As much as I love Cher, I think that Glenn Close deserved that award for Fatal Attraction. I mean, this was literally her best performance. Cher should have won for her previous nomination in Slikwood.
The 80s were the time when Sally field was in its best...one my favorite actresses of all time.. waiting for a lot of videos about this period...keep it up 👏🏻
I agree and I want to clarify that Harold Russell is actually the first disabled actor to win an acting Oscar (twice funnily enough) for "The Best Years of Our Lives." That said it truly is incredible to see Matlin earn her well deserved award and Kotsur win all these years later
@@theweekndpain6237 Yes she was indeed. Jennifer Lawrence comes in close second as she was just a few months older that Marlee was when she won her own Oscar
Love all these incredible actresses. All of them are legends. I especially happy for Marlee who for now the one deaf actor who get Oscar in leading role. Also Salie Field such a wonderful performer in all her roles, I like that in her movies she not often has these big emotional scenes, but you will remember her characters forever
My favorite performances: Sally Field in Norma Rae, Sissy Spacek in Coal Miner's Daughter, Meryl Streep in Sophie's Choice, Shirley MacLaine in Terms of Endearment, Marlee Matlin in Children of a Lesser God and Jodie Foster in The Accused.
When the movie Sophie's Choice came out in fourty years ago and I think it was in December 1982 and it was right after I was born in November 1982. When I was a baby and started watching the Oscars.
1982: Jessica Lange - Frances 1984: Judy Davis - A Passage To India 1985: Whoopi Goldberg - The Color Purple 1986: Kathleen Turner - Peggy Sue Got Married 1987: Meryl Streep - Ironweed 1988: Glenn Close - Dangerous Liasons 1989: Michelle Pfeiffer - The Fabulous Baker Boys A few of my 80's should have won's....
The Oscar has been around for 92 years but it could be counted on one hand how many performance could match that of Meryl Streep's. Other performances that I think are equal to Streep's are: Vivien Leigh ( Gone With the Wind) Elizabeth Taylor ( Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf) Ellen Burstyn ( Requiem For A Dream. She was totally robbed in 2001)
Katherine Hepburn es la historia del cine con 21 nóminaciones y 4 Oscars 🎬 y Meril Strip con 12 nóminaciones y 2 Oscars... Todas ellas ya forman parte de la historia del cine

I was about to say that!!
I am really sad that amazing actress like Glenn Close probably won't win competitive Oscars. I hope she will.
I’m a big Glenn Close fan and I’m biased. Glenn should have won back to back with Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaison…
More for Dangerous Liaisons

2:36 The moment when you discover that Troy Costur wasn't the first disable actor to win the Award , and goddamn how deserved it was .
And you figure out marlee played his wife in CODA 😂 Plus I think she was the youngest to win best actress ever

@@theweekndpain6237 was gonna disagree because of Tatum O'Neal but she won best supporting actress. still remarkable that she won at 10 years old

I still cant believe Marlee Matlin wasnt nominated for Best Supporting Actress in CODA
Honestly the best decade of winners

Wahat music name in this video? Ask me please🙏
Ekkaïa, by Franck Barré !
What is the name of the music ?

Sigourney Weaver should've won. NOT Marlee Matlin.
Glenn Close should've won. NOT Cher
