Made with a simple homemade meatball recipe, store bought marinara sauce, all the Italian cheeses, and your favorite Hawaiian slider buns, these griddle sliders are sure to be a hit at your next party or even just on your family’s dinner table!
Start by making the homemade meatballs meat mixture and forming into individual meatballs. A thing of beauty and a joy to behold! As my wife used to say.
hahaha I hear ya...
Mmmmmmmmm, Oh Yes, another great and very easy recipe, will definitely give this one a try. Happy Memorial Day and God Bless all of Our Veterans. Take care and stay safe.
Yes Sir...thanks Robert....Happy Memorial Day
I have been noticing you have been upping your game lately, and this is a prime example of that.
I appreciate that....Cheers
These look amazing, gonna have to try this one!
Brilliant observation by Amy. GO AMY GO!
ahahah Thanks bud
Ok I made sure I am commenting on the right channel now! 😆 these look absolutely amazing!! Definitely gonna be trying these!
Heck Yeah....really appreciate that...
This is Amazing! Thank you!
Thank you...
As a full-blooded Italian, I approve of the way you made your meatballs. 😁 They are very similar to the way I make mine. Great job and a great idea, smash meatball sliders. I can't wait to try this.
Hey know that a complement...thank you
That's exactly how CJ does his smashburgers without sticking to the flippers; brown the bottom side, flip it, then smash it. It's a great method. I'm sure you have loads of experience in the griddle from the Navy, and hats off to you! I hope you enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend.
Hey absolutely...really had a fun time...thanks for reaching out...Cheers
Those look spectacular!
Thanks Bud...
Absolutely love your channel!!!
Hey I appreciate that..
The passion is real… you are very inspiring. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Really appreciate that Arnold...thank you
👍👍👍gotta make it
Looks great
Thanks
Going to have to try this one. Got my order of Smash That and just tried it out today…Awesome👍
Heck yeah Brother...thanks and hope you enjoy....
This looks great! it also gives me a lot of ideas. Thanks, guys.
Absolutely and thank you
Those will work for anyone, super job Neil and Amy. Gotta love those sliders. Stay safe and keep the fun in there too. Fred.
Thanks Fred...Cheers and Happy Memorial Day
Another Great video
Thanks
Looks delicious...👍👍
Thanks Clint....
You never disappoint!! What a fire recipe and cook this one was!
I appreciate that...Cheers
Those looked absolutely delicious, Neal. I think I'm gonna have to try this one out. Great video. Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
You as well...Cheers...
Been trying for almost 30 years to perfect Nona’s meatball recipe. I added nearly stale bread and the sautéed chopped onions about 5 tears ago and the family says I’ve done it. Oh and freshly grated cheese is a must. Now to makes sliders instead of subs. Thanks.
Absolutely....cheers
THAT IS GOING ON THE LIST TO COOK.....SOON!
Absolutely....sio dang good....
Wow! Love your recipe for the meatballs, especially the ricotta addition! Going to have to give this one a try. My mouth is watering!
Thanks bud...It really does helps stay moist and tender...Cheers..
Meatball slodders.
Looks good. Also noticed you have a new dome. Thanks
yeah...Traeger sent it with a few other things...just testing out...
Nearly at the 100 K Neil👍🏻👍🏻wont be long now👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎🏴
Getting close for sure...cheers...
Another successful idea Neal! That looks delicious, have to try this out! Have a nice holiday weekend, cheers 🍻
Thank You...Cheers...
You have very good ideas Neal l guess because of all the experience that you have from the Navy plus cooking for your family. It looks so delicious👍. Great job on those sliders. You knock it out of the ballpark with this recipe.👏👏
Really Appreciate that...thanks
Now I'm hungry..😋👌
haahahh thats the goal for sure
Ha. I just made meatball subs when I got those amoroso rolls. Brilliant minds. I put Boursin and ricotta in them. Game changer
You said it ....now i need to do it...have have that boursin saved...
I agree with Amy, that definitely looks like a winner my guy ✊🏼🧐! And like you said, great idea for a grab & go for guests. Shoot I might give this a go for our family Memorial Day potluck. Excellent idea/cook Brotha, cheers y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
Cheers MIke....have a blast for sure....
Yum!
Thank you
I've been craving a hot sub sandwich for awhile, and I do believe this will fill the ticket! Looks wonderful. Also reminds me that I need to plant some basil
Yes sir....
Oh yumm
Thanks Greg
That cheese pull made me laugh, love it. That poor basil. I have had that happen. Now I buy basil at the nursery, they seem to do much better.
The rolls you used look perfect. For meatball sliders I don't want a really hard rolls but I don't want rolls that are too soft and fall apart.
As store bought marinara goes, Rao's is the best. Not too sweet like many others.
Nicely done!
Hey great idea...on the basil....thank you....spot on the bread as well
Matt's Show Notes:
1. That's a great meatball recipe!
2. I always sautee onion, and sometimes add a little red bell pepper when making meatballs.
3. I rarely follow even my own recipes. I agree, it's a guideline to go by.
4. Gotta do the 3 meat blend.
5. Please make your own ricotta. It's super easy, and immensely better. I have a video on my channel on how to do it.
6. I always let that crust build. Best way to get no sticking to the griddle or the spatula.
7. Love the 2 cheese mix.
8. Always go with the fresh herbs. Sorry about your first basil, that didn't look good😂
9. I'll conclude. These looked absolutely perfect. I love your breakdown of not having the same ingredients as the recipe. Those sliders? I'd eat a whole platter! As always, excellent work!
Very well said..thanks Matt...truly
Love the idea….would prolly use regular buns, not a fan of sliders…It has been a while, but used to mix meatball recipe and serve as a meat patty with potato and salad! Yours look delicious!!
Yes sir....thanks
Those look absolutely delicious 🤤
Thanks bud....Happy Memorial Day
@@TheFlatTopKing Happy Memorial Day Neal!!
I just found your channel..where did you buy that johnsonville chorizo from your breakfast burrito vid??? li looked sooooo good
Hey thanks for stopping by...well not sure I shop at 4 local stores and I know not all have them...if I remember correctly Krogers....has them dont hold me to it...
Those look insanely delicious Neal! Excellent idea with the meatballs. I probably could have eaten all 6 of them! Cheers buddy!
Heck yeah...Cheers Jay...what are you making today
Not sure yet....either gonna grill steaks or smoke some pork tenderloins...you?
@@jaybooth4815 we celebrated yesterday. Made fried bacon street corn dip, pig shots and home made white chocolate rice crispy treats. Today I’m working hahahaa.
@@TheFlatTopKing oooh man those pig shots are delicious looking! Sucks you have to work today. Cheers buddy!
Buon lavoro! (Good job!) 🇮🇹🇺🇲
I appreciate that....Grazie
When I was young and lived in Denver, most of the local Italian restaurants made a sandwich like that, but on a hoagie roll. The interesting addition was always a roasted hatch green Chile.
that does sound interesting...thanks MIke...what part of Colorado...I used to live in Wyoming
@@TheFlatTopKing Denver/ Westminster. Where in Wyoming,?
@@mikeharlan9229 Well lets start with Lusk, or Torrington, or specifically Jay Em...ahahhaah
Oh yeah! Those look delicious..... Making them this weekend definitely! Maybe with a little garlic butter brushed on top and a sprinkle of Parm..... Looks like a great recipe, your meatballs are close to what I make already, but, I struggle to find the pork veal blend.... Or veal period.....
Sounds like a very good extra for sure...cheers
Exceptional late night griddle lesson. Grabbing the recipe now. I like this one, kinda an all around table offering. Your recipe combination for making the meatballs adds a great taste expansion to an old favorite, and your right, gandma would have popped you if you asked about gloves. She would say she did wash her hands, this mornin.
hahahaha she absolutely would have...thanks Craig and Happy Memorial Day
@@TheFlatTopKing , Happy Memorial Day Brother, God Bless you and yours.
I did ground chicken parms a couple days ago. Very similar type of recipe minus the fresh herbs. The fam thought it was a hit.
Does sound good...the ricotta, eggs, parm and bread would keep the chicken moist as well...great idea
That looke really good. Hey Neil, my TO DO list is getting bigger again. Yuh ou know, your really good at this. You should have a You Tube Channel, lol.
haahahah That mean alot Bruno...you have been around a while and appreciate that...
Man.. Left the live stream to finish watching this video and I can say that it’s next on my list 😮💨😮💨🤤 14:14
hahah Man I appreciate that...truly...thanks Jake
I love showing the alternative ingredients, I do get nervous when I can’t follow something to the letter on recipes so that was all reassuring
Great news...thanks TJ...
Yes, I can cook on the fly. But I know people that are completely lost if they don't have a step by step recipe to the letter. So I always appreciate someone that can simplify things and give you suggestions along the way in a cook, Neal is always on point.
Sure you're not Italian bro? Cuz that's one sick meatball recipe, and I'm pretty sure I've made about 30, 000 meatballs in my day!!! Amazing meatball mix man, just perfect!!! 💯🔥
hhaahha I will take it with a badge of honor for sure...I appreciate that...
Mama Mia that’s a great ah meatballl slider 🤌🏼
Yes Yes it is....so good...that meatball recipe is really good
I really like that tip in the beginning where you broke up the packaged meat with a fork. Out of the package its so tight its hard to mix things in without really working it. With your trick that is solved.
Yes sir...thanks Raymond appreciate that...
i don't really comment all that much.. BUT DAMN, i gotta try this!
Hey bud....comment anytime...thanks and Cheers
Yum. Where did you get your dome with the hole in it?
Traeger griddle kit
No way..., Mama got her own half. Looks amazing. I did the Rueben smash this past weekend with the "Smash That" seasoning, it was awesome. I may have missed it but what is the black board you're prepping on?
Heck yeah.....those are dangerously good..its just a black cutting board...
I like how you use a stiff fork. I prefer a floppy fork.
13:50 😋😋😋
Alright, Mama says.."you gotta make those baby" lol Also, if you are ever in an Italian Grandma's kitchen. Don't tell her she needs to wear gloves or you will Not get any food! lol. Great recipe brother!
hhaahhaha aint that the truth....people these days....
best bun for burgers is Mrs Bairds large sesame hamburger bun...just saying heheh
What is that steaming cover with the hole for water?
Its a new item from Traeger I am trying out...its a dome in their griddle kit...
@@TheFlatTopKing Thanks. Would love to know your assessment over time. I'll be back in the USA in Aug., if that's good I'd love to get one.
Mmmm.
Absolutely....
there is a Nexgrill griddle top at Home Depot for 179.00. Do you think you could do a review on it for people, like me, that dont have the money to throw down on the expensive ones you have
Well im definitely not against it...i do have on the deck thats never been seen before and another one coming....I will probably wait awhile before any others...but I will see what I can do
I thought maybe you makind de-hydrated Bazil. Lol
ahhahahaha its pitiful for sure...i actually saved it to see if I could keep growing it...
@@TheFlatTopKing 👍
Aren't you glad you are now into grating your own, real, cheese?
My Italian born and raised mother never, as in NEVER, wore gloves when cooking anything.
We may need to change Amy's nickname from Microwave Queen to Mozzarella Mama after that bite.🤣
hahahahaah she has a ton of Names and this one will stack up nicely...
👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄on my list
Man i have to say....reach back out if you really make these..those meatballs were just absolutely fantastic....flavor and juicy
Nonna would say "If i need gloves you need to leave my house" but maybe not that nicely.
hahhahahah I hear ya.....
I don't have a problem with people mixing the meat with their bare hands--I just don't understand why they never remove their rings first.
Now that I completely understand....
Your comment about telling an Italian Grandma wearing gloves made me laugh. People really are ignorant about how much heat kills germs.
Its ridiculous the comments...for sure....even on med rare...when they say=uuuggghhh thats RAW....just shake my head
Meatball Slaughters???
Thats all you got out of this whole video what my speech...thanks
Grab & Go? That used to be my stripper name! 😅😂😊
hahhahaha I thought it was Slider....ahahahah
.....HOLD UP! where did you get that dome? You acting like that's something we have all seen!
ahaahahaha Just a kit that Traeger sent me to try out...I typically don't talk about stuff untl I have a understanding of good and bad...so I have to use it when filming to do that...so far its a hit for sure
@@TheFlatTopKing well that's cool! So it's not for sale yet?
@@MrScubajsb yeah it is. Its in a kit they offer.
@@TheFlatTopKing oh ok awesome! Thanks
@@TheFlatTopKing I love it, but that's a pricey kit! Maybe they will have a sale soon 😌
