She played Blanche DuBois in a stage adaptation and I was young when I saw it, I can still remember how I was just staring at her unravel and my Mum would tell me at home that it was the best Blanche DuBois she has ever seen. So it's a no-brainer why she perfectly slayed the role in Blue Jasmine because Blue Jasmine is inspired by A Streetcar Named Desire. You'll loathe her at the beginning of the movie then you'll sympathize and feel for her as the movie is about to end. You should watch it. It's one of the best performances by any actor in history IMO.

Good god, watching these compilations just reminds me of the wealth of talent in film. It's been like this forever, but man seeing the winners in context to the other nominations, just drives home that they all need to be remembered. Their legacy truly lives on through their impact on viewers and not the academy.
