This video was shot, in one take, on December 14th at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair in San Francisco. I had wanted to do a project with my friend, the director Jenessa Joffe, who I went to college with at Wesleyan. Then the Vermillion Lies girls showed up and it got even better.
It's set to "What's the Use of Won'drin'?" (featuring Annie Clark of St. Vincent) as it appears on "Who Killed Amanda Palmer".

Merry everything
Long live the punk cabaret!

What happened to the other version of this video? With the 50s aesthetic?
Warner Bros claimed it presumably, did it with the Oasis vid as well

I love this recording! Annie Clark is such a great performer too! If you ever get to see St. Vincent live go for it!
Their drummer is one of the few that don’t make gruesomely long solo 👍🏽
Thank you, Amanda. You just made my crappy holiday season that much brighter. We love you.
i love this technique, the slowed down images with perfect vocal synch. i dpose you record it at double the speed so the mouths synch?
oh yeah
i have this cd and i didnt think she sang this song
but i think she starts later in the song, but shes only like backup
@LollirotLolita Its actually Annie Clark Sining
Is there a crying sound effect in the background starting at around the 2:00 mark?
I also wanted to ask, is this a cover of an older song or a one that she made?
Julie Metas yes, there is. Watch the other clip that there is on youtube for this song and you will get the context :)
This video never fails to make me feel better again. Thank you so much.
I don't believe there are videos for "Blake Says" or "Have to Drive", are there?
Nice video at the Dickens fair, but what happened to the original video? That one was awesome!
@Briana Jenkins at least we're not alone. I hope that she brings it back, it made more sense then this one I'm afraid:( this one was pretty but didn't pack the same punch. The story is lost to distracting details

Thats my fav song on the album! Great video! Thanx!
A friend of mine sent me a spastic txt message saying "AMANDA WAS AT DICKENS HERE LOOK" and sent me this link. Of course it's from three years ago. lol. I'm sort of shocked I didn't see people I know who work Dickens anywhere. will have to look closer. cool video made me feel warm and fuzzy and miss my wayward friends
Every video Amanda makes (dolls or solo) is ALWAYS fucking amazing!
so now thats a video for every song on the 'who killed amanda plmer', right?
lol. So pretty. I love it.
Happy holidays and New Year's and all that jazz to you too.

Amazing song. Amazing voice. Amazing performance. If only it wasn't flickering. Warning: if you're prone to seizures as I am, don't watch this video!!! Just listen to it :)

My daughter likes this version better than the studio video. ... I kind of think she's right! (Amazing that it was done in one take.)
I agree!

I spend so much time picking out people I know in the background, that I don't really notice the singers. :D
i love it!
aww! that was so awesome! =D
I love it :)
ADORABLE!
Vermilion Lies doesnt sing on this. The high voice is Annie Clark, Vermilion Lies is just liping it for the video.
I fucking cried. How pathetic, this is where i am in life atm... i can't believe a song actually exists for it... ='(
Okay, now just fucking do something for Blake Says and Have To Drive, you might as well XD
I really hate that youtube made you get rid of the awesome video of you killing the abusive husband 😤
Oh! I see. What a grin at the end; subversive, I like it :)
katie kay and erin :D yaaaay
She looks so pretty in that dress :)
I would love to spend a day in her closet. Her clothes are the best
ok,once more then....I LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!
i dont think you said fucking enough
Amanda only sings songs with an ironic twist, and this is double ironic. The sentiment is 180 degs out of phase with her thinking and most modern women's thinking so they very gently send it up. But wow, how they send it up, while their voices do great homage to the music. As a man born in the forties, there is part of me that would enjoy it if women still felt that way to men. But thank god they don't!!
Amanda Fucking Palmer... your absolutely fucking gorgeous.
amanda, you rock my socks :]
Ah! The lyrics of this... Misogyny at its finest.
Аманда круче всех, идите в жопу.

Как раз наоборот. Мир дураками полнится...
