This is my favorite zombicide so far the rules are so clean and theme just works so well. The train and gattling gun and gunslinging just make for a rowdy fun time. And this one is hard enough to keep you coming back even without expansion zombies and abominations
Love this game! It's the first Zombicide I've ever purchased. I played it with my brother for the first time the other weekend and we had a great time. All the abominations in the Deadwest box are so awesome! Thanks ya'll for the review!
I think they did well with giving each survivor a unique aesthetic, in the Core Box, at least. The two closest in appearance are probably Hanna (female townsfolk in a hat and dress) and Molly (female gunslinger in a hat and dress). The rest of them are as diverse as I think you could expect in an "Old West" theme. I can see things getting a little muddled with the Dead West box, though I gotta admit I love the idea of playing with Characters based on Yule Brenner, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, etc.
I think the lack of variety Zee is finding is mostly from an aesthetic perspective, because as Camilla pointed out there are several classes that differentiate the survivors to some degree. But it is part of the nature of the Western genre that visually there will be a lot of similar looks - trench coats, cowboy hats, chaps, etc. I thought the designers and artists really incorporated about as much variety in appearances as made sense, but it is limited by the genre.
I came very close to buying 2nd edition as my first zombicide game. So glad I saw this. My mate and I played our first game the other night and absolutely loved it. I don’t think Massive Darkness will be played for a long while now.
Zee mentioned he loves Western + Super natural themed games. Would love to hear his take on Shadows of Brimstone- which could use all the minis from this version of Zombicide in it as well.
The microphones felt strange in this one - almost felt like Camilla was a voiceover. I’m glad people keep finding love in Zombicide. I feel like I’ve seen what I need to see in it. This series has fallen to minor iteration, not innovation, which is fine for new hobbyists or diehard fans.
They probably used alot of compression on her personal microphone due to a low/weak voice, while they all normally have alot of room/overhead mic mixed in. I actually prefer it that way. I really dislike ambient sound on reviews, podcasts, etc.
Just to be clear, zombicide Invader is not an "easy game". There are mechanics that could lessen your situational grief but don't jinx yourself especially with those mold spawns. 😅
invader is my favorite, the classes sort of come from that one (citizen or solider), i liked 2.0 too, I got this but havent played it yet as I don't care for western theme only my friends do. I passed on marvel zombies because my friends didnt care for that theme but it feels like a slight regret.
It’s unbelievable how much money this game keeps making . Now they are launching a new version sadly I’m so burnt out but good for everyone else who still enjoys it . The new one coming is been on a lot of people’s radar .
I've never played Zombicide. Backed the Marvel one because I wanted to paint the minis, but got a refund with the stupid high shipping. I'm interested in the new one because it sounds like it's more tower defense than traditional zombicide. So we'll see.
@@maxducoudray For most people there's pleany of content in that box. For the price point there's far more value than most base copies of a Zombicide have. Most folks are not going to play the game enough to need more content and spend the big bucks.
@@justanerd1138 I think the larger retail box is a much better value over time. Using the same four tiles every game and seeing the same very small group of enemy heroes each game becomes repetitive quickly. We got bored of the Heroes Resistance box after about four scenarios because they all felt the same. I’ve never had that experience with a full-sized Zombicide core set.
Its easy to use four characters you just use two spawn points instead of three. Simples. Or use one spawn point with two characters. It alters the game a little bit having just one initial spawn point but thats good. The explanations in the back of the book need to be placed on the character cards and other cards. Or they need to include a separate card to reference. The cowboy one doesnt seem very intersting to me, same as the present Chinese one. They should do a pirate one that would be good as long as it wasnt stuck on a ship. But I feel the games are overpriced thats their main problem. They are good but they are vastly overpriced. When you consider you can get Gloomhaven for the same price, its mad.
Depends. White Death sounds like it main focus is almost as a tower defense, which could work fantastic in the system or just be a flop. Especially if they tune the difficulty way down like they apparently did for Invader. That said they do keep getting cleaner and more streamlined which is a huge plus. Also white Death is adding decks specifically for the Abomination and Necromancers as they act differently due to the tower defense focus.
gunslinger class CAN fan any pistol (otherwise use that pistol normally with dice number/succes like every other class) or they MUST fan any pistol? thank you
Invader had two classes of survivors and the abomination moves if you run out of minis so those were not new to this game. However, the single noise token looks fantastic and I will need to try the other new things before I have an opinion on them. Lastly, they almost always recommend 6 survivors, but we play with 4 and do fine in all Zombicide games (usually win, sometimes lose). If you don’t trust their estimated play time, why are you so rigid in trusting their recommended number of survivors? Thanks for the review.
We need a Zombicide video describing all the mechanic changes throughout the Zombicide versions, please!

Everyone seems to start with a gun. So other than the special items the dynamite and Gatling gun, you are looking for better guns.
The train is a lot less fidly if you use an actual mini too - everything makes much more sense thematically - fab fun!
Love to see Bruce Campbell reviewing a zombie game.
Joey calling Zombicide a "no-brainer"... These are the jokes.
"Back from the deaaaad!"
The “expansion” with all the movie characters is a must have.
Which one would that be?
This is the Zombicide I happily have because I wanted the western theme over more sci-fi or fantasy themes. Can’t wait to play more

I fully backed this one to get a zombicide game on my shelf. Don’t get to table it enough but it’s fun and really difficult.
Greatly explained. Thank you!

Although I'm a big Zombicide fan, I was tempted to get this mainly to use the minis in Shadows of Brimstone.
"so close..." made laught more than I expected! Good job, folks!
Supernatural western genre is called Weird West. One of the best genres.
"Balconies" (or towers) were in Wulfsburg. I believe that was the first use of them.

Joey's mic was off too I think

One of our favorite Zombicides too
Between the two reviews on the channel I have to say this is probably the Zombicide I would not mind trying.

They should have a Deadlands (it's a well developed RPG setting with cowboys, steam punk, magic and horror) collaboration to add more diversity to it.
The Gears and Guns expansion adds the steam punk element improving the game further with additional dice and an excellent 10 part campaign.
I love Shrinking! Your show rocks!
@DiceTower Please, make a review of the Campaign Expansion Gears & Guns.
My favorite zombicide game!
Sounds like one of the mics aren't working?

@@codydavis3100 Pick up Marvel Zombies Hero's Resistance. It's $35 at retail. Gives you the experience at a very reasonable price.
@@justanerd1138 I can’t agree with this advice. It doesn’t have enough content to keep it fresh game to game.

CMON is obviously iterating with each campaign, so obviously White Death is going to be the best version of the game to date.

Classes in this are definitely an evolutionary step up from Invader.
Camilla's lav the only one working?
Yes it is the best version❤☺️love it more than marvel zombies. Not a fan of the hunger mechanic.
A seal excellence!? Come on..... really?
What would you have given it
