Hi Paige, just coming back on here to say if it wasn't for you I would not had the nerve to update my website without hiring someone. With your tutorials you helped me take the plunge and saved me a lot of money. I put it off for ages, and kept getting worked up about it, but now I am so much more confident and learning a bit more each time. Now on for watching your blog page tutorials. Thank you so much again. xx
Awe Lorraine thank you kindly for taking the time to share your kind words! I’m so happy to have helped and am even more thrilled toy know now you can manage it yourself! That’s a big win heading into the new year! ❤️
Good point! You can change the order, size and location of blocks on just one device - but any block settings (like changing the header type, or text alignment will carry over across mobile & desktop. Thank you kindly for clarifying!!
Your instruction is much more understandable and easy to follow than some of the guys who speak 90 MPH and have their cursor all over the internet. I think I understand most of Squarespace now. Thank you.
Fabulous question - it could be because you're on an earlier version of Squarespace (7.0 as opposed to 7.1) or sometimes Squarespace rolls out new/ different look navigations to different users at different times. A secret hack that I love is to hit the forward slash button and then search for the menu item you're trying to find - it's a super handy dandy way to find all the things even when Squarespace moves them around!
Hey, thanks for this tutorial. I just wanted to ask how do I go about changing the font on only 1 heading? I just want to change the first heading which overlays my image x
Thanks for this, but I noticed that when you edited text in mobile view (centered it erc), it did change on desktop. Is there any way to change text just on mobile view?
Thanks for your sweet words - and great question! You can edit the size of your text block and it's location on mobile - but if you want your text to *be* different (eg a different color, different words, different fonts on mobile as opposed to desktop, you'd have to use a spot of CSS for that! Hope that helps & thanks for following along!
Much better than any other tutorial I've seen. QUESTION: I've placed a piece of art along the top of the home page and would like to place type over it....Site name, navigation, etc...How do I get blocks over that art image? Gracias. 🧐
@PaigeBrunton thank you for your informative video. I bought a squarespace annual subscription and domain. Trying to polish my website. How do I list more services on my page as the default only has 4. I am using the template for services
Fabulous question! You'll want an email marketing software for that one - which you can then connect with your website. Check out this video where I walk through setting up convertkit (my fave!) ruclips.net/video/r_Xg6drUJT4/видео.html
Hi Paige great tutorial. I use Canva for graphics and am looking for a website builder that is compatible and one that I can add a payment gateway. Do you have a tutorial on this, or any advice. I am new to Squarespace. Would you recommend it versus Six?
Fabulous question! If you look as you're building your site you'll see the features that are premium labelled as so, so you can avoid them if you plan not to choose the Business plan! Good luck!
Quicktime on my mac! Find it gives a much crisper quality than loom (I then record myself using the inbuilt camera on my mac & my editor works their magic to pop my face over the screen recording!)
You could, but I probably wouldn't recommend it. People most often buy templates because they're afraid of the tech and if you say the word code, they might just faint and/or not buy for fear of CSS.
Hey there! Thank you for this amazing walkthrough. I'm editing my website as I watch your video, and I noticed immediately that my navigation doesn't look the same as yours. For instance, my Site Styles page doesn't have the font pack UI. Is it because my website template is on Squarespace 7.0?
Awww thank you Liya! If you're on Squarespace 7.0 it'll be because of that yes! I have a tutorial for that here in case it's useful! ruclips.net/video/CIDTXzJFGAI/видео.html
I have the new edit column that begins with "website." And in edit mode, it doesn't look the same as it does when public. Why is that? I love your tutorials. You are so clear and helpful and inspiring!
Awwee thank you kindly for taking the time to say! Yep - the Squarespace menu has changed - top tip for you - hit forward slash and then you can search any menu item by typing it into the search bar. Oh & why your site doesn't look the same in edit mode - is it something in particular? It may be that it's a case of screen dimensions (Squarespace is responsive so it'll look slightly different on different screens). If not, try asking Squarespace support - they're the loveliest & should be able to tell you for your specific case!
Thank you for this walk-thru. When it comes to the scheduling blcok, for those of us who are legacy Acuity users, does it make sense to somehow sign-up for scheduling thru SS and so long as I can keep my content? Today, I still have a separate log in, and can embed my calendar, but I can't use the built-in block.
Fabulous question! It could do... but it's worth checking if you're on a pricing plan that's still offered - I know that some people ended up needing to pay more by switching, so defs recommend checking with Squarespace support first!
Fabulous question!! Soooo Squarespace have rejigged their menu - I *think* it's more logical but it defs means some things are harder to find - so quick tip for ya! Hit the / button to search the menu item you're looking for & you'll go straight to it without having to click through all the menu levels! SUCH a great timesaver!!
I have a quick question - why does my template not have the same options as the one you are showing. I have tried various templates and they all show the following on the left hand side. - Website, Selling, Marketing, Contacts, Analytics, Acuity Scheduling. I do not have Pages... all the stuff that you hava on the left hand side. This is my first time doing this and I am not sure if I am doing something wrong.
Is there a way to make an edit and have it edit on every page site wide? Mine is a block that has two buttons within it. It's a coin information site so I have hundreds of pages to do this to!
Fabulous question! You can do this in your header or footer... orrr my fave hack is to add a summary block & then I can auto-update that everywhere - here's a blogpost that should help! www.paigebrunton.com/blog/squarespace-summary-block-hack-edit-multiple-blog-posts
Thanks for sharing this ;-) A bit off topic for this video, but since you share so many great and helpful videos I thought you might be able to help🌱 I want to create a Squarespace website with two languages manually (where you choose language from the landing page). Do you have a link / know of a guide to the best way to do this in 2023? I don't want to use Weglot - to keep my expenses down in the beginning (free version only allows up to 2,000 words). Thanks a lot in advance;-)
Ah great question! I think that Brad Good has a step by step tutorial on this one - www.bradgood.net/articles/multi-language-content-on-any-squarespace-template It requires some code confidence but I know some people who've used it & found it helpful!
Hi Thanks for this useful video I have 2 questions regarding SS. My daughter started her baking blog few months ago. It was working well for the first month and started to show ads from adsense, but suddenly, at the end of May, they put a limit on the ads due to invalid traffic, and we still have the same problem although I tried some solution based on some videos? The other problem is adding ads.txt file on the root of the website. I followed some videos and tutorials I found but still " not found" and recently they send that " our revenue at risk"? Is it right that there is no option on SS to have ads.txt on thd root, and SS is not the right option platform for Adsense? Plz help Thanks in advance
Awe how lovely, well done to her starting the baking blog! Hmm I can’t say I know off the top of my head the solution, but I do know Squarespace works just perfectly with Adsense. I’d reach out to Squarespace live chat, their support teams are fabulous and should be able to lend a hand!
So I tried making a site today and I already have a Square account because I use their reader and I'm having a hard time making a site I can't add anything
You don’t seem to follow any of the layout rules. Your heading should follow the page flow. The headers have hierarchy, they aren’t just about size. It looks like you can write custom code on the page, how well does that work?
A friend has given me a contributor invitation to try out a platform for free over a 6-month period. I would like to know if it's possible to personalize my account before I start using it. In your video, the AI was very helpful in the beginning, so I'm hoping to receive similar support. The link I have to access the platform didn't ask me any questions to personalize it. I would appreciate your answer!
Ahhh fabulous question! Sadly not - you can usually get a domain for free for one year when you sign up for an annual plan, but it doesn't work the other way. I have an affiliate code PAIGE10 that you can use for 10% off if that helps!
@@PaigeBrunton When you renew your subscription after a year, has Squarespace been giving another year of domain registration free or do you start paying for the domain at that point?

100% beginner... I see you have multiple videos for absolute beginners.. So where should I start? My site will be a gallery base site. I am a furniture maker with a large quantity of pieces to show but no eCommerce.
This is helpful (thanks), but the larger question is whether website building is going to be done by A.I. in the very near future. I'm not at all certain that it's worthwhile to learn Squarespace, WordPress, or any other builder.

How will it be much different? A client can grab a Wordpress template and have it up and ready in 2 minutes. Same with Squarespace or Wix but instead they look for someone who knows what they're doing.
