The fact that you have now hired a helper tells me that your business is steadily headed up. Good job Ray.
that is a fact. he does great work although it was odd he had a run of "this shouldn't take long" repairs that ended up he would have been better off taking the radiator cap and rolling another chasis under it. happens to all of us at some point... but his run about whooped him it seemed.
Looks like the shop is quite a bit neater also! Gotta love that.

@@MrWaltjam It’s hard for me to decline jobs, even if I feel like it’s going to be a major headache. You’re right, some of the project jobs really put a hurting on me at the most inconvenient times. Persistence wins tho
@@RainmanRaysRepairs That Helper Unit you installed should do the trick. ;)

Ray: "I wonder how this ac line broke off the connector block... Also Ray, " I'll just bend this to fit"
I love the funny moments like “poppinin’ ze hood”, “words”, “gravity”, “electrons”, “lumens”, “click/unclick”, etc
I still miss the occasional “doodley doo’s”
I think my favorite is: "WHY???"
I like “brake clean DUHDUM”.
"OH NO... dropped my 10mm!"
Don't forget about wobbly bits
Plot twist, the old line broke because the last guy put a flex in it to make it fit...
I had the same creeping thought when I saw that bit haha
I can't say much tho, I've done the exact same to get to a bolt that was halfway blocked for i think it was an idler pulley in one of my vehicles. Only issue i had was the evap coil blew out a few years later and it wasn't worth ripping the dash apart to fix it. nothing like a $500 beater that lasts several years LOL
I like that Ray shows us the real image of everyday real life cars that are not just a couple of years old and have multiple issues. People can’t afford to get new cars every couple of years due to the tough times we have today. Not everyone has the money to fix everything at once and do the best they can. Ray doesn’t back down from the challenge to keep these cars on the road even if only for a couple more years.
What car have we seen only a couple years old?
@@rick980 Other channels.
Tough times are about to get worse. If you own stock sell before the crash coming.Dont believe the mainstream news ....people are not getting new car loans
I am not in any way a mechanic, I do however love watching these videos on a daily basis. It's good to learn new things even if only for the sake of knowledge! Have a great day everyone and a better tomorrow!
If nothing else it gives you an appreciation of what your mechanic is / should be doing and why things can cost what they do
Check the cabin air filters. You would be surprised at the air flow difference.

so now we know why the last one broke, it got "flexed"
Sometimes the fact that the customer hands you the part that is to be replaced, tells you more than a written statement... Somebody did a less than genius thing
My thoughts too!
I try to include customer states "I dun effed up and here's what I think I did wrong."
At least give a starting place and a better chance that I don't get sent packing.

Genius is a popular word recently ..🍺😋
That's granola...you got breakfast my friend...
What a great location to keep the computer cool inside the hood.
Ray, the leaves were a friggin’ distraction until the moment you air-pressured them into the confines in your garage. Finally!👍🏼
I remained distracted by the single leaf that was still there when he reinstalled the air box. It’s like, no one will ever have a better opportunity to take care of that than now!
OCD is a thing, people.
Did nobody call you out for blasting leaves with the throttle body waiting to ingest the debris? Tsk, tsk, tsk...
As soon as you tightened that sensor with one hand onto the tube at the bench, I knew it was a bad move. In doing that you bent the the tube out of shape and that's why you needed to bend it back to shape during the install. LOL!
Goldmember or not, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Good job on the ac and teaching Troy about those connectors . Another well done job an video . Stay safe , have fun .
Skills shout-out to Troy for getting his Mazda out of the shop at the end while you were still working on the Pontiac! 🙏👏
Great video and repair as always @Rainman Ray's Repairs
I appreciate your efforts to position the camera so we can see most everything you are doing and the thorough descriptions as you go. Many folks on other channels would do well to watch and learn!
its nice to see the wife keeping you in order and another good job thanks for the video
I am impressed that you took the time to help a colleague and passed along your invaluable experience .It shows you have high character.
I feel for you Ray!! You sounded so crestfallen when you saw the destroyed hose! I sense you were hoping to have to diag it for us but no thwarted by the giant failure. 😉
Love the vids mate! Keep up the awesome work!
Ha-ha! Ya didn't get rid of the leaves, you just relocated them to different parts of the engine bay. 😂
Out of sight out of mind!😀
Good and mostly simple fix but my guess is that hose got discombobulated by the same person that provided you with the replacement part. LOL
Been waiting all day for this. These later uploads are killing me. Finally getting my fix. Was getting chills

Thank you for this awesome upload 😊
The video was provided a pleasant interlude to my job removing expired squirrels from my heater box.
Good to see a little part of video of grasshopper learning the tricks
Never say something like "That shouldn't be too much trouble." It's guaranteed to cause something to go afoul and make things much harder than they otherwise would have been.
It's like a firefighter saying, "It's quiet tonight." or anyone saying, "What's the worst that can happen?"
Kinda like, "This should be an easy one."
Or even like "How hard can it be?"
@@Aspie_Geek_UK that’s the one that always bites me in the ass. You think I’d know better by now!
Enjoyable video,. Cheers Ray 👍
What good news...Two lifts are occupied and the third one isn't in yet. Another gooood video.
It was August, I was in Roswell, NM with the family in a 80's jeep grand wagoner and everyone was hot. Stop off at the local auto zone and got some CFC's. Topped it off and it was getting cooler. I should have left it there but thought if enough is good, more is better. Started putting more in and the hose exploded like a cannon. The family remained hot. Lesson learned, enough is better when it comes to CFC's
Another great video Ray. You did find my thermometer! Lol. My truck doesn’t read 40 anymore like this one in video but it’s sure cold. Have a great day
thankyou Ray,,and another great upload,,have yourself a good day,👍👍
Great video Ray 👌
Great work Ray Great video.
34:23 those quick connects slip on with less effort if you put a tiny bit of refrigerant oil on the o-rings first. By muscling them in you run the risk of rolling them out of their bore during installation and tearing them.
Ray always talks about "surface adhesion" and how tough it can be to get a hose off.
Hint: A very thin layer of silicone break grease destroys surface adhesion from forming on rubber or plastic.
Also, I'm big on anti-seize for rusted bolts and screws. Let them back off...... if they can.
@@Jay.Kellett I'm sold on that sillycon grease stuff. Also mechanics jelly, AKA petroleum jelly and liquid wrench. One squirt can save hours of removing broken bolts.
But if you put grease on a hose to make it slip on easier, isn’t there a risk it’ll blow off (despite the clamp) once the system is pressurized and subject to vibration from driving?
@@tedjohnson64 The o-rings are to create the seal. The retaining spring prevents it from blowing off. There's nothing wrong with lubing the o-rings. If the hose blows off, it won't be due to lube on the o-rings.
The mosquito part was really funny
Good day Mr Ray hope y'all have a wonderful day
I think your office receptionist deserves a raise. LOL
22:41 Good job, blowing half the leaves into the intake...
This model is equipped with mulching pistons.. 😅
I wondered if anyone else noticed? A little clean rag goes a long way.
Throttle plate exists.. If it was that easy to contaminate the intake, then this car deserves to be dead.
@@zerializing as someone who has had to repair the damage caused by this action mate I feel the need to be cautious. The throttle plate always has a small gap top and bottom and I agree the leaves wouldn't get through but the grit will! Happy May!!!!!!!! UK Pete.
You do great work keep it up
I LOVE your BEWARE OF MECHANIC sign.
Good video thanks ray!!!
Good show Ray !
Ray, thank you for the video on the Monte Carlo SS 3800 Series 2 manifold repair. I bought a 2005 Bonneville that had the same issue and I fixed it in 4 hours and it doesn't leak any more. Thanks again man, you and the wife unit are awesome folks. I just hope I don't have to circle back for anymore leaks lol
You love it when a plan comes together.
You are a very good technician but you are definitely funny to watch
I enjoy your videos I'm a retired truck driver mechanic heavy equipment mechanic light equipment mechanic motorcycle mechanic boat motor mechanic inboard and outboard I used to race hydroplanes if you've never done that at any experience is awesome going fast on water and crashing is like hitting a concrete wall. I'm 75 years old I have to bad ball joints in my knees and I have a bad ball joint in the old hip left one. Painful hopefully I'll have surgery here pretty soon just to have the relief from the pain. But I love watching your videos I love your honesty your integrity about your work that is awesome I was exactly the same always do the job right and honest. I work on everybody's equipment as if it was my own.
I keep weighting for Eric O to say " Gravity " when he drops a tool.
Good job Ray !
I have to say that I enjoy watching your videos I'm not a mechanic but I do fix most things on my cars, this weekend it will be replacing a ac clutch on my 2013 rough I'm sure I will cuss abit lol but you don't loose control on your videos lol keep the videos coming..

LMAO Ray, your accident with the AC machine reminded me of doing the same thing at work 2 days ago haha ... and like you it was a power off moment!

Rainman know rag "N" mass air filter before blowing out. Bad puppy. Great use of bb gun...good job 2all 🥶🐲
That parts bag, with the hanger on it, if opened with a careful slit of the bag, could be recycled into a 'parts display' that could hang by magnets on the shop wall. Parts that aren't great in a storage cabinet, seldom used tools, child unit drawings, schematics or other useful materials can be seen and protected. 😊
don't forget your valve stem tool on the wiper cowl !
Stressing that line may have cracked or weakened it if the fans were replaced previously.
Aw, thought you might blow the leaves of the windscreen channel grill. Love the assault blow gun.
Troy "Clickage" sweet, thanks for the share.
Maybe the last guy gave the manifold a little flexing too? 😄
At end of video, most importantly, don’t forget to remove lumen-producing unit from hood! You’ll need it later! 😊
See why the other mechanic leafed it alone 😅😅
I like the way you make place on a workbench. Just shift al the tools aside. I do the same😂
I had an A/C hose break like that one winter in Germany
Aluminum AC lines have a lot of flex to them, so theres not really any problem bending them unless you try to bend it back and forth trying to get a good angle. I had a comeback on an AC compressor on a ford edge, customer hit pothole and ripped the suction line off the peanut fitting, that was still attached to the compressor 😁
At 500+K subscribers, great viewing numbers, a lots of comments, I hope RUclips is paying you well!
Ray..just to letcha know, i watched Eric O's most recent video work'n on a Cooper mini and he used "tiger tight" and credit'd you for the saying ;-)
seeing the damage, i bet that the hose wasnt fitting in and the previous mechanic did bend it a bit and over time, the fragilized conduit ended up ripping off.
Parts canon day, "I don't have to think hard." Finds broken A/C hose, brains immediately goes into over-drive.
"Tight like a TIGER!"

Good morning and good day , enjoying the show as usual and it was nice to see wife unit LOL , does she not do You Tube anymore ?
I was waiting for the new line to break at the manifold as you were trying to bend it... I would have tried bending it up at the bend...reducing the stress on the weld at the manifold.
Ray, here's a tip get your wife to mix up some Pepper Mint oil in a small sprayer with water. Just a few drops and spray around where you are working. It keeps the mosquitoes away. (Small 4 inches tall bottle). My wife made one up for me when I'm working in the garage.
just changed my wife’s car cabin filter, it was full of sun flower seeds! do not know when it
happened! it was difficult getting it out of its holder but I was successful, in replacing the filter.
My Montana’s fob would lock but wouldn’t unlock. Pretty sure it’s a relay built into the BCM.
Ray, you're goanna need a bigger shop eventually!!
Good morning Ray
