    this is a perfect example of a multitool containing more tools for the sake of having more tools, without any foresight as to what can be done with them

    The answer is yes.
    Stuff like this and alot of the *card* tools are way over done and useless. Like no one is really gonna use them for anything

      Totally agree, although I do have the Lever Gear Tool Card and it lives in my wallet and I always forget I even have it. Has been useful in a pinch, though because my Wallet along with my phone and key organiser are the never leave home without items. It's for the 0.1% time I don't have tools in my pocket or in my backpack lol.

    I agree with a lot of comments below: it's gone too far, it's too much, and it probably wouldn't get used much. But I still have to fight a lot of temptation every time I see a cool looking gadget like this or it will wind up in my collection.

  • @form4li7y
    @form4li7y 2 месяца назад +5

    My big question is... How much weight can it hold? I know it won't be able to hold the weight that a real carabiner can but if it can't support some weight I can't see myself wanting it at that price. You can get a small multitool from roxon or nextool that has more tools for less that executes them better, and has a form factor better suited to the actual use of those tools. If a carabiner can't support the weight of a small secondary bag or item I'd rather get a real small multitool for less and a real carabiner that will serve it's purpose.

    Seems like a lot of functions. I would agree with you, it’s a bit gimmicky, and more of a conversation piece for an EDC collector.

    That carabiner is hexagonal, and one of them looks to be 90°. I would like to know if that is so, and whether any of the others is a commonly useful angles like 45, 30, 60, or either of the 3-4-5 right triangle acute angles.

    I'd much rather have a hero clip than that mess.
    It's the level, perhaps, that cracks me up the most. It's put on one of the shortest portions of the entire carabiner, which speaks most clearly to the fact they're just cramming in as much stuff as they can, without any regard to actual function.

    It's a monster and for me totally unusable, the tools might be useful, but I carry a decent tool kit, so superfluous for me. The James Brand Mehlville probably is my favourite looking Carabiner and it's nailed it in terms of the simplicity and the addition of the bottle opener, even that is way too big though. The one I have been using is from Spigen, nothing complicated, no bottle openeer, just a simple carabiner and it's worked great, and looks awesome with the Orbitkey system. I'd prefer the one with the Bottle Opener but it's a closed loop at the bottom, so I can't connect my Orbitkey setup.
    I feel like every EDC carabiner I see lately has been opting for overly complicated designs and adding more tools than anyone buying them is going to need. A reminder of keep it simple is needed.

  • @simonh6371
    @simonh6371 2 месяца назад

    I definitely think that having a spirit level in such a tool is just going too far. I mean in a situation where you need a spirit level you would most likely have more than just a carabiner. I could kind of understand if it were a carabiner with only tools needed for survival, like blade, woodsaw, ferro rod, awl etc. but not for home improvement tasks.

  • @ribstein7714
    @ribstein7714 2 месяца назад

    Idk if I actually trust the advertised 100kg (220lbs) load capacity with all the skeletonization around the level and scalpel. It's especially weird because it seems to be the same advertised capacity for both the titanium and aluminium, which can't possibly be true in practice (that is, unless I missed something). It would be cool to have someone test that because it would be pretty scummy to misrepresent the most important part of a carabiner

  • @toddcarr.

    A bit too gimiky sure it has some cool features but to use them seems counterintuitive for the most part with this large of a form factor. Not to mention how you decide you use it if as a keychain or for attaching things to a pack. Have to take everything off of it to use the features can be a pain.
