Dried Beans are wonderfully budget friendly and once cooked freeze very well and reheat well too. Bean soup with cornbread is one of my favorite meals. I love mixing navy, pinto and great northern in a soup mix along with some carrot and onions. Bean burgers are another great way to use beans with some cooked rice and herbs a person loves and mix together into burgers. I love macaroni and tomatoes together. I love using can tomatoes when they are on sale. Eat chilled or warm this dish.

Those meals may only be $5 but they have some really awful nutritional values... 1500 mg o sodium, 1000 calories without sauces, and 60 grams of sugar (about 8 teaspoons). Not for the old, poor and budget minded I don't think....
