      We were thinking the heat most likely had something to do with it. It was hot as hell that day. Also probably didn't help that the car sat on pit lane at World Wide Tech Raceway for a couple hours where I know the temperature was even hotter down on the track. When we left we were allowed to due a pull down the straight away and I just couldn't help myself. Launch control and gave it the beans, then balls to the wall on the way back to the hotel.

      No issues at all and no cel like some of the other exhausts have had. I like it quite a bit. I think it has a good clean sound to it. It's not as loud or as deep sounding as some of the others but it's not a high pitch sound either. It's just kinda right in the middle. I do think when you're in the car based on the sound you're hearing you would think outside the car it's really loud but that's not the case. Don't get me wrong it's still louder than stock but just doesn't over do it.

    Get the springs that enhance this cars sport ability. Springs and tires are all you need on this car to REALLY make it the car it is meant to be. Lowering it does little to nothing other than looks. You already have mag ride dampers, and a MSS kit for a Z06/Z07 feel is worth the money. The Spring rate is too soft for the chassis performance capabilities.

      I think the new wing fits good and the carbon flash finish is decent. I opted to use the adhesive tape and bolts to install. Prior to installing I felt using the bolts was going to pull the wing down to the body of the car just a little tighter leaving little to no gap and it did. Looking at the wing from the front and the side it looks really good but when you see it from the rear it does look kinda big but it kinda has to be molded that way to cover the holes and follow the body lines.

    I believe I saw that changing Headers will void the warranty, but it sounds like other things you’ll be doing will possibly void some warranty(s).
    Due diligence for people making any changes is advised.
    Hey, it’s your car and do what you want.
    I’m just saying this as a PSA to you and other owners.
    I’ve never had an Extended Warranty in 52 years of having a car. The C8 may possibly be the First Extended Warranty for me. I still have a year and a half to decide.
    I’d like to do modifications too, but the C8 is fine for me at my time in life (68) and my “Cam Head Days” are a long term memory from the 70s & 80s and driving level. I’m not as sharp or have the reflexes that I used to being honest.

    • @eight16garage
      @eight16garage  Год назад

      Thanks for the heads up! I understand that changing headers can possibly void the warranty, but I'm not too concerned about that. I'm willing to take the risk of voiding the warranty in order to make the modifications I want. Out of curiosity, what's making you consider the need for an extended warranty?
      In the meantime, thanks for your support. It sounds like maybe you're not as interested in modifying your car as you used to be, but I appreciate that you're still looking out. I'll definitely keep my viewers updated along the way.

    • @kerry_glock

      @@eight16garage As many issues that seem to come up, I think the engine and drivetrain could be problematic.
      It depends on pricing of course, but a 7 year Bumper to Bumper Extended Warranty was $2,800 if purchased before the original warranty expires.
      So, something to think about if it’s for the engine and transmission.

    • @eight16garage
      @eight16garage  Год назад

      @@kerry_glock I don't think the LT2 engines will be problematic. I think LT2 reliability issues and engine problems have mostly been over hyped by the internet. For 2020 model years this was a semi new engine being put into a new chassis. So yeah, the first year models had their share of small problems, and a limited amount of big problems as do most first year models. Now the DCT I could see reliability issues long term, but mostly due to the way the car has been driven and lack of appropriate maintenance. Now there will always be some that just break no matter what and that goes for the engines as well.
      I do understand where you're coming from in regard to having an extended warranty though. I've got a 2020 Explorer ST that I love driving and owning because it checks all the boxes for what I need. But if Ford hadn't given me an additional 6 year/100k mile extended warranty as a courtesy due to a transmission failure, I would've dumped that thing in a "heartbeat" as soon as the factory warranty was up. The extended warranty gives you piece of mind, especially for something you feel isn't going to be reliable. So far I haven't got that feeling from the C8.

I personally can't wait to see what the Eray will be like. I've been looking at getting a 2017+ NSX but definitely have to wait knowing the Eray is on the way. I would've been #2 on the list at my dealer but when they called to put me on the list they told me $20k over. I said no thanks and didn't look for any other lists. I'm just worn out by this whole getting on waiting lists and some dealers charging exuberant amounts over msrp stuff. Guess I'll just play the waiting game or come back to these cars when the hype has died down.

    New to your channel. Who is the “we” you refer to so much?

      Thanks for watching! "We" as in just me most of the time, but there are some who often lend a hand along the way but stay behind the scenes. Wife, kids and friends.

      @@ericgilliam2549 LOL, well thank you for watching and for the compliment. I spoke with the tuner the day after HP Tuners announced the C8 computers had been cracked and then I went out of town for a couple weeks. Now I am just waiting to hear back as to when he can get me in. He said he's gonna need the car for about 2 to 3 weeks to street and dyno tune it. Also trying to figure schematics on the best way to get power numbers after the header install prior to tuning and then after all parts are installed with a tune with the numbers I already have. I'd like to get everything on one dyno so it's a true comparison.

    How did you lower the front ?

    • @eight16garage
      @eight16garage  Год назад +1

      Front and rear were lowered by using C8 coilover wrenches adjusted down to about 2 threads left. The car is using only factory suspension parts. This car has the Z51 package so it comes with adjustable coilovers from factory. ✌

      So with the Z51 package with no lift and no magnetic ride all you need is the wrench thing to lower. Thanks

      @@markswitzer1 Yep, all you need is the wrenches!

      Also. Is your care a 1LT. If yes, how’s the stereo sound (I’ve heard mixed reviews) and do you have issues with blind spots? I’ve read people saying that’s an issue. I’ve been looking to buy a C8 and really conflicted on which one to get. Thanks again

      @@markswitzer1 Yes mine is a 1LT. I think the stereo is good. I can hear it just fine over the modified exhaust. Blindspots are a thing in this car but as long as you pay attention and set your mirrors accordingly, I think you'll be just fine.
