In a Tweek podcast, Leo thought he knew the Sora matchup from playing Maister. But later admitted that Kameme’s Sora is completely different and how broken the character is
As a Sora main from release, Maister’s Sora has always been cheeks. He doesn’t “get” the character. On top of that, he never even committed to making the Sora his main or a comain. 90% of the time his Sora was a last ditch effort in a best of 5. Sora isn’t a fundies character you can just pick up and find success with. Without a good advantage state that takes advantage of Sora’s up air juggling, idj combos, and platform extensions Sora is pretty underwhelming. His disadvantage state as a floaty can be tricky to get out off and a lot of rushdowns will obliterate you if you’re not mixing up your recovery routes above and off stage. Some zoners and swordies can also be terrible to deal with like Min Min and Aegis.
@@ReconNarwhal I genuinely think (as much as we all like Kameme's Mega Man) that if he dropped Mega Man completely to focus solely on Sora, he could be a top tier player, he can already clearly compete and beat some of the best of the best at times like here, when he beat Sonix, and did extremely will against Riddles.

It doesn't matter who Leo plays but how he plays. He doesn't play Byleth the same anymore. Before he used to play so methodical and patient. He would condition his opponents so well which lead to shield breaks and up b conversions. 2 things he doesn't even do anymore. Now his Byleth just does nair 85% of the time as a way to get in. While in the past Leo would find his opening to use nair not use nair as a way in. Leo mashes more and its because he has put so much time into Mythra.
People adapted to Leo’s shield breaks, Leo can’t go for them because most people are very aware and conservative about their shield usage. You can see this especially with how Sparg0 used to play against Leo vs how he plays against him now. Barely sheild, gives time dor shield to regenerate, etc. I think Leo did fine, he nearly got it too just missed some conversions. Leo can still be the best Tho that Zomba set I have no idea how he lost that was a bit sus
I dunno. This just looked like MU inexperience to me. Leo was getting mashed on by Sora aerial combos and it looked like Leo had nothing for it. His spacing with fair and bair looked more off than his nair, considering there were several times Leo read a side B from Kameme trying to get back on to stage but mispaced his bair, which let Kameme get back for free. Leo can’t use Nair in neutral as much because Sora’s aerials beat it out. Leo was playing ass the last game but it looked more like he was uncomfortable in the MU.
Set males sence, as a byleth player myself this MU is very strange. Soras combo of floatyness & good arial game make it hard for byleth to keep with out with their midrage tools
5:06 - 5:15 is the main reason why Sora isn’t S tier. Kameme managed to successfully pull off Ars Arcanum, practically won the battle but Sora’s side b is CONSTANTLY putting him at a disadvantage. Anyone who thinks “Sora’s side b makes his recoveries one of the best in the game” are also the ones who know and never will admit out loud that his side b is also the move that screws him over.
the side-b was not what killed him there. It was Fair not working when Kameme was off-stage. If it worked properly, mkleo was dead. Granted, Kameme might've been too low when he did Fair 1 off-stage. I agree side-b is exploitable flaws, but it has lots of mix-up potential. Mkleo just used Dair at the right timing.
i mean his recovery there was predictable and he did a bad angle not to snap ledge so the down air was free. when you have one of the biggest down airs that spikes i think its gonna be hard to avoid sometimes. you gotta give more credit to mkleo lol multiple top tiers wouldve also gotten spiked too and have worse recoveries than sora
If you watch it again, kameme was drifting back when he did the fair. If he had committed to drifting right it would’ve worked. I mean it’s a sora thing to kind of hit the first one to check if it connects then continue the last two hits. Plus if it doesn’t connect and he kept going he’d be dead anyways. But yeah probably just threw it out there just to check leo but wasn’t confident in it connecting
@@RanserSSF4 I rewatched it I agree his off stage f air was his real downfall. He was trying to make it impossible to make it back to stage for leo. Not to sound like a hater but to say mkleo had the right timing is like complimenting someone for punishing a sephiroth using up b in the middle of the map. I was confused by your mix-up potential comment so I went back to the video of sakurai introducing the mechanics behind sora. And turns out you’re right. Ive been playing sora since released and I was completely unaware sora’s side b isn’t necessarily a homing attack. Idk you could take control of the direction if let go pressing b and even go back to homing if you wanted. BUT I also found out at the end of the day his side b will leave him defenseless when recovering. Considering sora’s side b will not grab edge until the move comes to a complete stop or you let the mechanic aim for ledge which was too risky. So maybe just maybe if kameme was patient he could’ve recovered safely but mkleo isn’t your average smash player.
@@fupalover MU looks _doable_ but Sora floating over dtilt and outside up b range and punishing looks annoying. Also even when Leo nairs him Kameme was airborn so often that sent awkwardly and he couldnt get much from it. Plus Kameme is likely always gonna be more prepared for a Sora MU than the opponent so going with the advantageous pick is ideal
@@silverpotato4272 The last time he solo mained Joker consistently was more than 2 years ago. He's out of practice and he will continue to be until he sticks with Joker. But even his out of practice Joker, regardless of placement, moves better and has a better match up spread and fits his style better than Aeigis and Byleth. If he committed to Joker for a long time and got worse results than he's getting now (highly unlikely), then we could say he was right to look for a new main. Otherwise, the data clearly points to mainly playing Joker as the best Leo can possibly do.
I hear Sora can be really tricky with his aerial strings. Asking any Sora mains/people well versed in the game, how difficult was it for Kameme to land that final combo at the end of game four? How tight was that execution? Thanks!
I dunno if Byleth does well in this MU. It looks pretty horrible for him on stage. Leo looked like he didn’t know how to play the MU well, but Byleth is so slow and Sora’s attacks beat out a Byleth’s nair which is like 80 percent of his kit. Sora can also edgeguard Byleth pretty well, but the reverse is also true. To me, it looked like a mixture of not knowing the MU + the MU being kind of bad. Kameme also says this is a losing MU for Byleth.
@@GessekaiMoon I don't know why everybody says Byleth being slow is such an issue in the mu. He's always compensated for it with his large aerials and movement, and it's not like Sora is some super fast in your face character. Plus he's floaty. You can play around all these factors pretty well, Leo just didn't show it. He thinks Byleth should win too, but I agree he doesn't know the mu.
@@fromjahwluv It seems to be the case. I guess the fact that Byleth's ground game isn't much use versus Sora's kit is pretty annoying. He can become predictable because of that. But you don't have to win neutral as much as Sora has to to take a stock.
Leo can win major tournaments with A LOT of characters, he just have to decide which one he wana play. He's the only player able to win like that. For exemple, he was the best Ike when he started plating Ultimate.

I feel like Leo lost due to matchup unfamiliarity and impatience. He was playing extremely impatient and was coming out of shield while Sora was still attacking leading to him being combo chained and KOd. You can tell his Byleth has suffered significantly from playing Aegis so much after admitting he was going to drop the character. Hopefully he focuses on getting his Byleth back to what is was and starts playing patient again. I would also love to see more of his Marth or even Corrin. It just feels like Byleth, Marth, and Corrin all did really well for him and he just gave up on them. Guess we’ll see if he chooses to keep running Aegis in the next tournament
He's played Kameme's sora before, even then i think people need to just accept that everyone is much better than they were 4 years ago and that the gap has closed by a lot, Spargo prolly just as good, if not better than Leo rn. He can obviously make a comeback. Reminder he also lost to Zomba which he has no excuse for since he says BigBoss is the best ROB and he train with him all the time. Give people their flowers bro, people are just catching up.
Not really, he’s familiar with Sora but not the style that Kameme plays. Leo essentially went cocky since he thinks its similar to Dabuz and Maister. Theres a reason why NA calls Sora bad. Kameme has shown time to time how very viable Sora is and that he is potential top tier
@Illford The game needs the flowers instead because it’s nothing but a huge selection of nigh infinite amounts of nigh annoying cheese lords. The ultimate result of the game shittinb out 70-ish characters and its Godawful online as well as its Godawful character designs. The fact MKLeo and Tweek can no longer beat the cheese is a bad sign for how the game is heading.
I gotta say Byleth doesn’t look like the right pick here. His mobility is really hurting him. Sora is getting a lot of good edgeguards, he’s able to avoid a lot of Leo’s offstage pressure, and Byleth isn’t very hard to combo. Joker would probably have been the safer pick.

Yup. That's the reason I don't believe in that "character crisis" bs.
I think the problem is him, not his characters.
Leo can still be the best
Tho that Zomba set I have no idea how he lost that was a bit sus
Leo was playing ass the last game but it looked more like he was uncomfortable in the MU.
leo stopped playing corny and gimmicky, he needs to go back to only trying to kill people at 50%
I thought yhe sane while watching. Bro is just a nair spam machine now
17:02 lmaoooooo
Set males sence, as a byleth player myself this MU is very strange. Soras combo of floatyness & good arial game make it hard for byleth to keep with out with their midrage tools

@3:16 how does he land turnaround grab so fast?!
I swear him and light br crazy and Prod on Mario with pivot grabs
I mean, I get somewhat of the initial shock. But to be fair...does anyone not remember EVO 2019? 🤣
I still go back and watch it at least once a month. Such a good set.
Kameme, lo más grande
Voy a volver a mainear sora lo deje tirado y también deje tirado el juego pero esto es inspirador
@@yanyan5362 yes thats what happend, any real sora player can tell.
Kameme is the new GOAT
He's been the GOAT for years now though.
wtf this is like the set he SHOULD'VE used Aegis for
I agree. Leo isn't a better Mythra than Shuton but Shuton destroyed Kameme.
I don't think Byleth does bad vs Sora but Leo played this so bad. If he wanted to mash so much he should've used Mythra
Sora player here
Kameme made a MU chart recently and only had 9 losing MUs for Sora. Aegis being one of them.
Aegis and their players are less than se* workers
Most compressed video on earth?
Leo took Sora to his home court for game 5? Big mistake.
A fitting place for a fitting victory
Just switch to Byleth they said. It'll make him unwashed they said
It's much better than his Aegis. But he's still shooting himself in the foot by not playing Joker.
Byleth isn't the problem. Leo just got outplayed. Back to the grind, heh.
@@isaacnikolic5895 For real why is he so committed to trying to make Aegis work.
@@isaacnikolic5895 last big tournament where Leo used Joker was summit. He went 1 for 4 in sets with Joker and got 9th out of 16 players
16:52 "ITS NOT MY BIRTHDAY!" 😂
I hear Sora can be really tricky with his aerial strings. Asking any Sora mains/people well versed in the game, how difficult was it for Kameme to land that final combo at the end of game four? How tight was that execution? Thanks!
Tighter than me
it's not that difficult, it just takes practice.
Finally (thank you)
RIP MKLeo. From GOAT to goat cheese.
Never say that
@@flclmmmful Let him cook
I don't think I've ever seen Leo look this out of ideas. The end of game 5 just looks like hes flailing.
Byleth should definitely win the mu, but if ur missing half of ur shit whilst ur opponent does his labbed out Sora combos on u then ah well 💀
I dunno if Byleth does well in this MU.
He thinks Byleth should win too, but I agree he doesn't know the mu.
it’s an even mu fs
@@fromjahwluv It seems to be the case.
I guess the fact that Byleth's ground game isn't much use versus Sora's kit is pretty annoying. He can become predictable because of that. But you don't have to win neutral as much as Sora has to to take a stock.
@@GessekaiMoon pretty sure it’s even but not losing. And Leo thinks the MU is winning Also Leo didn’t play well at all

how is leo playing in losers on stream and no one commentates?

Kameme dominated Leo
Alguien me podría decir cuál es el nombre de la canción que comienza en el minuto 1:14
Where’s the commentary?
Leo can win major tournaments with A LOT of characters, he just have to decide which one he wana play. He's the only player able to win like that. For exemple, he was the best Ike when he started plating Ultimate.
Fair 1, 2, to up smash is BROKEN 🗝🔥

Sora believers wya
Leo needs to stay off mythra. Ever since he started playing aegis he mashes more on byleth and just doesnt play the same
Exactly. Why don't more people notice this?
Mythra and Pyra are not the problem, the problem is that everyone already knows how to play their byleth, those are the consequences of using a character that has a predictable game, as happened with joker
@Acronix-0 *Leo nairs 20x on his opponents shield* Everyone "people know the Byleth MU"
No leo isn't doing any of the things that made his Byleth #1. Which is conditioning
What a shit take, i respect your opinion though.
