By the way - this comes from an old and completely free VST synth called "Synth1" that I really love. The bassline here is straight Synth1 with only a little compression. No additional effects.
Damn! A family guy with no tatoos playing a $50 midi controler like a God damn beast to show the product capacity. Bravo man, i'm just ordering one right now...
This is the most epic review I have ever watched! You're by far my favourite RUclipsr, ur grooves are so groovy, a level 5 earthquake is a joke in comparison, love it!
Usually north americans reviewers are reaaally annoying with branding and stuff "If its not akai or some big name, its not worth it". You gave a different perspective, a really good review, stating clear ups and downs in your opinion. I really liked your review. Thank you very much
I think you could find a way to ride a bicycle that had no wheels! Appreciate the honesty and candor by which you review this item. You definitely brought it to its limits - showing all that it "can" do, and where it was lacking. Given the cost though, I agree, in a pinch it could be quite a handy tool for the right person. I think it will be really helpful to the company that supplied it, and to the buyer, given how you explained and demonstrated all the fine tuning issues and solutions. Great video!!
fabrica menu junior exactly, opening up RUclips app on my phone finding that Blueish Groovewindow Thumbnail with Jonathon with Yellow hat really makes my morning.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!! That is the FUNKIEST, GROOVIN'est, COOLEST thing I have EVER HEARD, coming out of a small portable keyboard!! WOW. This was a lesson in WHAT you can DO if the MUSIC is WITHIN YOU!! Oh yeah, nice demo of the keyboard, too! Thank you so much for this demo! :-)
awesome man! thanks for the great video . I I bought one of these last year its just been sitting round in my travel bag . I had no idea I could configure it hahah , gonna do that now and put it to good use!
Thanks for the review. Also that tube was filthy I loved it 😂. I bought one for my step son as his first midi controller so I'm glad my blind buying decision isn't an awful one. Just will need a bit of help setting it up from the sounds of things 😁
Hell yea. Looking at one of these now.. Can't play like you but great to know it can be played like that! 3 years later: would you now choose a different controller? Edit: killer jam, btw!
The bass had a very interesting sound! It was quite fuzzy and loud, it was interesting and unconventional. The drum machine beats worked well with the other instruments.
I got one of the Worlde Panda Minis. Glad they seemed to have made improvements. I had to pound on it to get a note, which made velocity sensitivity useless. Unlike the Tuna, though, the software didn't let me adjust it. Also the keys were very stiff, and the more keys you pressed, chords for example, the more resistance there was.
I'm not a musician or composer. I was looking at this as a way to speed up my foley sessions using a midi controller to "play" my footstep sounds and my various gunshots and so on so forth using like a drum plugin like Sitala. This controller is now like 50$ Canadian ... I think I'll pick it up, thanks for the review.
Jonathon! I'm mostly new to your channel but I was hooked when I listened to your bombstep and this monday series. I'm a novice, mostly self-taught piano player who also has experience with woodwinds and other percussion. I would love to make some music of my own as a hobby but I have no idea where to start in terms of equipment and music programs on my computer. Could you (or some of the people in the comments) recommend some decent basic recording/looping equipment? Maybe do a video on the basics of the equipment you use? I love this channel!
OMG!!! i absolutely love you!! Also you look alike one of my best friends so bad! hahahah peace my friend and thanks for make an amazing RUclips channel!
Great tune! Do you have a daily driver mini keyboard? I'd be curious to see how this stacks up against say an Arturia MiniLab even though this is less expensive...
Thank you for this review. I have a question for ya. I see these are fine for windows or mac, and I assume it will work with linux. I use linux and am new to trying to make music, but if I cannot load the software that comes with this, would I be able to program it using my daw or some other kind of editing software or script? Maybe? On the one hand these are all plug and play, but then they come with software so I am a bit confused.
Hey there. Nice video and groove. By the way, I got this same controller but I cant get it to work correctly. CAn you share your settings please? I would love if you do that. Btw, I dropped a like on the video
I would really like to know what software you use to make this live music. How do you do this looping and stuff. Can you list it? Maybe some tutorial in the future?
Hi! I know it's been 3 years, but any chance you have the profile for the configuration software? I've been struggling to run it on Live. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi, Do you still have it? If yes, could you please make a test with a midi monitor software?, here the faders (sliders) only goes until 126 (not 127). Pads and knobs are OK, all in the range 0-127. Thanks!
How does the pads feel? I already have keystep 37 which doesn't have pads. I don't want to spend much money to buy another controller like akai mpk mini. Thanks
Thanx for the review but pls I have a question for u and kindly reply. Is there any transpose button on it and if there is one how do use the button to transpose.Thanx pls reply me
Hi! Would it be possible for you to post your configurations, a screenshot perhaps for the knobs and sliders? And also the pads? I bought the midi controller after watching your video :))) And my problem right now is that as I'm trying to configure it, the knobs and sliders get limited to just one step up or down, like 64 to 65 range. But the default ones inside the controller has full range. The problem is I can't configure the piano keys at all, as you've noted they do need adjustment to be able to be pressed normally.
I just realized that the preloaded values on the controller are actually smooth :O There's really something wrong with the midi editor. No piano key volume problem at all. Or at least the values there in the editor are bad since I can't get the right config after many combinations.
"Can you use it to make some music" ........ Damn, even Stevie wonder would be impressed.
Awesome review and amazing skills.
Holy... That bassline 😍
Glad you like it :) -- It turned out a little meaner than I was originally anticipating, but that's ok. :)
By the way - this comes from an old and completely free VST synth called "Synth1" that I really love. The bassline here is straight Synth1 with only a little compression. No additional effects.
Absolutely filthy
You've just demonstrated that it's the person behind the gear, and not the instruments themselves.
Yes...as a newb......sooo humbled

That groove is dirty as hell! I love it.
Man you're talented, you don't need expensive gear to sound good
I can keep watching it for a whole day
Fantastic way to do a review. Love the tune. In fact, would love to see a full tut on making the tune (with the same kit)
Yes tutorial pls
You are the best ever reviewer (as well)! Kudos and looking forward to more!

This review was awesome! After the first 5 seconds I was already sure I will learn a lot from videos. thank you!
Love the audio quality and fantastic post editing you put into your work. Oh, the song was really great, thanks for reviewing the Tuna mini!
Wow, that groove was insane.

this guy can make anything sound good!
Looks very similar to arturias 25 key midi controller
The bass had a very interesting sound! It was quite fuzzy and loud, it was interesting and unconventional. The drum machine beats worked well with the other instruments.
After this video I just made the purchase. Great review!
Wow! It came earlier than usual! It is even not Monday in Chilliwack, Canada! 😅 always thanks for your great videos

I've just stumbled on your video. Amazing playing skill! Good job.
Can you help guide us calibrate or adjust its settings? we'd really appreciate it.

Cat fur on the gear makes for some quite hairy basslines, it seems :D great review, thorough without being nitpicky.
Damn that shit jam! Sounds like something from a beat em up like streets of rage or tmnt👍
Would love a tutorial on a riff like the wah clav groove you played on this one! Have been wanting to add some Stevie wonder-ness to my tunes!

@@fianoanthonio High sensibility, must be adjusted on the PC editor, after that is possible to work with no problems.

My 2 cats like to flop down on my Korg Micro Key and twiddle their ears when noise comes out of the headphones on the arm rest of the sofa.
Does it work with studio one?
