    🤓 A little about my eyesight: 🤓
I have had glasses for astigmatism since I was 7 years old, but I only needed them for specific circumstances, like reading blackboards or night driving (not when I was 7, obviously).
At the age of 22 I landed an office job, and with my lovely new money I bought a smart phone. 6 months later, I had myopia (also known as short sightedness or near sightedness) and had to wear glasses full-time.
My prescription has been going up since then, and I have been freaking out as I sit back and watch my eyesight deteriorate, feeling helpless and scared.
I was up to -3 in my left eye, and -2.5 in my right eye when I discovered Jake Steiner and the EndMyopia method.
I am still only a few months in, but already I am seeing at almost -2.00 in my left eye -1.75 in my right eye. Small changes, but any improvement is amazing when my eyes have only been deteriorating for the last 10 years.
I am loving knowing more about eyesight and how eyes function. It's fascinating, and learning so much feels empowering. I love that I no longer feel helpless about my vision. I have also quit my smartphone so I could get over my screen addiction. I even bought a Nokia to get me out of temptation's way! Since doing this, I have been making progress with my vision, but also have regained so much of my life and time and perspective, so this vision journey is definitely having positive knock-on effects in my life as a whole.

I agree, Gemily. I've had floaters for years, and when I first got them, I thought I'd never be able to deal with them. However, after time, I did start to adjust and not notice them so much. Since doing Endmyopia, I do notice these same floaters more because I'm looking at the sky and doing other things that I don't typically do, but I don't believe they are worse. I am doing the pineapple thing to try to reduce them, though! Thank you!

I just started EndMyopia and I'm hoping that it actually reduces/prevents floaters. I'm currently -6.00 with at least 15-20 tiny floaters. After doing a ton of research, I found that floaters can be caused by an elongated eyeballs which tends to pull on the retina and affect the vitreous jelly. So I'm actually hoping that it will bring the eyeball back to a sphere and prevent a serious condition related to elongated eyeballs.

    Hi Gem,
This is an excellent question, for anyone attempting prevention, and or recovery.
IF I DO SOMETHING, WILL IT CAUSE XX PROBLEMS.
In other words, we FEAR taking any action, at all.
We both believe, that Jake easy method, should cause no eye problems.
As you know, I used a plus lens to go from 20/50, to 20/20, but I knew it was totally safe.
Even I knew, there could be a risk.
    But I check everything.
As always, I wish you totall success.
I do hope you can now consistently read the 20/60 line, and eventually pass the DMV check for your own satisfaction.

But yeah, I know what it is, and that this is pretty much the extent of it so... 🤷‍♀️ But a lot of people seem pretty bothered by them. I was aware of my floaters before EM, but I definitely think many people aren't and you are on point that most notice them for the first time as they become aware of their vision. I don't know about your second theory with the ciliary spasm release but I do agree with the likelihood that myopia is the primary cause of floaters.

    Hi Gemily,
An excellent question - that we all must answer.
If you do ANYTHING, that is not medical, you get "accused", by the person of causing his floaters.
I get the same issue, when I advocate that a "plus", be worn, to go from reasonable 20/50, to 20/20.
For my immediate relatives, I assured them - that an excessive minus lens would probably destroy their naked eye vision - permanently.
    That was their trade off.
    But - they trusted me.
Even so, I insisted they have a complete medical exam, before they began wearing the scientific plus.
(None of them entered into myopia - smart kids!)
Still, that, "un-suspected", side issue, is indeed a serious psychological problem.
So - if you are doing E.M., you must be prepared for that complaint.
As a Layman, no one can sue you on your advice.
However, any one who is medical, can and will be sued.
That is why Medical Research, is in the, "Dark Age".

Great video! Also a really interesting topic to explore. I experienced the same, when I read about EM and floaters I noticed that I actually have 2 floaters in my weaker eye :) although since i have been doing EM it seems that they got smaller and now they dissapeared. But i also did lot of massaging around the eyes to improve circulation. I agree that awareness is a big factor here. Your theory about the release of ciliary spasm freeing the debris is also really interesting.
I also think that some people might be doing AF wrong (like what i did when i started :D) i tried to force it, blink a lot unnaturally. Maybe that can contribute to having more floaters? Not sure. But forcing AF caused me lot of dry eyes so I stopped doing that. AF should come naturally with relaxation , without forcing anything.

I think it's just the noticing that contributes to it. And how do you un-notice it once you know it's there? I tried improving my vision by seeing without glasses etc on and off over the years and I've noticed my floaters far more when I'm trying to improve my vision ironically. So yes, not thinking too much about your vision does seem help un-notice them a little but they're still there and didn't really go away. Floaters became a problem for me after laser eye surgery (which didn't fix my near sightedness but did reduce it temporarily). I didn't know about Endmyopia or anything until just last week but I'm definitely going to give it a try. I HATE floaters. Particularly the ones in my right eye. For whatever reason my right eye floaters seems to cause horrible eyestrain but not the left eye floaters. Obviously, I'm hoping to improve my vision and not make my floater situation worse. But there are a couple things you can do regarding floaters. I'm finding a lot of relief just switching my phone/iPad to dark mode. I also switched my Windows computer to High Contrast mode (I like a dark grey background rather the pure black default and it's configurable). You might wear sunglasses in the sun. It depends how bad your floater situation is. My right eye floaters can really cause me a lot of aggravation and if active focus does nothing but aggravate it then I will eventually stop but not without trying first.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад

Go gently then. Straining for close up vision or distance vision may not be the most helpful. I find wearing lower correction makes mine more obvious - full clarity makes them stand out a lot less. So, vision improvement may make them more noticeable for that reason too....

Not wearing glasses itself, but the lengthening of the eyeball from progressive myopia is a likely contributor. And wearing your full-correction glasses for close up when you are myopic is likely to cause your eyeball to elongate. Glasses in and of themselves won't cause floaters if you are wearing the appropriate correction, which unfortunately most optometrists don't offer, especially for close up work where we need weaker glasses if we are myopic.

I usually spend $40 per pair of glasses - not the cheapest option, but I'm happy to spend that to get the anti-reflective coating, and the frames I want. For me, I don't have to pay shipping from clearly because I live in a country they work from. If you can find one with free shipping for you, that would be great at cutting costs for you.
To buy from Clearly, you'd need to use their US site, which is Coastal.com .
Their cheapest glasses are $9 (US), and international shipping is about $25 (US). If you wanted anti-reflective coating (which is worth it to me), that is another $15 US. So you could get a pair of glasses from them by spending $34 US dollars.
You could also try Zenni Optical. Their cheapest frames are $7 (US), with shipping to Germany for $10 (US) - but it could take a month to arrive. $20 for faster shipping. And an extra $5 for anti-reflective coating. So you could get glasses through them for $17 US if you make all the cheapest choices.

If they really make you depressed there are medical things that can be done, although I try to avoid elective medical procedures since all medical procedures carry risk. But your life is definitely not over.

Hey does active focus cause flotters

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад

No, active focus invloves gentle blinks, and paying attention to what you see with your mind. It is not a dangerous or strenuous activity. If anything causes floaters in this method, it is strain - which is not part of the method, but people getting overly zealous and pushing their eyes too hard. Go gently.
