    Taking delivery on my black 2017 Raider in two weeks. Can't wait roll out on it!
    Thank you for the words of wisdom!
    Update: Had my first season on my Raider and about to start my second. This bike is INSANE. It is a beast and I love it. Most of the time I just cruise on it but when I had to romp on it to pass two semi's, it pulled hard. At the back of the 2nd trailer, at 60 mph, I am up to 100 mph before I hit the landing gear. Specs say it tops out at 125 mph and usually when you approach that you will feel it back off. But it pulls just as hard at 100 mph.
    I set mine up with a fairing and saddlebags which are all quick release. So I can go touring as well. The only negative I have is the seat get's you a little saddle soar on long trips so I am replacing it. My wife and I were stopped at a light and a guy and his girl rolled up next to us on a Sport Glide. She gave us the "nod" and we gave it back in return, but the guy was pissed. Lol...when the light turned green he throttled it so hard he almost broke her back. I guess he was a Harley Snob. But I am finding those guys are going the way of the dinosaur. We went to HD because my wife wanted to look at the Sportster and we had just looked at the Bolt R Spec for herself. And guys in the HD parking lot were really cool and we are talking and nobody was acting out of pocket. Raider is a classic and glad I nabbed one.

      @@Stripping_Bolts OH yeah I still have it. There is only one bike that I would even consider replacing it with and that is the Star Venture Transcontinental. That is only because my wife and have been taking longer trips. But I couldn't be more stoked over a bike with the Raider.

    Hey all. I just want to add I tested a Breakout and own a Raider. Physically the Raider is bigger than the Breakout. The Breakout feels small when you ride it. That feeling of "sitting in" the Raider is way more apparent than on the Breakout where you feel a little more on top of the bike. 6' and over will feel more fitted on the Raider vs the Breakout. To put it in perspective, the Raider is the same length as a Goldwing (the king of comfort) and the Breakout is 8" shorter.

    I rode a raider after riding my 2011 wide glide with tins of mods. This raider would eat my HD. It made my dyna feel like a pile of shit. I sold the dyna i was so disguted in it. The raider aint no 202hp v max but itll rip the arms off ya. All aluminium frame makes it handle and feel stiff so much better then a steel frame. Awesome awesome bike.

Once you ride one, you're hooked. My buddies that have ridden mine pull up to my house after they ride it and have a grin from ear to ear. My buddies ride Harleys, Victorys and Indians and they all say the same thing. "This thing is a rocket" or, " This thing is freaking fast." The first time I punched it, it put me on the passenger pillion. And I'm 6'5, 235 lbs.

    The Raider is a nice looking bike. One thing that I don't understand about HD styling is their refusal to 'lift' their tanks up from their parallel to the ground orientation. People end up buying 'lift' kits to raise the fronts of the tanks on their HDs up a few degrees.. Japanese manufacturers have been providing this lifted tank style since the 80s, surely they got the idea from chopper magazines and photos.. Yamaha continues this in the Raider.. Why have HD not had the nerve to do this yet ? For the record, I love my Softail.. when I want the lifted tank experience then I ride the Honda Fury... A bike that HD would never dare to make..

      Baird's Bikes Videos The 1900cc yamaha breakout makes 100hp at the crankshaft... So its about 89 rear wheel hp. Would get destroyed by a V Rod. The yamaha raider is comorable to any bone stock Harley 107 in terms of power. But, the raider has fake oushrod tubes. HD uses real old school pushrods with roller lifters. Hey Sean. Could you do me a personal favor? I appreciate the words of wisdom. I have a bit of a problem with the sticky note blowing away on every test ride, which is pretty much littering. I'd like to think that someone walking down the road will pick it up, and maybe it will change their life for the better. The realist in me believes that it will just end up as another piece of litter on the side of the road. Please, read the scripture, and then put it in your pocket to dispose of after the ride. Please consider this, and thank you.

      I had an 06 warrior I traded for my 09 raider. I had the warrior hopped up with churchkey vback intakes and track only computers and it was really about the same as the raider. Only my raider gets better gas mileage and is a smoother ride on the interstate. I would like to have both but I will take the Raider over the warrior.

    • @artistman75
      @artistman75 6 лет назад +2

      Coya Campbell you don't buy a 113 CI bike to get good mileage. Though I average 42mpg. I've gotten as little as 36 and as much as 48. It all depends on how much stopping you do.

    • @seanbutler2291

      Yea stock to stock the raider is faster soo i dont know what your talking about, and you dont get a 67 pontiac gto Muscle car and expect good gas mileage like a camry, its a MUSCLE bike not a touring or commuting bike, power takes fuel.

    It looks nice, but it just doesn't vibrate or sound like a Harley. Does Japan inc. just not understand why people buy Harleys? They could build a Harley spec motor if they wanted to. There is no magic in the Harley motor, it's wonderful feel and sound come from it's mechanical specs, and everybody knows what they are. Any manufacturer could build an engine that felt and sounded exactly like a Harley. I ride a Harley for those two reasons alone, not for the name on the tank, or the made in America thing (most of it isn't) or the lifestyle (I ride alone most of the time) Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda, just build a bike that feels and sounds like a Harley, and I just might buy it. I wouldn't even care if it didn't look anything like a Harley.

    This bike is more bark than bite. Put her next to a Honda 1800 VTX, and the Honda leaves her in the dust in several categories.

    • @mr.solitude3352
      @mr.solitude3352 6 лет назад +2

      +Sn0wb0ardBum 2/10ths of a second slower than the Yamaha? Gee willickers, that's a humongous accomplishment for the Raider. Note that I said "several categories". Handling is a huge one for me, and the Raider has nothing on the VTX in that ballpark. To each his or her own is right.

    • @C8guy84
      @C8guy84 6 лет назад +5

      Sn0wb0ardBum I would have to agree. We have a vtx1800 in our club, the raider leaves it every time by a bike and a half.

    • @mr.solitude3352
      @mr.solitude3352 6 лет назад +4

      It all depends on why you ride, natch. I don't ride to drag race. I prefer to ride 3-5 hours to natural wonders like Zion National Park. Depends, indeed, on why you ride.

    • @ericx7476
      @ericx7476 6 лет назад +1

      ...raider beats the 1800 vtx hands down. Looks better too.
      When it comes to comfort & handling, everybody is different. I don’t like the 1800vtx as much. I like the raider a lot. TO ME the handling is good for how I ride, it’s comfortable, looks 100X better than the 1800vtx..I tried them both, I would buy a raider...but my #1 dream bike right now is the Yamaha eluder. I ride a v star 950.. half the CC’s of these big bikes. I don’t need a lot of power right now...but definitely will in a year or two.

    • @mr.solitude3352
      @mr.solitude3352 6 лет назад +1

      No need for me to suggest anything; I'll get right to the point. When you ride long distance, the smoothness of your bike's engine, or lack thereof, contributes to the fatigue factor. Honda, generally speaking, builds the smoothest engines around. That's another category where the 1800 VTX rules in its class.
