The Calamity Mod is a large content mod for Terraria which adds many hours of endgame content and dozens of enemies and bosses dispersed throughout the vanilla game's progression. The Calamity Mod also features several harder difficulty modes, 5 new biomes and new structures, a new class, a new leveling mechanic, more than 30 new songs, over 50 recipes for previously uncraftable vanilla items and other assorted changes to vanilla gameplay.

2:11 Fun fact, the Soma Prime was at one point renamed to "THIS WEAPON IS A REFERENCE TO WARFRAME OH MAH GAWD", making it the longest name for a period of time before it was changed to "Gun" and then back to "Soma Prime" in later updates.

Some tips from a Calamity lore nerd: Xeroc isn't close to being omnipotent, nor did he create the universe, nor is he dead. Currently, he is searching for Noxus, which was created by Cthulhu and the Moon Lord to reset the genocide that Xeroc committed on the Dark Gods. (Note that most of this is non-canon by now, but it's the most recent lore on Xeroc that we have). Additionally, the Xeroc sprite is fanmade, and fighting him will not require your soul. It only requires that you beat the Boss Rush.

@@GitGudWO Yeah the Total Calamity Wiki is completely non-canon, which is where I'm guessing you got the info. He might also be an endgame challenge at some point.

All the lore in the video is _heavily_ outdated, as even I have never heard of it. Xeroc is a fusion of all the Light Gods, who massacred the Dark Gods. The survivors of this massacre went to the planet of Terraria, where they made a being that could destroy Xeroc and the universe if it got to full power out of the corpses of their brethren, which was Noxus. When Xeroc found out, he killed them all, most notably hitting Cthulhu so hard he turned into the Crimson, and chopping the Moon Lord's legs off before trapping him on the moon. He now searches for Noxus.

Calamity's lore is both interesting and hilarious because it just screams the energy of "hey so I have a cool mod I made cause it was cool" "yo dude I thought up some lore for your mod" "awesome dude now my mod has cool lore"
Just thought I'd clear up some misinformation in the video:
- The Xeroc lore and image in the video are FANMADE. Xeroc's official design is currently not public, and he wasn't killed by anyone (he did the killing)
- The 30 million registered wiki editors thing is for the wiki site as a whole, and not just Calamity (the stat for Calamity isn't documented)
- Technically the opposite happened for Vehemence/Vehemenc. Old ones are Vehemence, while new ones are Vehemenc (this only applies in the code).
- Nitpick but Skullmasher and a few other Borderlands references got removed, so the count there is outdated (not that it matters much, it still has the most refs)

I'd like to add that the 15 million downloads just means that the mod has been downloaded 15 million times, not downloaded by 15 million individuals. I'm pretty sure it counts updates as well.

Hmm, iirc Xeroc absolutely destroyed Chtulhu (that's where crimson biome is from) and cut Moon Lord in half, and Noxus is creation created by Cthulhu and Moon Lord as a last attempt to annoy Xeroc. I think Xeroc massacred the entire nation of dark gods for Xeroc is a union of all Light gods which completely overpowered them. But all of that info is gonna turn useless because the lore is being rewritten lmao
Ah yes, Yharim also encountered Xeroc once and was severely overpowered
yes, also the main lore writer said that most of the new canon lore is going to come out in 1.6 (the biome overhaul update)
Edit: just got some info that the devs haven't actually decided what number the 1.4 port is being called, so if Calamity updates to 1.4 with the version being called 1.6, do not wonder why no reworks are included.

Xeroc isn't dead
Xeroc is the fusion of all the light gods into a being so stupidly insanely bs powerful that even though he isn't omnipotent he might as well be
He absolutely butchered the dark gods, with the only survivor being cthulhu depending on whether or not you count the crimson existing as him surviving and the heavily crippled moon lord
Noxus is essentially an egg created from the corpses of the dark gods that will eventually turn into a universe-destroying creature, Xeroc is trying to find and destroy it

btw GitgudWO, about the mod reference having 2 swords in calamity which was exxo avalon, Blah is actually making it into Tmodloader, its still on beta if your in Blah's server but its playable, also there will be unique ai that will come in the new version of it, also blah will only release it in 1.4 build since its around the corner for the new tmodloader update

dark souls, subnautica and destiny references are also in the game: gaels greatsword from dark souls, the eidolon wyrm is inspiried by the leviathan from subnautica and "the pack" which is the gjallarhorn from destiny
Don’t forget the dark souls reference in the great sword of judgement (pontiff sulyvahn) and essence of eleum (eleum loyce)
I had no idea about the gem armor at the end so this is definitely useful

i think that the future bosses idea would be better if it was shown as a way for a boss to get reworked and see the response people would get from it
it would give the community a general idea of what the boss would look like reorked
there is only one change I do not like in the new update of calamity and that is the fact that lore items no longer give buffs it seemed like an excellent reward for beating a hard boss and I feel like they could have made them only activates in expert and not be broken I just want my cryogen dash back man

Honestly, considering that they take plenty lines from Metal Gear Rising and make them into either messages or flavor text.
The Devourer of Universes used to have a line that read: "DOES IT HURT?" which played when (I think) the player got hit by his head.
And it is VERY possible that it's a Monsoon reference.

BTW, most of the Draedons Arsenal weapons are a reference to the fallout series (Plasma Grenade, Gatling Laser, etc.)
Your examples sound like extremely generic weapons. A gatling gun that fires lasers isn't really that much of a reference unless if they look like the actual Fallout gun.

My theory is that the player charakter is the reincarnation of the elden god of light. Which would explain why hes so powerfull and capable of taking down such powerfull opponents. This would also explain why the players soul is requiered to ressurect him
The UHF Murasama was actually fully animated, and it's supposed to be used for killing Yharim. Thing is, the developers didn't want to code it in.

Lore is outdated, new lore time:
There were once dragons. Then moonlord came and kicked their teeth in. Xeroc saw the weakened elder dragon, and killed it and absorbed it's auric soul. lots of other people saw him do that, and started copying him. Yharim was meant to kill a dragon, but said "screw this", and instead got thrown into lava. the rest is history.

They are. The lore that Git provided is outdated. Xeroc and Noxus will be the "true final bosses" that are completely optional to fight. You will not be able to "beat" either of them. Rather, you'll stall against Noxus until Xeroc kills it for you, and you'll get Xeroc to about 99.9% hp over the course of an hour at which point he tells you you're neat and leaves.

Yharim is not only the strongest being,He is alongside with supreme calamitas cuz it' stated that if Calamitas and Yharim fight the result will Unknown and uncertain,It can be assumed that they are is tie,Calamitas can't beat yharim but yharim also can't beat calamitas.
Also supreme calamitas have More feats statement and hax,and supreme Calamitas have many summon that literally are her sibling who are also Strong AF.
So Yharim is not the only one strongest being.

Xeroc is the unnamed dark eldritch god from deep space that whoever speaks his name fuckin dies of madness(its said in the once named xeroc armor which is now called empyrean i think)
He is no god of light nor is he the creator of the universe, he is not omnipotent, he is just an eldritch god from who knows where and origins unknown.

I have to agree that DM Dokuro's musics are legendary and good, but I have to disagree with your opinion, Calamity mod is one of the earlier and bigger mods to exist out there since the early era of Terraria modding, it also has decent content, might not be as good as some others, but them's the facts which are the bigger factors why Calamity became more popular than other mods
