BBQ Chicken Sandwich on the GRIDDLE - with Bacon Onion Whiskey Jam - SO GOOD!

- Опубликовано: 15 окт 2024
- Want a new griddle sandwich recipe to try? This BBQ Chicken Sandwich on the griddle is made with a BBQ chicken breast and it is SO GOOD! The wife and I devoured this griddle chicken sandwich, bun and all! And we were wishing that we had made more of them.
I'll show you a trick to get a nice juicy chicken breast on the griddle that has a slightly crispy crust. Then we'll make an easy homemade bacon onion jam right on the griddle top. Add in a little Whiskey if you like, or leave it out... this onion bacon jam is fantastic either way. Just make sure that you have a vinegary BBQ sauce to balance the sweetness of the jam, or you can add some apple cider vinegar to your barbecue sauce.
Add some dill pickles, sliced raw onion, mayonnaise, or a slice of pepper jack cheese to your brioche bun for a FANTASTIC barbecue chicken sandwich on the griddle!

Can I just say, thank you for actually talking about how you can improve this. I hate cooking channels where everything they do is perfect. I really enjoyed your comments about the chicken to bun ratio.
Thank you..not sure how much you have watched of my channel...there are actually videos where i make Something and just flat out say dont make it...either I messed up or just not worth the hype...or just flat out missing flavor...
That bacon/onion jam is the bomb on smash burgers as well. Keep up the awesome work.
That cutting board is awesome!!!!!
Yes...we love it...
Amy wasn't playing around with her bite of that awesome looking bbq chicken sandwich. LOL!
You got that right!
You're literally incapable of making a bad sandwich!!! Damn bro, this was one of your best ones yet!!! 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Hey this one just hit so dang good....the balance what spot on
That jam was on point. Looked great. I like the idea of frying the lightly breaded chicken in all that bacon fat. Must taste fantastic.
Love the shoutout to ingles!! Great video brother keep it up!
It looks very delicious Neal 👍. The taste test says it all with that look. If you think that its hot in Tennessee come to Arizona. We just started with the monsoons. Great recipe Neal. Really liked how you made the jam. Can't wait for your new seasoning.👍
I bet.....thanks bud
I start salivating when ever you are cooking!
yes sir...
Thanks for being an everyday type fella we all can relate to. Cooking , in all ways , is my passion. I love my Pit Boss smoker and now my flat top is a mainstay for dinners.. So many good recipes on here. I, like you, add my own twist when I feel I need to.
I appreciate that
Mmmmmmmm, That was another great looking sandwich and simple to make to, I like that. I will definitely try this sandwich. Try to stay cool, LOL, 92 here in Prescott with 16 % humidity, enjoy.
Another good video Neal, Amy ,today Monday I got the seasioning in the mail house sitting for my daughter this week so I'll try them next week when I get home..... Its awesome ( for me ) to see how you have grown in the last 3 years. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA......
Hey thanks Frank...cheers..let us know what ya think
Neil we love a good chicken sandwich around here buddy. Great job guys.
Absolutely....thanks Zeb
Thats an awesome chicken sandwich. I'm trying this the next time. Love the bacon jam too. Awesome, Dude.
Hope you enjoy
Your jam looks fantastic! Great sandwich👍😊
New pic...thanks Bobbi
Great video Neil and Amy, "the umm's have spoken" !!! The onion and bacon jam could be made with or without and I think it would still be good? Really enjoyed watching this episode and recipe. Your grill skills are fantastic and you two work together so well. Stay safe and keep up the fun around there too. OLD DAWG DREAMING Fred.
Yes sir...thanks Fred....
Bacon Jam is awesome 😂 great on a burger too.
I bet that samich is so good, love bacon jam.
Can't have enough griddle chicken recipes and yours always, always, crank up the flavor scale and help create some fine dinin.
Yessssir, that looks STRAIGHT 🔥🔥🔥🔥! I’ve been meaning to ask about the short dog scrapper/Spatch. Super dope cook y’all, Cheers 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
👊👊👊
This a perfect situation to use an outdoor griddle. If anyone wanted to make this super delicious sandwich and bacon jam indoors, it would heat up the house and make the a/c work harder. Would recommend a string of water misters on the perimeter of the porch to mitigate the scorching weather.
hahaahha true....
Looks G O O D... Thanks guys..!
Made this yesterday for dinner and it was amazing. Bacon onion whiskey jam was over the top. Wife said we're having salads all week to make up for it...
hahahaha sounds just like mine
Add a fan to your deck, makes the world of difference. I put an outdoor fan on mine, mounted it on the wall. Swivels so the air doesn’t mess with your fire.
We have one. Hahahah. Just so loud when filming
Thank you for this video. I need to make this dish soon! Looks great!
I just wanted to say thank you for all the knowledge you guys share. I have been recently diagnosed with high cholesterol and bought myself a blackstone griddle to try my hand on some more healthy meals for myself. The majority of the recipes you share may not be low cholesterol (still sinfully mouthwatering), but I still learn how to tame a griddle while enjoying the food through your reactions. The way you teach how to get the most out of the griddle has embarked me on a journey of cooking and experimentation I never thought possible. Thank you!
Hey I appreciate that...really...thank you
So much goodness in this video! That bacon onion whiskey jam sounds amazing.
Yes sir..thanks bud
Great videos as always thanks again for your time 😊😊😊
Glad you like them!
Looks delicious...
Looks divine! Also I LOVE my Shake That seasoning. My son puts it on his popcorn 😂 You have a house full of fans here in WI!
Truly appreciate that....thank you
That cutting board! What a work of art.
Now that is talent!
I like the idea of bacon jam but the whiskey, not so much. I suppose it would depend on the whiskey but there are so many people who find the flavor adverse. (Are they really related to me?)
Again, nicely done.
Looking forward to "Smoke That".
Thank you....Maybe bourbon...
The best thing about using a flat top in east Tennessee in this weather… You just have to set it out in the sun. No LP gas required. Out west, Blackstone is going to make a killing when they have to replace all the grills that melted this summer.
hhahahaha no kidding...
Thank you! Definitely going to make this.
Heck yeah...thanks
I love all the tips I get from you guys. Our family got together last year camping and I cooked every meal except the few we went out to eat. I got rave reviews but I have to give you and your videos a ton of credit. Thank you! I'm doing this recipe soon!
So speaking of bbq seasoning, GIVE US SMOKE THAT ALREADY!! Lol
hahahaha working for sure....
them look killer. nice job. my man :)
Winnah Winnah Chicken Sandwich ! ( Try some diced jalapeno in the bacon jam- it's awesome) Great video as always Neal -
Thanks bud
Mmmmm Maker’s Mark!!!
I found a new delicious whiskey. Try John Rich’s Redneck Riviera!!!! Amazing!!!!
Looks amazing can’t wait to give it a try . Thanks
6:16 is why I moved from the Southeast to the PNW. Come visit Spokane, WA FTK. I will show yall around.
Tick tick.....BOOM!!
Gonna try this for sure. Looks amazing. Just not sure about melting that cheese with a butane torch
Oh yeah Neal! That looks fantastic! Must try this out and that bacon jam🤤 👏👊 cheers brother 🍻
Hope you enjoy
I add Bragg’s to all of my homemade BBQ sauces 😮💨. Dude you never disappoint!! Glad it’s supper time!!
So good.....thanks bud...
😋 Good stuff!
looks delicious!
You had me at BBQ bacon jam! Amy, it's sweltering in NYC as well... Tis the season tho. I don't think you can ever go wrong with cheese, and recently I used my shop blowtorch to melt some 😂 Awesome cook as always guys!
I want to get one.....fly killer...ahhahahaha
This looks awesome! Im going to try to make this jam. My wife made chicken on the grill using Shake That, and I did a rotisserie of Tri Tip on the Weber using Smash That. my wife said both of the cooks tasted better than we have ever done. I can't wait to try Smoke That on my Weber with a good rib eye.🫕
Heck yeah...brother I appreciate that...working hard on it for sure
Great recipe. And great gifts too. Did you make those buns 🤔😂❤️
Lazy for now...i am working...summertime is my busiest time.. I definitely will but waiting for your to perfect it...
@@TheFlatTopKing mine are already perfect. I just need to work on shaping hot dog buns 😂🤣
@@stonerscravings hahahaahaha.
I saw your spicy on another griddle show keep up the good work but can't remember the name of the show the guy was from BBQ out boys
Interesting...I will check out...
good vid dood!!!
You are good at what you do! Keep sharing...I'm hoping to get a griddle soon. I'm depending on you! Ha!
I love how you and your wife go back and forth!!
Neal, nicely done mate! Now this goes on my to griddle list! I do so enjoy your explanation as your cooking. Your tips and tricks from your griddling experience are cooking gems. Stay tuned for more Neals Griddle Gems! Love the videos mate!
Appreciate that..
No hat? Reminded me of Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit. You know...he only took his hat off for ONE THING! 😊
ahhahah to dang hot...the hats make me sweet more
@@TheFlatTopKing ummmm...SWEET or SWEAT? lol
Looks so good, and the rabbit food (lettuce) was not needed. Love vinegar, but the bbq sauce takes me back to eastern NC bbq
Very close for sure
Neal and Amy, do you deliver to Maine?
I've been doing carpentry and general property maintenance for 48 years, so I think my concern is valid and qualified. I have replaced vinyl siding on houses more times than I can count because people had their grills and griddles to close to the siding and the siding melted.
Most insurance companies don't want a grill on a wooden deck at all and 20' away from the building. I'm not going to make a recommendation on distance from combustibles for obvious reasons, but I keep mine at least 10' away.
I don't want to have to miss your great videos because of melted siding or worse, Things can happen in seconds.
Nice cook. For the bacon jam, would you use a skillet on top of the griddle or would that be an issue for the griddle?
We use skillets on the griddle all the time...my next few videos will have them like that...
That looks fuckin awesome
A......mazing.
TY
I came into this video a little on the skeptical side, and then I watched it. Holy s*** now I need to make this! The bacon/onion/bourbon jam looks epic and the end results are amazing with the balances of savory, sweet, and sour. Well I know what I'm making soon! Just wish I could trap bacon fat on my Evo :( Might need to cook the bacon in a cast iron skillet on top of it and portion out the fat to the chicken. I'll figure it out.
Does the evo have a small elevation in the middle that allows the product to run off...
@@TheFlatTopKing Yes sir. It's probably 1/2 inch higher in the middle than the edges. It's 30" in diameter, so figure it loses 1/2 of elevation over 15" of length. The drippings land in the stainless drip tray which runs around it. The entire unit is probably 36" in diameter with the drip trays being about 6" in width. So cleanly trapping the bacon fat would be difficult, so I'll probably just do the bacon in cast iron to retain the fat. The Evo makes the best bacon you've ever tasted because the fat doesn't pool under it like it does normally. I can't describe it, so you'll need to visit me :) It's HOT, but at least we don't have your humidity!
she is the brains.
she is something...ahahhahaha
You know you've been married too long when she know the word you're looking for.
What are the "things" you have covering the holes on the side of the Traeger Griddle? I lost onions yesterday!
Cheap Dollar Tree dough cutters...
WHAT!? ALWAYS #bacondust 😎
Amy, don't judge his pour. Quarter cup, three quarter cup who is counting? 😉
ahhaahaha Right....
Do you have a cook book with all your recipes if. So how do get one
As of now we do not....our recipe are free....on our website .....theflattopking.com/
👍
What is that cutting board that you used?
I dont think I have a best yet..i like mine but have been neglecting them...i have been liking my black one from cutting board .com....richlite...
Baken Onion Whisky Jam!
+pickles .... Sheesh! You two never disappoint. Such a fun follow!
lol "It's BACON!!!" Just a fun marketing / brand name for future seasonings etc... RE: "Baken"
Pardon my ignorance on this one. But when you cook with that much whisky, is there any danger of feeding it to say a child, or recovered alcoholic???? Or does the whisky lose what whisky does when cooked?
Thanks for asking...The alcohol burns off leaving just the flavor...
You guys are really fun to watch! Neal, you're awesome, but I'd love to see more of Amy on camera. I would like to at least see her in a "closing" comment on every video, and maybe even more on some select videos. You did a cook-off video a couple of months back that was awesome!!!!! Anyway, keep up the great work!
hahahah aint no way....she works from home and I have to plead with her to get on camera...she is extremely extremely not camera friendly...
Sandwich looks great. Delete the flamethrower, it's too trendy. Drink the whiskey when eating the sandwich instead of putting it on the griddle. Keep up the good vids.!
Trendy...ahahh that thing is 17 years old...we got it for our wedding registry as a creme brulee torch....
I’ve been ignoring all things with bacon jam, not knowing what it meant 🤦🏾♂️
Get on the train bud....to be honest many many Different ways to make it....savory, sweet, hot etc...it really is an easy way to up the flavor game and balance things out...
Wow! I had to wipe off my chin! 😊
hahah ty
That looks good but, can we really call it BBQ if there is no fire? I was my understanding that to be BBQ it had to cook with wood fire, be it a stick burner, pellets, charcoal its all wood burning? Not being a smart ass trying sharp shoot you just curious from someone who is a much better cook than I.
