I love this knife. I was never a fan of natural g10, or coated blades, but I love m4, and the look just grew on me. unfortunately, no too long ago, I had to send it back because of a broken spring. In fact, my 940-2 had to be sent back 3 times for broken springs. I've never had this happen with any of my other benchmades, and they've been flipped thousands and thousands of times over the years. for some reason, the 940 model has been bad luck for me
Snap crackle, that sucks. I've had decent luck with this model myself, but I will admit to not carrying it as much as my Bugouts (among other fun knives). I've flipped my favorite Bugout guaranteed over 10,000 times and no problemo with omega springs to date.
Got mine a few days ago. I have to admit I wasnt to fond of it at first. Was small to me, and hard to get sharp. But once I got it smoothed out by flipping it and got it sharp I now love it! Now I'm going to save and get a original 940!
Yeah, I've found Benchmades take several hundred flicks to get smoothed out, but when they do...they are nice...And I've also gotten mixed sharpness out of the box too - I guess the silver lining to that is knowing a human finished the process :-).
Absolutely call benchmade for warranty of your omega spring - it's one reason we pay the butterfly tax - for a reasonable warranty. For my part, I have literally flipped my 20CV Bugout open and closed over 5,000 times with no hint of a problem - we'll see how it fares over the years ahead...
Uh oh - error in the video! The blade coating is cerakote, which is significantly more corrosion resistant than PVD - makes it an even more compelling grab! Update: This one is going to be generally released on BladeHQ (www.bladehq.com/item--Benchmade-M4-940-Osborne-AXIS-Lock--114142) on Wednesday 12/9/2020 at 10:00am Mountain Time. I imagine them selling out quickly - so set yourself an alarm on your phone.
Hi enjoyed video-I have a bunch of benchmade knives. I contacted them to ask when this one was coming out so I didn’t miss it like some others I liked and wanted to add to my collection but the young lady on the phone could not answer when I could get it? Almost thinking of getting something different but I do love my benchmades! Not sure why you can’t order or know when they are coming out? Thanks. Have a good day

Hi. Thank you to all that replied. I did end up buying it for my collection but its stuck at the post office and may not get it for another month or so my wife told me.
In my case it was an accidental error - not any sort of preferential treatment...I was trolling BHQ late in the evening when I think they were loading in new/upcoming knives on the web site. The 940 popped up with the add to cart option for a very small window and they honored my purchase.
*BLADE HQ has nothing to do with how grippy or slippery G10 is on a blade hq exclusive knife. Each company they collaborate with does G10 their own way whether they buy it or produce it. Benchmade is notorious for slippery G10 and micarta. Spyderco is notorious for grippy G10. I love benchmade, but I won't buy any of their knives with G10 ever again for that reason. I'm not a huge fan of spyderco, but I love their G10. As far as Civivi goes I've only owned a elementum with micarta which was exactly how you think micarta should feel in hand. After that I wouldn't mind checking out one of their knives in G10.*
Good to know - I wasn't sure exactly what parameters BHQ places on their Jade G10 exclusive editions. So yeah, I agree with you that Benchmade could have done frequent users a favor with some more texture (like the standard aluminum handled one with the dusted texture).
I agree value isn't the first word that comes to mind when thinking about Benchmade. But the more knives I handle, I also don't think they are the worst value. Thanks for stopping by.

Man I’m so reluctant on buying another axis lock knife. I have a mini freek and a spring broke on me after barely a month.
Wow that's nuts. I've used my grip for 2 and a half years everyday and not an issue. Should be a free warranty repair on yours.

is this a limited run ? just ordered one today, cant wait to get it in
Blade HQ exclusive so yes it's limited, but they aren't saying how many there were made for them.
As well, a new batch released the last week of December 2020, so check back for one if you didn't get the first round.
They still have them in stock right now.
@@YNTGUNS i hear it is so popular that they made it a permanent item in their shop (or at least it seems that way)

@@MitchBollig You bastard. I would have done the same thing...
