you have any method of how to Chop the balls coming from Short pips? I'm a Chopper and I find quite hard to chop with my inverted on Forehand against this fast and flatter hits coming from Short Pips, but when I could Chop them, the next ball becoming bit easier cause my opponent would rather lift the chop with his Short Pips rather than hit it flat but when the receiving not much backspin or quite high he could easily flat hit back to me. My opponent is using Short Pips or Medium Pips with sponge on his Forehand. I find it a bit easier to chop on my backhand using longpips. I might need your instruction what I should pay attention when chopping especially using inverted on my Forehand, I'm a typical classic defensive style, Fh and Bh chops with attacks, thanks so much

    To be honest as a short pimple player it's a lot easier for me to return heavy topspin with the pips instead of an inverted rubber.

    • @pingskills
      @pingskills  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for sharing. It certainly might be easier for you to do this with short pimples but would when using the short pimples do you prefer a topspin with just a little bit of spin or a really heavy topspin? Which of those two is harder with the short pimples?

    • @Joygulplay
      @Joygulplay 8 месяцев назад

      @pingskills Well, it really depends to be honest. The heavy topspin is a harder shot to return in general, so even if I was to play with inverted rubbers, I would always prefer a topspin with less spin. But specifically for me. With the short pimples, I don't have to close my racket as much as I have to with the with the inverted rubber because the ball doesn't bounce as much and because of that it's easier to adjust to return a heavy topspin with the pimples instead of an inverted rubber. For me personally, the hardest shots I find hard to return with the pimples are very low strong topspins because when the ball is low and fast and doesn't have spin I can't lift the ball up and it often goes to the net. Rather, if the ball has a lot of spin but it's high, it's easier to counter with the pimples. But the main disadvantage when people play really strong topspins against my pimples is as you said in the video the ball returns with no spin after and I'm personally using the Blowfish pimples and with them the ball returns really fast with no spin against these shots. So I think really the best case is, if the player doesn't feel confident enough with his topsins to play slower spiny topspins but it's important for them to be low because the short pimple players in general are good at attacking all kind of high balls no matter the spin and the lower balls is their main weakness.
      Now, these are all my personal thoughts. I'm not a professional player and I'm talking from personal experience so I could be wrong.

    It should be forbidden or have catergory for itself. Its just boring, not good looking and the only guy who is enjoying it is the guy who plays it and has bad technique on either forehand oder backhand to play normal rubers. That was is and will be always a fact.

    • @Listermintsluesh
      @Listermintsluesh 8 месяцев назад +1

      No way. Look at the top short pip hitters. Amazing power and directness. All off the bounce, quick reflexes and speed. One could also argue that reverse rubbers, especially the fast modern ones, only offer one pace, of which is very fast.

    • @pingskills
      @pingskills  8 месяцев назад +1

      A lot of people have this attitude. I think it's a part of the game and the more you play against these types of rubbers the better you will do against them.
