Because the screws of the differential housing go through into the inside, it is adviseable to apply sealant to the threads of the screws. Otherwise it might leak through the threads. The factory assembly shows this technique too I think, the threads were full of sealant. (And thank you for this great series!)

The bearing races installed in such a manner ??? It would have been so much better to have drawn them in with a large threaded bolt and washers if no bearing press was available.
