  • Killer guitar player and friendly sales pro Brian Lemert shows me the Fender Champion 40 guitar amplifier at Sweetwater Music's 2018 GearFest. We were discussing economy amps for under $250, and this is the amp that Brian gave the edge. He shows us how the controls work, and he shares some tasty licks - from smooth jazz to scorching metal. Many thanks to Brian and the team at Sweetwater. Here's a link to the amp on Sweetwater's site: bit.ly/2yG6PBy

    I've purchased this amp and it is absolutely amazing. The cleans are honestly as good as a proper fender tube amp. A/B'd with a blues junior, I honestly thought the champion sounded better. No regrets whatsoever, easily the best amp you can get at its price point.

    After your video on the Katana, I was inspired to buy a new amp. I almost went for the katana, but the Fender 40 and its tonal range hooked me in. It’s been a great amp for me so far.

      I was and still am a big fan of the Fender Mustang series. I really liked the sound of the Champion 40 though when I heard it live. The guy in this video (Brian Lemert) is super-legit with his guitar and amp knowledge, and this is the economy amp he went to without hesitation. I'll probably buy one soon. TLG

      Tony Lee Glenn which is better for the money, Katana 50, or the champion 40? I’m looking for an amp that can get me great rock tones.

    Wow, i love this guy. Even he is a nice guitar player, he made a fanatastic and kind presentation. Played the champ 40 a few days ago and instantly ordered one! He didn't shown the Metal Presets in lower gain settings, which brings also many different possibilities to customize your sounds. Absolutally brilliant Amp in my first impression.

    All you need on top of this amp would be a multi FX unit with a wha/ volume pedal and maybe a few pedals in fron of the amp & you jave it made. I think the has an optional footswitch which gors form 1 channel to another and the 2nd switch (The best part) ativates the FX loop. I bought a Mesa TC-50 for 3,500. One of the main reasons is the on the footswitch I can turn on/off the FX loop. I love this feature. If I was an amp designer or the ceo, I would put that fx-on/off on all my amps.

    Best solid state combo in the world. I bought the 20w, louder better sounding than Mustang. Better Marshall mods than Peavey Vip1, (Bluesbreaker, Plexi, JCM800) and way louder than Marshall MGFX 30w. Modulates greatly the Fender amps, Boogie Recto, etc. Well, that is enough. I also just ordered the 40W. I tried all the others in the market and this is THE BEST. Loud, great gain and effects. I use it sometimes with an MXR Wylde OD, vut its not necessary. No, I don't have any thing with Fender. Katana sounds horrible, thin, bassy, no brightness.

    How can i get a lead / volume increase on this amp?
    I'll use channel 2 for a crunch / rhythm sound then when I use my Boss overdrive pedal to get a volume increase for a solo, nothing changes; the volume remains the same no matter how much I increase the gain or volume on the pedal.
    Any advice?

    Wish they would make a Fender Champion 60. Something perfectly in between and gigable most anywhere.

    • @dtmateo
      @dtmateo 2 года назад

      You do not need 60W to gig. Even 0.5W is loud enough. Mic the amp. There is no way your vocalist can scream louder than even the tiniest of amps. A loud amp will only piss off the sound guy

    My Marshall DSL100HR is in the shop getting the fx loop/switching problem fixed and I -need- want lol an amp other than using plugins in the mean time. My Dsl100hr is my favorite amp I've ever owned but it would be nice to have a second amp that does the fender stuff (lol my Marshall can do the fender stuff also) but it's important to have multiple amps for times like this.

    I think these amps sound way better then those tone master amps and it sounded terible I sent it back this is a better amp and it only cost around $200 bucks used I just don't understand a tone master twin cost $1000 dollars and I played it on stage and it sounded flubby I just could not dial it in and I had a Boss Katana Artist and boy that was a bummer a week after I bought it they came out with the MK2 witch had more options on it they I will have to try one of these amps out thanks for the video.
