Zombicide got me into boardgames a couple years ago, I have them all. The thing I love the most is how you can make it your own, house ruling where your group feels it needs tweaking, creating your own missions and maps, it's completely customizable and always fun.
That's pretty much all CMON games which has cooled me off of their products. Their games are really pretty but there are always the same balance and rule issues due to lack of playtesting and I'm tired of having to tweak all of their games. It's their job, not mine.
@@xenondoro8573 kinda, if you listen to this review though they complain that black plague was too hard, my group feels like it is way too easy. It's a co-op game so it's balanced to a certain player skill point. You can't balance co-op games the same way you do normal games. My group makes house rules to make it harder, but I don't blame CMON for making it to easy because if they balanced it towards players like my group people who are new to gaming couldn't enjoy it.

I'm watching this, because Tom, Sam, and Zee discussing games is the heart of dice tower, kudos guys, please do more of this. I love dice chucking and randomness, but if a game doesn't give me an interesting decision on my turn, not a keeper. Now that all these other zombie games have come out, which would you guys suggest? I don't have any, and I'm torn between Black Plague, Invader, and Zomicide 2nd edition. I personally like modern and xeno over medieval, but will i miss out on the best version by not getting BP? I know it's the highest rated via BGG.
The KS campaign for this has ended. So will it be available to the general public eventually, or was it KS only? There was too much to click on when I searched the KS site to figure it out. Anyone know??
I Would like an upgrade for the original Zombie, Ex: plastic trays with survivor cards, addition of the armor, new rules like the target priority and so on....
From what I can see I would recommend Black Plague if you don´t hugely prefer the sci fi theme. Less fiddly and if you really want to you can implement the conzentrated fire rule from this one. I also like the art design a little bit better in Black Plague.
Got em all and have this one on the way Via Kick Starter. Out of all I preferred the Black Plague setting. Z-Cide classic got boring and had some rough spots. Think the last release was too tack on and they should have gone one more season with the military added in (vehicles, weapons, and tougher zombies). The Black Plague setting had sooo much more that could have been covered. The themes they could have covered was good for a few more years at least. By switching to the Sci Fi setting they killed all momentum for the Black Plague settings. No going back I think and this version has very limited expansion future. This may be the end of the Zombicide train ride for CMON.
Ken Redington I agree! I hope that they move back to medieval, but I have small hopes ( however with my kickstarter edition of zombicide GH I have still enough material for years :p )
I just sold my full pledge of green horde. Not my kind of game. To me it is too repetitive and after a couple of rounds it felt sluggish and boring. The idea seamed appealing but did not hit the table enough to stay in my collection. However, happy to see Miami Dice back.
Not sure how great the game will be, but I went all in anyway. I got no other zombicide games, I like miniatures and sci-fi, so... eh... It should be fun, and if not I should be able to sell the entire KS thing without too much of a los. But who knows, maybe it'll be great.
I am not sure if making dispatching the big boss easier in this game is a good idea. It always created a panic and horror when those big guys showed up in the original game or in Black Plague.
I went all-in on Black Plague and Green Horde, so had no desire to get this one. If I desperately needed to add a sci-fi game that bears a superficial resemblance, I would have thrown my wallet at Nemesis.
@@hmgrraarrpffrzz9763 But did you already own any of the other Zombicides? I completely understand where you're coming from if you do not, otherwise not so much.

i think it's not completely pasted on, because they have reversed the play style, i guess. Now you are more like defending when the horde is coming at you. Earlier you were probably exploring more than in this version.
That concentrated fire rule is a big deal. It is not a minor tweak. It up ends the entire franchise. Everything before Z:I is a puzzle game where you need to apply 1/2/3 damage weapons and/or rely on super strength (+1 dmg) characters and Molotov/Dragon bile or... you Benny Hill from Abominations. This is the first or only Zombicide where it is a combat game rather than a puzzle game. This then opens up the floodgates for the value and cinematic presence of more and different Abominations. Targeting priority and mold dovetail well into this idea. As does the focus on ranged combat again. I was looking at moving these rules back to traditional zombicide, but it won't work. You need everything (spawns, draw decks, mold, priority, etc.) tuned to the accelerated pacing of Z:I. I suspect play throughs of higher difficulty scenarios with expansion abomination/aliens thrown in will show how changed the game is now.
Okay a bit of a rant: Is it too much to ask CMON to include custom dice for their Zombicide games that aren't a KS exclusive? Seriously, great art and minis and boring, drab red dice, you find a cheap poker set from Wal-Mart.. And why only 6? What are you guys, FFG? Stop being so stingy, I mean a pack of 12 dice of the same size and slightly better quality(chessex) is 5 bucks on amazon. Okay, rant over, but theme here seems pretty interesting here, I love horror settings in space. But I have so much for Green Horde at this point, I'm not sure I can fit this in, and I like the zombies in medieval times theme a bit more. Still seems like another solid entry into the Zombicide universe, but I think we can take a break from Zombicide at this point. How about a big box expansion for Blood Rage, CMON?
Zombies in space - not really seeing enough changes to make me run out and invest in it. Zcide was great, BP was better, Z:I is just too much of a re-skin for me. Rather than coming out wit the same essential game, CMON needs to try something to make the existing franchises better. Perhaps coming up with a campaign system for BP that includes a scenario generator, so you have other choices rather than playing the same missions over & over. Just my opinion.
Looks great! Still prefer the fantasy theme so Black Plague for me, I don't like how the tiles look in Green Horde and the Horde mechanics in itself is not that much fun so BP for me but this is a close second :)
I usually like dice combat, but this seems way too random. Rolling 5 dice and randomly getting anywhere between 0 and 5 hits just doesn't sound like fun to me.
