Roasted garlic is a game changer! I also agree about the grated fresh cheese!
Those sandwiches looked awesome! Also I agree with Bob fresh cheese is the way to go
Thank you, we can work together to keep him honest.....LOL
Those looked amazing!!!
Absolutely awesome meatball sandwich, thanks for sharing ❤️😂❤️❤️👍👍👍
Every element is on point! Awesome👍😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks amazing!!!!
Very nice!!
This is excellent 👌🏻
Ahhh, you’re killin me!!! 11:48 pm, sitting in my truck, waiting to load, 4 hours from home and I watch this!!! That looked ssooooo good!!! Put one in a FedEx envelope and put in on a FedEx plane to Toronto and they can put it on my truck!! Direct flight from MEM to YYZ!!Lol!!
HAHHAHAHA one day that might be an option...crazy to think about..
Damn that looks like a winner!!
Excellent work Chef. You Nailed it!
Glad you liked it! Much Appreciated...
Hey looked killer to me! When are you doing this again, I’ll be there!
That looks delicious! I, for one, am really excited about having more recipes on your website. Even if I'm making personalized changes, it's so much easier to have a printed starting point. Thanks again!
We are getting that done as soon as possible...Thanks for reaching out...
Fresh Homemade meatballs is the way to go every time. Make extra and freeze like you said. But then just for me the light bulb went off while watching this video. Wife has been talking about pizza ovens for 2 months. I totally ignored her. But I researched them every chance I got, watched a lot of videos and read hundreds of reviews. I settled on the right one I think. It will be one of her Christmas gifts. So I am thinking do the meatballs on my Blackstone, then put with sauce. Then take a sub roll with a little butter put in that pizza oven for about 30 seconds, take out add the meatballs and sauce topped with cheeses you like then put back in that pizza oven for about 60 seconds max as they get up to 900 plus degrees. I cannot wait to see the end result of that one. Never eat to live, but always live to eat. Great Job.
Thats is exactly on my back porch wish list for a new outdoor kitchen. I have had two and highly disappointed...Have J to reach out and tell me which one you got..
Looks good. Gonna try this on my birthday this Saturday. Love your vids try a lot of your ideas with my on little twist to them. Much love from Texas.
That twist is what its all about…. Happy birthday
You knock it out of the park again, thanks for sharing.
TY
Loved this bud meat balls are my fav
Yeah baby!
That looks absolutely amazing. I'm gonna try these with my kids this weekend. I love e your show. Keep it going.
TY Clarence
Good video guys,, those meatballs look good.. Frank from montana...
Love love love meatball subs! Thanks for sharing this definitely gonna try this mixture!
Its one of the best I have come up with...some things to consider. Sautéed onions and bell pepper if needed and reduced red wine...not alot but maybe 1 cup reduced to 1/4 cup for a huge depth of flavor
I talked about Publix in your other video, well I got a sub the other day when I was near one. It was amazing.
See maybe I am not crazy...AHAHHAHAA
This looks amazing! I can't wait to try this recipe!
It's so good!
I am so hungry now. I grow my own oregano and would grind it with the mortar and put it in the sauce. Also, I would have roasted two whole bulbs of garlic. One whole one for the balls the other for the sandwich roll. Great video!
Really like that cheese on the bread idea. That’s always my pet peeve with meatball subs is soggy bread. Another awesome video man, your videos have really helped me enjoy my cuisinart 360!
Totally agree with you, I have also a 360 griddle and enjoy a lot cooking Neal´s recipes!!
FTK your videos are incredible….team effort!
I’ve not commented yet & wanted to let you know I’ve done the

Charlie...first thanks for your service...secondly thanks for taking time to comment...really appreciate it...seems like your humming along on the griddle journey...reach out if we can help
I like a good meatballl and that looked like a good one. I guess I'll have to add this receipe to my list. Thanks for the video and GRIDDLE ON DUDE.
Ty
Looks delicious! Going to have to try it, close to my meatball recipe, but, now I'll have to try it with roasted garlic....Rao's is a good jarred sauce, but, give Victoria's a shot.....
OMG yep got a medic on stand by this looks great 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️😀
Looks amazing..picked up some merch 👍🏻
Hey man thats is awesome...cant think you enough..
You have great knive skills, I’m working myself on that and definitely improving. Love meat ball sandwiches but I’ve only had them from subway, thanks for sharing your recipe and definitely I mean definitely must try!!👌🏽
You got to try this Miguel...Its a great sandwich that is extremely close to the real thing
Have a blast watching you cook I’m learning a lot I can’t wait to start cooking. New subscriber so don’t believe u have cooked this yet but what we call “belly bombers” lol White Castle burgers would love to make them. Thank you for your Service by the way! Happy cooking
Thanks for subbing! I am posting a video tomorrow thats is very similar....great minds think a like..
Not a thing I would change about that sandwich! I used to make my meatballs flattened or even oblong patty shape. But round really is better, juicier. Roasted garlic is a Must! Thanks for another great one.
Thanks Brad…
I would add pepperoni and bacon love that on a meatball hoagieI call it a flat line dinner
my word, everything looks delish, being a bit on the Nordic side, our family makes Swedish meat balls but this, this is great. The garlic idea is exceptional.
I have to admit this was good...the meatballs were fantastic
Looks delicious 🤤
Thank you
Looking good! I just picked up the Blackstone air fryer combo and seasoning the top this weekend. Looks like I have our Sunday lunch already planned now lol.
I use to actually make meatball subs with spaghetti on it too hahah...I might be alone on that but its a good change up.
Hey I say all the time....make what you like..
Going to try garlic roll.My wife makes a bunch of meatballs and we smoke them and freeze what's leftover so going to have to try this
YES!!! Hand grate the cheese..............no green can of death!!! :) So I'll throw you a little curveball..........I wouldn't use fresh mozzarella for this particular build, the "dry", whole milk melts better and stringier (didn't see that one comin' did ya). You might get some push back on the roasted garlic, but only from folks who haven't experimented and learned just how different it is from raw or sauteed..............keep encouraging them to discover.
Thanks Bob. Just curious why is the green cap cheese so bad. Is it chemical or fresh is just hands over better
@@TheFlatTopKing Some of both those points. Like with many things "fresh" is better, and even within the fresh world there are grades of better. The canned pre-grated stuff has preservatives and agents to prevent clumping, including celulose (paper/wood fiber type stuff). That applies to the bagged shreds as well, though less vile than the canned powdered stuff.
@@rodderbob cellulose is in trees. Cuz it a plant. Cellulose is in plants. Do ya eat green leafy plants called lettuce? Cellulose is the suger in plants. It is actually a complex carbohydrate. Cows eat plants. Cows make milk. Milk makes cheese. 🧀
But I will totally agree with you. Cheese off the block is always better and block cheese is usually less expensive than pre-shredded cheese. Shredded cheese off the block will also melt a lot better. Try it on next grilled cheese sandwich or cheeseburger and you will see.😉😎🧀👍
That meatball sub sandwich looks heavenly 👑. Nicely done.
TY
I am Italian & just made 184 meatballs for my granddaughters wedding shower. This recipe looks good but mine is very different. I made these meatballs with ground Turkey & they were fantastic!
What do you do different or what would u change
Roasted garlic is a key ingredient! Especially with the butter on the roll. That meatball sub was….money! I really think you guys should do a live show. I think that would be awesome! Cheers brother!
Sounds great! We are Definitely looking towards the first one in June...
Great minds…..
Not my mom in laws recipe, but it looks delicious. If hubby did not have such fond memories of his moms cooking, i would seriously make these
Sneak it in there...hahhhahaha I understand completely..
Now THATS an A-1 Meatball Subby Brotha 🤌🏻!! Im a SAUCEY guy myself as well. 💜 the pro move with the roasted garlic, i know that came out
🔥Fuego🔥. Cheers Y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
Thanks Mike....thats one mammer jammer,,,,
@@TheFlatTopKing yessir
turn those meatballs into sliders.. soo good!
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 gimme some!
The ricotta cheese is a game changer. Got that tip from Sam the Cooking Guy.
I like Sam...he can really put on a great 15 mins ish...
All I can say is "it looks fantastic"
TY Tom

When you scraped the extra grease with the extra seasoning and flavor and put it on the meatballs. I said see he knows what he’s doing.
hahahahahaha its all about flavor....
Ok, I'm probably the only griddle owner that has never made a smashed burger....😳 but had a thought as I was watching this video. 🤔
How about a smashed meatball sliders? On a King's Hawaiian roll. Cut the rolls in half, but keep them altogether. Butter & garlic like ya did, but throw the cheese in a pile on the griddle top? Buns on top of what I refer to a a cheese skirt.
got my attention...I like where its going...
Homemade is always best however in a pinch I have had some great tasting frozen meatballs before! Plus easy is easy meaning frozen meatballs are just simply easier than homemade. This recipe looks fantastic. Out of all of the Italian dishes that my family likes for me to cook, I still have not found the perfect meatball recipe to call my own. I will definitely be using some of the ideas in this one as I search for my own meatball recipe. Great job as usual Neil!! 😋👊🏻🔥👏
Hey bud I appreciate that...I agree I am always twisting the ingredients to make something...Maybe next time to reduce red wine and add in...
Question do you leave the bread out to get hard for the meatball? Or soft bread works ok?
Soft actually works better because you run less of a risk to tear all the way in to 2. Keeping the bread soft helps hinge the bread and allows the sauce to stay in the loaf. That is why I made the crust with the cheese to keep the soft part but to harden up the inside to make not as soggy...
OMG!!!!!!
That was a good one
What kind of pans can you use on the griddle
Depends on griddle...rolled steel any pan will work...ceramic any pan will work but I would not recommend moving them...straight up and down only to prevent damage...
That looks good and it got me thinking (it hurts when I think) what would the meatball be like if you griddled the onions just a bit? I think I am going to make that and split the batch in half and try the onion both ways.
Let me know...I was also thinking about reducing some red wine...
@@TheFlatTopKing. I only had yellow or red onion so I used the yellow. The meatballs with the raw onion were definitely moister and they had a sweeter more oniony flavor but not like a raw onion. The grilled onion almost lost its flavor in the meatball and I only slightly browned the onions. Having done both I would go with the raw but if someone wanted to tone down the onion flavor I would suggest grill them a bit but find something to make up for the moisture loss. Maybe your red wine reduction would do the trick. Thanks
Ok , I can't wait until the house next door is ready. Can you overnight one of those to me? Like tomorrow?
Hahaahaha. It was a good one.
Hi, i love all of your videos. And you got a amazing wife.
My big questions is. Did you get already any screeches in your pit boss griddle? I already bought the pit boss griddle set. But this is really terrible.
So can I go back to the regular iron one.
Best regards from Bavaria
Nope...still going great...thanks for the kind words
Trust me when I tell you, I could come and make you the most incredible meatballs with eight ingredients or less and I promise you’ll be dancing while you’re eating them lol
We make them & freeze them until we are ready to cook them.
I'm getting fat every time I watch one of your videos!
Me too …
Now make your own bread, mozzarella and marinara sauce.
Did y’all give up on the silicone spatulas … only?
Honestly kinda...i still use my wood scraper all the time...but as for the silicone yeah i mostly use metal...but only my good spatula that I talk about because of numerous reasons...
Squeezing the garlic reminds me of Dr Pimple popper!!
UUUGGGHHHH insanely hard NOT to watch knowing its coming
Great vid! You gotta show video of Amy eating, not stills
HAHAHAHAHAHA your are not going to cost me alimony....Not a chance....hahaha
HEY! Where's mine?
HAHHAHAHA
That's what my wife said too
HAHHAHA
The WalTwins sent me!!!!
Hey thats awesome...any friend of them is a friend of mine...
Scorched earth over the store bought meatballs, so you do homemade...check. roasting your own garlic...beautiful! Store bought sauce???? Wth?😉
Simi homemade 😂😂😂😂
I am gonna have to do this, but I may modify it.
I tend to cook a bunch at one time then vacuum pack and freeze.
I’m thinking a patty of sorts, kind of a meatball smash burger hybrid.
That might make my Sicilian ancestors turn over in their graves but they will get over it.
HAHHAHA i have said from the beginning Make what you like to eat...after all you are the one eating it..
Did Amy hate that pic? A recipe? Someone call the cops, that's not Neal..... imagine cooking if you didn't have hands... what's you best tool then?
HAHAHAHAHAH dont cook bacon naked...
I make bigger meatballs and cut them in half when making sandwhichs out of them. i cant stand there rolling the balls for 1hr, dont have it in me.
well thats a good tip....ty
@@TheFlatTopKing LOl, everyone always comments that the meatballs ar large, no one ever volunteers to roll the little ones for an hr though.
@@finstor3386 hahahahahha aint that the truth.
We make them & freeze them until we are ready to cook them.
