Can we just agree how magically he managed to maneuver from La La Land to Moonlight and how that theatre scene atleast somewhat was related to the real situation
And then from Moonlight to The Shape of Water. Simply a genius
Fuck No!
I absolutely agree!! This person should get calls from production companies
😂 Can’t believe you did La La Land like that. Using Gosling/Stone scene like that was nice.
Can't believe Gladiator and Chicago are on the thumbnail.
@@jessebolt8526 why? (Not trying to start an argument, but genuinely curious if these movies are considered bad?)
@@jessebolt8526 because it was a Best Picture winner and this video is a tribute about Best Picture winners. Granted, it's all because of Harvey Weinstein but If you have any problem, talk to the Academy. IF they would entertain you. The most disgraceful part of these winners are Crash and Green Book. That's what you should be whining about.
@@elijahsackville-glucksburg This is as obvious as the fact that there are almost 100 Best Picture Oscar Winners. Several winners that could be on the thumbnail instead.
@@jessebolt8526 Why? Chicago and Gladiator aren't worthy to be on the thumbnail?
That La La Land and Moonlight transition was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Genius!!!
Thank you ! 🙏
The Lord of the Rings remains the greatest piece of art of the century. Such a complete, warm and nostalgic. One of a kind.
One of the most underrated accounts related to movies🙌
Thank you so much 🙏
Ugh. This never gets old. The Lalaland x Moonlight transition should win an Oscar!!
I burst into tears when LOTR came on. Oof such an achievement in film.
Every time someone talks about those films I think of all the great cinema that probably wasn't made because of those giant Money Black Holes.
Same
Same thoughts
Me too (I’m a kiwi ...). I still remember watching the oscars that year, and sort of fell asleep in the middle, then woke up and there was kiwi guy up on stage doing accepting an oscar (for one of the sound categories). and I was like, ‘wait, I know him, he had afternoon tea at my house a few months ago!’ (I had been part of a nz documentary and had a film crew follow me around for a few days...my mum insisted on making them afternoon tea and so they ended up hanging out at my place chatting for quite a few hours. ....turned out the sound guy had also worked on LOTR).
Same man
11:52 Guillermo's reaction to show that the envelope do says the name of his movie still cracks me up. "Hey! It does says Shape of water!"
It started with american beauty and ends with parasite. 2 perfect movies in my eyes! So glad about them winning best picture. The parasite winning moment was history making! Thank you Academy for this! ❤️
These editing skills are inhuman
"...Oh sorry Moonlight!" I am glad to see this again
4:02: one of biggest mistakes ever! I love Crash, but Brokeback Mountain is the real winner!!!
Brokeback Mountain is definitely 💯% a real winner
You're just gay
LGTB detected
@@miguelrivera9599 So? Brokeback Mountain is a perfectly crafted film, im sorry if your hatred does not allow you to see it.
@@jakob9585 Since when do we have to be gay to prefer Brokeback Mountain over Crash?
The lord of the rings gave me shivers. So amazing
I cried when seeing the eyes of the little boy in Slumdog Millionaire, the eyes of the hanging slaves in 12 years a slave, the eyes of the father in Parasite, and the eyes of the people on the plane in Argo…
One thing about Argo is that I wish I could've seen that "sci-fi film" they were going to make
Dark Knight should've won.
This is great man, I love how you handled the La La Land/Moonlight mix up, was not expecting that!
Thanks my friend ! 🔥
Brokeback mountain should’ve beat crash and no one will ever convince me otherwise
I agree. Just like BlacKKKlansman should have won Best Picture against Green Book.
@@daveteves or any film that year- Roma, The Favorite. Any film should've won instead of Green Book
Crash sucks
Honestly, any of the other nominees that year would have been a better choice.
Personally (and honestly), I prefered The Social Network to King's Speech AND The Revenant to Spotlight
If there is an Oscar for best RUclips video about the Oscars, you will win it for sure. Once again, great video.
🙏
Love Clint Eastwood more than anyone in the industry alive today.
There should be a national day of mourning the day Clint leaves this world
I love how you put La La Land there. As the kiss is about to happen. The Academy said it's a mixup because Moonlight actually won Best Picture. That's great and I love it.
Thanks !
I don't know why I'm crying. I grew up watching Slumdog Millionaire over and over and when it flashed to the screen I just bawled my eyes out.
I can trade my life if Crash can be replaced by Brokeback Mountain
I strongly disagree
One of the things I loved about Chicago was how damn good Catherine was as a singer
I swear I literally waited for this for the last month
What the hell was that?! I started to cry the second I heard "for Frodo" line and after that I let my tears go. From the start to the end it was a perfect video... Congratulations you have a new follower sir!
Thanks ! I'm glad you like my content, and I will try to not disappoint you ;)
For Frodo

Louder! 💕
Well, LoTR is not even top 50 ffs... I can name many movies better than LoTR.... Hollywood mainstream big-budget shit bows down in front of Arthouse cinema.
Goosebumps, goosebumps and goosebumps...
Everytime❤️
I'm glad you like it 🔥
I still get thrills when I see Jane Fonda announcing Parasite as the winner and its crew celebrating. Amazing 10000 times!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
my OSCARS Best Picute are:
The Silence of the Lambs
Slumdog Millionaire
Parasite
but I love them all😍
This video was unexpectedly emotional. I teared up at quite a few of these. Thank you.
I'm pretty sure you've out done yourself this time, well done. The Academy should hire you to be their editor.
I specially loved the beginning, the La La Land/Moonlight mix up, and this shot you included (4:55). Thank you for the video!
Thanks ! 🙏
Yeah i love this shot of Scorsese :D
Your editing is top notch. Very well done.
Do 1980-1999 series next. Those were the best 20 years for cinema, especially the 90s.
90s is also my favorite decade in terms of cinema!
90s was too good to be exact. For me, the best decade would have been the 60s followed by the 90s. But yes, Movies like Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction, The Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, Trainspotting, Reservoir Dogs, Being John Malkowich, Matrix, American Beauty, Usual Suspects, Dances with Wolves, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, The Truman Show, Se7en, Primal Fear, 12 monkeys, The Sixth Sense, Before Sunrise, Fargo, The Silence of the Lambs, Unforgiven, L.A Confidential were very good.... But that was not it... We also had movies from other countries like Sátántangó from Hungary, La Haine, Beau Travail from France, Italy gave us Life is Beautiful, Japan gave us many Studio Ghibli movies, Hong Kong gave us a fair few great ones like Farewell my Concubine, Comrade, Fallen Angels... China also had some good ones and so did my own country, India. And then we move to Taiwan with A Brighter Summer Day and finally Iran with Taste of Cherry, Through the Olive trees, The Wind will carry us, Life and nothing more and Close Up. Even Poland came up big time with Kieslowski.... His colours trilogy and double life of Veronique were very good....
My personal favourites would be
10) Pulp Fiction
9) Goodfellas
8) Princess Mononoke
7) Farewell, my Concubine
6) Colours trilogy
5) Schindler's List
4) Sátántangó
3) A Brighter Summer Day
2) Close Up
1) La Haine
Este video es precioso.
Quizás algunas otras eran más merecedoras, pero de todas formas estas películas son arte.
Excelente video, amé lo de La la land
Here are my favorite movies from the 2000s, which were Best Picture nominees; some were Best Picture winners:
5. "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (2008)
4. "Gladiator" (2000)
3. "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" (2002)
2. "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" (2001)
1. "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (2003)
'Your' personal favourite movies from 2000s that were nominated are shit. Curious Case is good. Gladiator is shit. LoTR is very good.... But where is Moonlight and Parasite?
"To each their own" Siddharth. "Moonlight" and "Parasite" came out in the 2010s, not the 2000s. Ridley Scott directed four of my favorite films:
4. "Exodus: Gods and Kings" (2014)
3. "Blade Runner" (1982)
2. "Alien" (1979)
1. "Gladiator" (2000)
@@smit4459 First, Sorry, I didn't see the 2000s being mentioned... I thought you're talking about 2000-2020. Blade Runner is the only good Ridley Scott movie, Alien is like above average. And I personally feel that the best movies of 2000s have been foreign cinema. But yes, they never won the best picture Oscar. Parasite did though. If only this was implemented some years ago, many other deserving movies would have got it. Like just think Gladiator in 2000 was up against world cinema like In the mood for Love, Yi Yi, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Requiem for a dream, Almost Famous..... So if all countries were included, I doubt Gladiator would've won it.
Thanks for reminding us of all these unforgettable movies
Awesome presentation. I got shivers watching it. Well done!
Thanks a lot! I've some others Oscar videos if you want to check 😊
Me too!!
Great video!! I enjoyed it and reminded me when I was a teenager until now. And Kubrick’s quote at the end 👌🏻
Yo I did not think that was a belly button in the thumbnail lmao 💀
The Artist, such a beauty of a film and so many people who havn´t seen it.
cheers
10:50 - 11:10 should've won an Oscar for best Editing!
I'm Japanese. The video is very well edited and directly conveys the emotions of the producers and characters. I am thankful that through this video I became interested in the Academy's work and found some good films. Thanks for putting it together.
ありがとう 🙏
I love Japanese cinema..... Akira Kurosawa, Yasuziro Ozu and Kenji Mizoguchi mainly.... And I also love Studio Ghibli's animated movies. Japanese cinema is very good.... One of the best movie industries in the world.
My top of this age winners:
1. Parasite.
2. American Beauty.
3. The Departed.
4. Moonlight.
5. Gladiator.
You miss Lord of The Rings
@@EricMasini (To me) it would be in the top ten.
Moonlight 😕
Mine would be:
5. Million Dollar Baby
4. No Country For Old Men
3 The Departed
2. Spotlight
1. Birdman
You have definitely not seen No Country for Old Men
Finally you made this thank you. Your videos are amazing.

Man, thank you so much for this!!! This is a brilliantly directed montage with impeccably stunning editing. The background score, the speeches, the announcement of the winners, the snippet of the movie seamlessly came together, and made us relive those moments.

My fave video on youtube 😭😭 ur editing is amazing!!!
Thank you so much 🙏
1) La La Land it’s one of my favorite movies and it’s special to me due to person reasons, even though moonlight deserved best picture and La La Land was added to this video due to the mistake that happened in 2017, I feel like your video made such a great tribute to both movies and put those movies together when it comes to great achievements. Thank you so much for that, I couldn’t help it but cry to such a tribute.
2) Thank you for add the best scene of the Shape Of Water (the black and white scene)
Thank you for your feedback ❤️
Yes! I felt the same way. Even though LLL was put in there because of the mistake, It's my favorite movie and it's incredible! I loved to see the tribute
Sublime 😍 Bien joué le petit Lalaland/Moonlight ! 👏🏻😄

Great work of art I must say, used movie lines and winning speeches in spotless harmony.

You know, Crash, Green Book, The Artist (for me personally), and The King Speech weren't great best picture winners.... but this video made them seem great (edit: didn't really care for The Hurt Locker as well but thats a whole other debate)
(Edit edit: XD!!! HE INCLUDED LA LA LAND PERFECTLY!!)
Every years thousents of movies release but one movie won best picture. There are something one these movie so that they won oscar.
@@farhanabdullah512 assuming what your saying is "they had to have done something to win Best Picture" i agree. However these movies for me were good movies but bad picks for Best Picture (I hate "The Artist" however) because other movies came out that were much better or you actually remember and represent their respective year best (i.e. Brokeback Mountain, Roma, Tree of Life, and The Social Network)
@Michelangelo Pio Izzo but the Cinematography is some of the best ever
