The Marie Forleo site banner is now full width and video 😆 I think with anything the best to do is what works for your business and your audience and not worry so much about trends.
This was so helpful! I've been noticing the BIG FONTS trend, but hadn't articulated it yet, and I will be SO happy to see the beige website trend come to an end! :) Thanks for this vid, Paige!
Ow… well that was illuminating! I already was “off” scripty and pink. But hadn’t put new thought into services or header images… I like this, time for some new design, more white space and less lining things up…
Great video! I'll re-think a feeew of the choices I've made on my not yet published website😅 About the all beige being over-used and that trends that com fast also leaves fast. Could you give examples of the opposite (if that exists) - timeless web design trends? Perhaps I´ll pop the question in the group next week 😃
Hi Paige, Can you guide me on how to add a hamburger to my header? I like the simplicity and organization of that look and cannot figure out how that is done. Thank you for all you do!
Great video! Really love the direction of abstract website accents (instead of icons) and more movement / caught in the moment photography happening over the staged looks. I do find that some of the new trends are more time consuming to create (animated features, non-grid unique layouts). Which isn't a bad thing, just means I maybe need to relook at my pricing.
Seems to me an unfortunate waste of page real estate which makes it boring to have to spend so much time scrolling to that which is pertinent. Black and white doesn't cut it for those of us who grew up with B&W TV.
Mmm valid question. I guess public perception really. We all know shoulder pads and giant hair is 80's and out. The same is with site design. I guess people who are closer to it & look at it daily like I am, I'm just able to realize these changes in trends faster than most. Give anyone a website from 1995 though and they could tell you it's outdated haha.
I still find a lot of "scripty" fonts on websites, especially when the target audience is women. I think that this design choice is deeply connected to the outdated idea that feminine means (only) softness, sweetness, pureness. So, in my humble opinion, no one should choose this kind of fonts because they are difficult to read and, and mostly, 100% anti-feminist. That's incredible how even a design choice can speak about the time we are living. 🙂
@PaigeBrunton Not sure you saw my comment here but I am genuine interested in hearing your thoughts to this so just trying again Thanks in advance - best from Susanne

Incase you ever thought your life was trivial , remember this woman exists 😂

Love everything thing you said but I would prefer photos somewhere in between blurred and professional.
Your Squarespace course teaches outdated design, will you be updating it?
How do these translate to mobile? (Specifically the unaligned photos and text). I struggle with this!
Paige, what color will your website be soon? Because it's all beige! 😂

mmm I fully support that pricing idea! exceptionally websites means pricing to match!
I want to design my services layout like the one you showed at the 3:00 mark, could you do a tutorial on how to create that design?
I’m in the process of designing my own website so this was really timely advice!
Awe yay! Best of luck with the site design Bethany! And do tell, which platform are you building the site on?!
I’m on Squarespace! I’ve been on there for a while but am switching my focus from my fine art to wedding stationery. ❤
@@PaigeBrunton Squarespace!😉
thanks for the video! very inspiring!
Is it possible to do a partly movement (9.45 of your video) on the squarespace design?
This was so helpful and insightful! Appreciate!
You're so welcome Kelly!

Who decides what's outdated and what's in? (genuine question)?
