    Great video Sharon. Who created the video for the home page? I was curious what tool is used to splice together something like this for non-videographer websites. Have you done that also?

    • @SharonMarta
      @SharonMarta  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks Kelly. Great question, his videos are amazing. Since this was for a videographer, he made his own video montage. But, I have made video montages before. If you want to take a stab at it yourself, you can use Canva.

    I currently have an Etsy shop and a Shopify store. Shopify is just so expensive with all of the apps you need so I am moving to Squarespace. I love how you can get the look you want on Squarespace without paying a ton of money for paid templates. I do have a question though. How long should a website be as far as the home page?

    • @SharonMarta
      @SharonMarta  2 месяца назад

      Great question. I do have a formula for structuring a homepage so that people get to know you, like and turn from a cold lead into a warm lead. I have a free high-converting website content planner on my website under "resources"

    Great video thank you my freelancer created a Square Space website for me and I have two issues with Square Space website selling my photography 100 photos and nine categories and you’re not able to move the category for ones to the next without going back to the gallery link to go to the next category he says he can’t fix that. He says it’s a Square Space limitation the second issue is that my photos are moving in and out for staying stable and they are moving in and out randomly from small to Large Over the different nine categories do you know if this is Square Space limitation or that my freelancer doesn’t know how to fix it thank you so much Morganne

    • @SharonMarta
      @SharonMarta  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi Morganne, I'm not sure what's going on without seeing it from the inside. I know you can have more than 100 products to sell with Squarespace and I've never had photos randomly go small to large. That seems odd.

    The picture at the 15:08 mark, did you create that picture with boarder in squarespace or you did it on illustrator and brought it over?

    • @SharonMarta
      @SharonMarta  3 месяца назад +1

      Actually, that is done inside Squarespace. It's a shape block that is placed behind the image and text block.

    For overlapping, just to confirm, you are just adding a color block, setting it and then adding a picture over it correct?

    • @SharonMarta
      @SharonMarta  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you can overlap any element in Squarespace 7.1 Fluid engine. You can overlap images over color blocks, you can also overlap text over images or color blocks.

      @@SharonMarta I am trying to add a picture and then have like a color block behind it to give it texture. I currently have a picture, should I move the picture, our down colorbock, move the picture over it and set that picture as an overlay? I tried to do it but the color block color kinda went over the picture? Like blended in?
      Might be simple but can you do a video just to show the overlay and settings? I couldn’t get it exactly from this video

    • @SharonMarta
      @SharonMarta  6 месяцев назад

      @@MrNeutronics Hmm... I'm not quite understanding what you're trying to do. Are you trying to edit the photo to give it a texture. Is it something you can do in Canva or Photoshop and then bring in the photo to Squarespace?

    • @MrNeutronics

      @@SharonMarta I’m trying to give the picture a boarder essentially, I was thinking I could do a color block and then put the picture over it leaving 2 corners uncovered so it looks like there’s a boarder/overlay. Does that make sense? Yes I was thinking I could do it on canva too n then bring it over

    As a wedding videographer myself I have to say your squarespace design skills are next level!
    I haven’t ask since I do something similar, when you have that video playing in the background of the header.. once you go into mobile view it’s just a thumbnail.. how do you work around that

    • @SharonMarta
      @SharonMarta  8 месяцев назад

      Aw.. Thank you so much! I appreciate that especially coming from a wedding videographer. Regarding the video background, are you using Squarespace 7.1? It should play even in mobile view. The Squarespace Circle forum is a great place to get your tech issues solved. If you've designed at least 3 sites you can get into the forum.
