- The Huben K1 Mk2 is a PCP ahead of its time. It took a while to get it shooting well, but I'm very happy with the final results!

It's not equivalent to a .22 rimfire with a round in the chamber if you just leave the chamber empty. You can easily unload the magazine in a Huben. Just push the pellets out. Yes, it can still go off then which is indeed undesirable but there's not always a round in the chamber just because it's a Huben. If you're done shooting and there are pellets left, just unload them.
Very impressive for an airgun. 80 lbs is nuts. I think it will only get better. That said, proud of the objective review you did and more about the safety warning with respect to kids. Good job my friend. Jim
Best and honest Huben revision i ever saw!! Thanks man good job .
Very excited for these advances!
Got the 2021 version and the barrel used in it now works 100% with diabolos and it seems to like the 34gr Javelin slug in .218 caliber as well, I need to test more but it looks promising that it can be both a super accurate pellet gun and still a decent slug gun at the same time. Been wanting one ever since I saw this review and now I finally had some money to buy "unneccesary" stuff with so I got one :-)
Nice I still want one but I am still settling on my powder gun setup before any potential bans. Good to hear updates from customers who are on the V2 though. I am also looking at the AEA HP BULLPUP SEMI-AUTO .25 as a affordable option even though the Huben is clearly the better gun. Its just so modular and versatile in the 8-80ftlb's adjustability. I also just like new technology and the K1 is all those things. I need all the air rifles to slaughter the squirrels on my land. We have been in a year long war with 20 down and at least six more to go. They destroyed my house...and my sanity....lol Right now I use a 22LR specifically sighted and designed to run sub sonic rounds. Ammo is just hard to find and when I do its very expensive. That is the downside to having a dedicated platform for a specific ammo type in a caliber. We already have the high pressure compressor and now we just need to stack in the air rifles. Cheers
Always finding the cutting edge technology, great review.
Great review Matt! Looks like another game changer once all the negative issues are sorted out. Using the Huben pellets, this powerful little gun can be a great compact shooter used for hunting small to medium sized game.
Hey Matt do you still have this rifle? Would also love to see more budget friendly high power air rifles in .22 because of South Africas caliber restriction(an FX isn't exactly in most people's budget) thanks for the great content as always and hope you're keeping safe during the lockdown🤙🇿🇦
Love your work, thank you for your very honest appraisal, keep your videos coming I really enjoy them!
Good honest review Matt. I will have to have a look to see how it works. Seasons greetings.
Sorted the jamming issue by installing a thin plastic shim in front of mag .200+ rounds different amo no jamming.Od 50mm id 32 mm 18 micron thick cut to fit in front of bearing. Thanks for the channel.
I found your channel a couple months ago and have been really enjoying your content. Thumbs up from Nevada.
That was a great honest review. I will be looking forward to the improvements for your next review.
Matt i like that you are true to yourself and being honest on the review.
You are really good at what you are doing Matt. I'm really impressed by you. The best of all!
Same thing happened to the Hatsan Bullmaster, Barrage, Sortie. Many people send their guns for RMA there are very few pcp semiautos that are reliable.
For me the pros far outweigh the cons. I would really have to be behind the rifle for at least a month to give a better opinion but with your review I'm pretty stoked about this rifle. And I'm also sure in these early stages they're testing the waters. They've come up with a game-changing idea. Now they just have to fine-tune it.
We are approaching the "Space Age" for air rifles. It will be crazy to see where we are in 10 years.
Legislated obsolescence
Hi matt, I would like you to make a video hunting with the HUBEN K1. thank you very much
We need this in a .357 with 800mm-1200mm barrel and a larger air capacity
another geat video matt thanks for all the work you put in to make the videos stay safe good luck and merry christmas
The two valves used to accomplish this feat is clever and can only work if it's primary chamber is pressurized, closing the main valve. So no, it cannot be de-cocked pr.ce. However if they added a pre-chamber that could be locked, then you could fire one shot, releasing the primary chamber and the gun would be essentially de-cocked. Also there is no real reason you couldn't have a detachable magazine either, other than assembly engineering. (valve is locked) Very clever design though, I like where they are going with it.
+Tom Granberg It is a game changer for sure!
Hi Matt, hope you had a good Christmas 🎄and hope you have a great new year .
All the best from Ireland 🇮🇪
At first I didn’t like your review. I felt like you sounded like an FX rep. After owning this gun for awhile now, I realize that you were spot on about this gun!
lindsey2010 where did you find it? Are you in the US? Cost? Thanks cheers.
Case G I bought it in the U.S from New England Airguns 1,500 U.S dollars.
Hi Matt, thanks for a great demonstration of Huben. I really like your video!
Great video Matt! I always enjoy watching your videos!
80fpe is amazing pcps changed the airgun game great vid this is an older vid the huben.25 pistol is a beast too I hope they put some bigger calibers out there though
Like I need one.. Just recently been learning that "pellets" function best within a limited range of power, an begin to destabilize around 900+ fps.
Which makes sense why not of these pcp rifles are tuned to around 875 etc.. An that slugs function better in the highest power range.
If he was shooting at 1010 fps, on the power wheels "level 2" setting, this thing definitely gets up there. An could shoot pellets well in level 1 or 2, however anything above is meant for slugs.
Feel like my next purchase may have to be either this gun or one of the fully automatic pellet rifles lol..
Thank you for a truly honest review! Love it great video!
Joey Tipler Damn right, this fella I have followed for a long time, and for one simple reason.....honesty. This guy is the most honest person on RUclips when it comes to reviewing rifles, hands down, and I take my hat off to him. A great ambassador for Air rifles. I wish him a great and successful career.
80ftlb .22 wow! intresting air rifle well done huben for thinking outside the box, keep up the good work matt, really enjoy your vids thanks
Great review, yes once you start increasing velocity pellets need to be designed more like bullets, and greater weight.
I love this channel for you
Hello Matt,Nice review as always.Have you tries shooting the boat tail pellets/bullets through another gun? FX or a Cricket?Be interesting to see if those pellets perform
Knowledge from you again 👍👍 keep up the good work Salute
Always look forward to your vids. Hope to see lots of new ones 2018.
Very good review of this rifle.
It won’t shoot pellets but it may shoot .22 cast lead bullets. That’s essentially what Huben sent
Brilliant review Matt and a really interesting development. If it takes off in the next few years then I can say I heard it here 1st.
Hi .. did you try any pellet that work fine with it .... ? It is good . It is powerful but i cant find a good pellet for it .... the jsb beast and monster work fine up to 50 yard then they go nuts .... at 100 yards they really really loose stability. So do you have any opinion?
Merry Christmas Matt!
I have been tons of research on these air guns. I just want to purchase the best one for my survival backpack. I really like the one that you are testing.
The fact that you cannot decock this airgun and only put it on safe is not necessarily a bad thing. A good example would be the AR15 which you cannot put it on safe without the internal Hammer being cocked and if you're intending on using it, you have a round in the chamber.
If only they could team up with fx, weihrauch or Steyr and make this rock solid in reliability. Still got to respect the creativity involved. Am I right in thinking this is the only model Huben make ? I know there have been a few versions but for such a young company starting out with this is pretty impressive.
Great review. I look forward to seeing you hunt with it!
Guns should always be treated as if they are loaded and not pointed at anything that you do not want to kill. The K1 magazine and safety is not different than any other gun. It should be kept on safe and your finger should be along the frame away from the trigger until you are ready to shoot. If you are storing the K1 the pellets should be shot or removed from the magazine. If you are storing it loaded, it should be on safe and locked in a safe as you would any other gun. Training and safety discipline is the key. A person without the maturity level to grasp these concepts should not have a gun of any sort that shoots a projectile. The literature should be read and understood before attempting to use any gun, because a single accident it too many and impacts all of us. Speak up if you see a safety problem or have a safer way of doing things.
It is regrettable that Matt chose to praise the innovation and leap forward that the Huben K1 represents, but condemn the fixed magazine needed for the large capacity hammer-less firing system. I hope he realizes that this issue is easily overcome with proper training and discipline in the use of the K1.
Like your comment..tho human error are humans...great comment ..tho
Great vid jus know that DonnyFL makes external suppressor for Airguns only and the adapter to go with this Huben... allow me to add that at twenty feet on the other side of my fence my neighbor didn’t even know I was there. Great equipment.
Hi Matt,
Thanks for a great review. On the safety issue, I own one of these fantastic airguns and find it easy to rotate the rotary magazine to an empty chamber, also one can simply empty a few chambers of the magazine if you have to, and position the empty chamber in line with the barrel. It should be treated like any weapon.... Loaded and dangerous. I would like to get my hands on some of the Huben slugs you mentioned. Where can I get them?
Great Matt, at last you made this video review to help us all !!!!!!? Thanks a lot really bro, I think lot of people have been waiting for this. I've sent you an email with a formal invitation when you come to Patagonia to hunt, look for it and let me know what you think of the idea. Keep it up.
Alejandro Ortiz Salas Matt is going in January. Can't wait!
Thanks for your honest review
amazing. thank you so much Matt
Another good airgun video. Looking forward to you hunting with it.
Matt, great to see this gun without any hype. How does the firing mechanism work - is it a solenoid ?
Has the quality control better now
I have the gen 5 of this gun and it is awesome ! 50 yards is .24 dia for 6 shots .
What is the price
@@lexus648 Gun $1600.00 from AOA scope $450.00 from planet optics bi-pod $275.00 Total $2,325.00
thank you so much Matt
My LCS works the same way but has two safeties. No kid should own this gun anyway. As for the suppressor, they don't work anywhere near as well on hammerless guns. My LCS still is snappy because most of the sound comes out the rear. - they do sell a fitting for moderators for LCS. (2020)
Wildcat .22 short barrel still my go to in the bush air rifle
Oh I also forgot the end is threaded. although not to standerd half inch bsp .but you can unscrew it buy heating it up with a hair dryer or heat gun then put a leather belt around it with a vice grip and it comes out easy without damaging it.
A friend in Brazil got his all rusted inside, he worked on it for months before being able to shoot a pellet.
Excellent review. Thank you
Please make more videos using this rifle.
Huben will really be happy with you telling people NOT to buy this weapon. No, you don't leave a chambered weapon lying around...but NEW TECH REQUIRES NEW SAFETY PROTOCALLS...A TRIGGER LOCK ETC.....I THINK THIS HAMMERLESS WEAPON IS AWESOME AND THE FUTURE OF THE AIRGUN INDUSTRY.
Nice airgun! But for me when you get into the pcp guns with over 60 ft lb, i like my CZ 455 .22 Lr with suppressor just as much. I also believe the pellets need more engineering to make them better. Also i liked your video on the FX Stremeline in .22 so much i bought one and am putting a SWFA 16x42 on it. I bought the fx suppressor as well.
I have been waiting for a company to build an AG around a bullet, so tired of horrible bc of pellets. If companies were smart they would offer guns with barrel options for both! :) With the questions around tightening up the design and minor flaws I will hold off on this one until all is sorted out but they have something here for sure! I know the smooth twist X is working towards a more bullet friendly barrel liner but have not seen it proven. Great vid Matt, thanks!
Yes! a configuration and design that "will change the air rifle market." So very much needed. To say that air rifle manufacturers are stuck in a rut is a massive understatement. FX stands alone as trying to bring new tech to market. whoever Huben is I salute them.
the ring on the end can be dissasemmbled and a 1/2unf adapter is available from airguns.nl (custom made by them in the workshop)
Voliere-info.nl He sounds like an FX rep.
This a Beauty of
A AirRifle, but
This not a kid gun.
This IS A ADULTS
ONLY AIRRIFLE.
NICE VIDEO,
WELL DONE.
I've been eagerly watching this rifle for a while. Maybe what this technology needs is a company like FX to take it to the masses.
8O LBS WILL KILL A DEAR AT 25 YARDS ,HOGS NO PROB !!! AWESOME VID AS ALWAYS BRO !
I really want to get one some day. Hope they get popular
Haha sounds like you sent the piece to Gregor, Iv just been through similar issues, have since stripped and rebuilt it a few times so am confident with a lot of the mechanism. sourcing the right o rings was impossible other then straight from huben. Also I have an adaptor for added mod, you can source them from airgun heaven here in the Netherlands or probably any good fabricator could make one, are you using the new regulator then? Just waiting on mine to come 👌🏼
a perfect rifle, but here in Brazil it becomes very expensive q acquisition. however the beeman 1338 or artemis 900W are excellent options, make a video of your point of view in relation to this PCP that I talked about.
Can't wait for the hunting!
Very interesting offering there Matt, certainly seems a step in the right direction regards long range Accuracy with Air power. Back when i was active in the scene, it seemed the lads state side who were able to cast rounds to tight tolerances and match to the right barrel/twist rate, were able to push the bundries so far.
Any idea what Barrel length/ twist is on that Pup?
When do we see some hunting with this airgun?!
nice anda beautiful gun matt, thanks for sharing.
I'm excited to watch how to do maintenance most of air rifles.
Can´t wait until you go out for a hunt with that beast !!!
Thanks from Egypt
Matt basically hated this gun-but put up a good face. Never seen it used since.
Yeah, it wasn't a FX lol!
Perfect and wonderful thank you man"
hi Matt
Kral puncher breaker or puncher jumbo next please. They seem great value for the money.
regards
Hey Matt...were you tempted to try those Huben bullets in an FX and if so, did you crank it up to the 1000 FPS bench mark? Great work yet again:-)
+flytelaw1 They won’t shoot well out of an FX, firstly because of power limitations, but secondly because the barrel dimensions are different
You have opened Pandora's box, mate, and that is highly commendable....the question begged is, "at what point do airgun manufacturers move from drag stabilised to transonic or hypersonic projectile tech"....I have a feeling you will explore that envelope...Cheers, FB PM me...have news on a few fronts...
AirArmsHuntingSA
Hi Matt, do you know why fx didn’t put the verminator mk2 semi auto into production?
Hamerless system sounds valuable. However, at 80 ft lbs, it seems that a rimfire rifle of equal price would be a better deal since we're no longer preserving the safety profile of diabolo pellets.
I think air is better . you can shoot longer without barrel fowling and worrying about barrel expansion as it heats up and slightly cheaper .oh and were i live no license required
You hit on a very good point- which is government regulation. This air rifle, having the equivalent ballistics to a subsonic 22 rimfire, might invite greater government restrictions on ALL air rifles. The general public doesn't understand that air rifles firing diabolo pellets are intrinsically safer than firearms of equivalent calibers.
You can put 2 pellets at the time before turning the magazine.
I am between Lcs 6,35 and huben 6,35. I need it for wild hogs for 20-30 meters. I need your help my friends. 5,5 is more penetrate; Great video
I was hypnotised by the dog's tail! Interesting product. Is there any information on a) how the hammerless system actually works? I am wondering if it's electric solenoid? and b) again how does the magazine advance? It doesn't seem to be trigger operated so again - electricity? Does it require batteries Matt?
Simon Nonymous no battery needed。there is a small air chamber for magazine and trigger.
Hey Matt have you tried the H&N Piledriver .22 with this gun? If you do I'd love to know the results you got.keep up the good work from a fan in the Caribbean.
I don't belive this guy would even show off a crazy gun.
Any updates on this beast? I truly wish they would develop this design further, maybe a scaled down, tactical version, because the stock is hideous.
As a safety measure because of not being able to decauk it . Option make sure it's always empty when not in use . Or maybe a locked trigger? I understand it's not your FX GUN an yes your always honest but like how persistent on it says a lot .. in all fairness it's probably 1/3 the cost of your FX GUNS ?
Matt check out EDgun electronic gauges nice bit of kit to go on your impact. Keep up the good work
Do you think this gun would be good for medium size game?? (Fox, coyote, raccoon etc) I liker looks and the power output you explained. Good video, Thanx bro
YES! The .22 Gamo Whisper G2 .22 cal can take small hogs at 25 yards with 21 ft/lbs. This gun has 80 ft/lbs, i'm sure it can take a deer at 50 yards.
ruclips.net/video/jejT_DOIgO4/видео.html
A air gun with half the power of that would be plenty to take out aany small game,,there are videos on here with a Hatsan bullboss with 42 ft lb taking wild hog out in texas.
cool and sincere review, now what about the M40 semi auto? I'm thinking to purchase one because is cheaper etc ,is this one as advanced as this Huben K1?
After 5 years you should go back and take the time to try the new Huben K1
Thank you for your input, great video and right on target.
I have had my Huben K-1 for two years now and I can tell you I had problems with air leaking , miss fires and back then getting it
repaired did not go well. My gun went to two different dealers in the USA, as per Huben and still could not be fixed.
I have learned how to disassemble 100% of this gun, what a learning curve. I even had to send internal parts to another country.
Well Huben worked with me the whole time trying to fix my problems.
Now.... I have gun GREAT shooting gun and I am very happy....as you say " It should not be your first gun"...how true.review
Again thank for the honest and thorough review....Take care, Robert
PS- Gregor, ....this guy knows almost everything about this gun. He has several YOUTube Videos, look him up.
cant wait to see this rifle perform on hunting Matt..
Hi Matt, do you contact with Gregor Kamensek?
He did a lot of work with the mkI and mkII huben to shot well
Todos los rifles pcp deberian ser semi automáticos i automáticos.eso de cerrojo es cosa antigua estar acerrojando por cada tiro.
Hey can i use those slugs on a sumatra 2500 22
