    How does that motor compare to the vxl upgrade besides price ? I want it for drift set up.

    Hey, so I put the front and rear foam tires on and they won’t move when screwed on. Same size foam tires too

    Do you think the TC6 shocks would fit on there? AE has lots of spring options, comes in handy when running larger lipos .

    Wow those braces look crazy but I bet they will stiffen it up nicely for you. Hope you get some nice weather soon to put a few speed runs in. Liked. I should look at getting the 9mm hubs myself and maybe a few other upgrades for mine.

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  7 лет назад

      Hold fire on the 9mm hexs. Amazon says they have them in stock but then GPM fails to fill the order as they're out of stock. I'm wondering how much it'd be to get them made in bulk?

    So I am stiffening things up with the GPM braces but also came across the Traxxas sway bar kit. Would using the two together be worthless or are their benefits to having both installed?

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  4 года назад

      I went with GPM for everything, i am thinking using the traxxas sway bar kit at the same time might be overkil

    Still loving these videos! My 4 Tec 2.0 is arriving tomorrow and I'm about to order some upgrades, starting with bearings, to begin the process of converting it. However before I do that I'm going to try and get some baselines. What was the top speed you manged box stock, with the speed gearing? How fast have you gone with the new Mamba setup and 6s (if you have run it on 6s yet)? Also do you have a link to who is selling that switch mount?

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  6 лет назад +1

      Hitman! I went with ceramic bearings all round. Not cheap BUT the single best upgrade I did on the 4tec. If you search my videos on '4tec' it should pull up the first speed run (Stock out the box) I did. 83 on new setup but having to shut down so early, think it's got 100 in it for sure. Finding a good safe speed run spot is an issue here in CA. 4-5lbs weight at even 60mph is a risk. Always, always think about others. I've driven out numerous times, people around? Pack up, go home, there's always tomorrow, or the next day. Will look up the switch mount, I got it off one of the guys on the 4tec facebook page. Also go for the mamba x! Sidewinder overheats on 3S!

    • @HitmanSVT
      @HitmanSVT 6 лет назад

      Definitely going for the Mamba! looking forward to that switch info so I can go ahead and pick it up!

      Brian, it's 18F here tonigth and I'm chomping at the bit to test it. New body pillars came tonight so I can slam that new speed run body to the ground. Test on 3/4/6S coming up. It's dialed in just awaiting good weather.

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  7 лет назад

      Wiht the mamba x in it and the ceramic bearings bedded in it's still been okay to touch the can at the end of a run, If it drys up and stops snowing I'll stick the temp recorder/sensors on.

    Should I use the stabilized bar for the back or should I do both front and back?

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  4 года назад

      Back it the most essential one as that stops the full throttle 'death wobble'. It's all very, very well made from GPM so I'd fit the front if funds allow

    Just a quick comment to pick your knowledge.... i am interested in buying the 4tec 2.0 as i have heard they are awesome drifters.. only problem i have is that i DO NOT wanna be the typical knobhead with a tuner car shell on that every1 else has (subaru, nissan etc) as nice as they are)) instead i want to go ALL AMERICAN RATROD with a chopped to hell front end. Only problem i have encountered is ratrods tend to narrow at the forepart... is there a way to make it fit. Or am i gonna have to buy a truck cover to modify.

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  5 лет назад

      Joe I have to say I like your idea BUT I'm sure on the body, basics of it are any 200mm shell will fit, I have a feeling that you're going to have to modify something quite a bit to get the look you want. Love old American muscle BTW. I've tried drifting this one in a lower spec of tune and it handled very well on drift tires.

    Does the rear brace work as advertised? I can't get behind the science behind it from just looking at it. The arm should be a "V" shape for stability just like the front brace (or upper control arm) gpm makes... at least I would think.

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  6 лет назад

      It stops virtually all the rear wheel 'shake'

      Luckily I just looked on GPM's site, and they have a new version, the very design I had in my head. Part# GT049RA
      I'm sure the first version helps, but I was baffled why they didn't make it a triangle... a strong shape

    • @DriftomaniacsRC

      Adam I think I used the gpm ones - if it came with them I would have fitted them in. Car runs on ceramic bearings all round though, even the steering!

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  6 лет назад +1

      Now expand on that? I've changed the oil but I'd have thought that changing gthe shocks themselves would be a leter job to do. This is mainly modded for outright speed handling and putting the power down/
