    I have a raider also and thought I would trade for a harley and had the deal all worked out . I pulled my bike out of the trailer looked at what I was about to do .I turned and told the sells man I could not make the trade .On my way home I felt like I was trading down for a lesser bike. It felt good bringing my bike back home where it belongs

    My step father and my grand father both had one of these in 09. I had my first bike, which was a 1984 Honda V65 Magna. That used to be the fastest production bike in the world, for a few years. The Raider S was faster to 60 and launches like a car. I caught them around 110 mph and started to pull away convincingly by 120+ mph. The Raider is a monster and a beautiful bike!

    I'm only 5'10". I spent a lot of time going back and forth between a new Raider and a used Warrior. In the end I got the Warrior, and don't regret it one bit. However, if the opportunity ever comes up to add a Raider to the stable, I will. The Warrior has the "baby brother" 1700 cc engine, but weighs in about 70 to 100 pounds less than the Raider. It also has a much shorter wheelbase (think bulldog compared to the Raider's greyhound) which makes it much tighter turning. I've ground the peg sliders off in the corners. I hope Yammie brings back the big air cooled engines.......

      The M109r is faster to be honest... Just a bike length or 2 in a drag but its all plastic. Its gonna be a preferential thing for you... All metal and chrome on the raider or plastic fantastic on the 109. Some things to know... Almost all the raider aftermarket is sold out and crazy hard to find anything that's not beat to crap and or not 3-4x the original cost.. What you can find is engine performance options though. Plenty of kits out there to make the 113 into a 120. Even starting to come out with turbo kits for it. Its pretty bulletproof.

    The raider is my favorite ride. I have a 2014 I bought new. I added a batwing fairing, and today made some trick adapters using the 4 rear fender mounts to add hard cased leather fringe XL saddlebags. Those came off a '74 Shovelhead I had years ago. The roll-on is unbelievable and an absolute blast to ride. I bought a 2018 BMW K1600 B to add to the stable, but I still prefer the Raider.
    My wife and I tour on the new Yamaha Venture, it has a similar looking V-twin, but it's a whole different beast. We even tow a Bushtec trailer with that bike on cross-country trips.

    I have a 1200 HD Sportster with a high performance cam, 2into1 pipes, dyno, high flow air-cleaner. It's a fun bike with mostly good revs in the mid to high end range.A definite upgrade from stock. However, It's lacking in torque in the bottom and just seems to leave you wanting more. I looked at this bike for two years and came real close to buying it until I came across a 2018 HD Breakout 114" and took it for a test ride and bought it 15 min later. Put about 2000 miles on it and did a fuel moto stage 2 and now it's making 116/127 at the tire and absolutely love it but yes I did look at the Raider and the m109 but after I got tired of my 2015 Honda Gold Wing Valkyrie I bought a brand-new break out in 2018

    • @seanbutler2291
      @seanbutler2291 4 года назад

      116/127 torque I'm assuming? Cuz there's multiple dynoed 114s with your mods, showing it barely hits 100 hp at best

    • @Bondarms410
      @Bondarms410 4 года назад +1

      Sean Butler 116/127 is to the ground so the motor is making 126/137 and would love to run a M109r for shits and grins.

      @seanbutler2291 4 года назад

      @@Bondarms410 no no I'm asking if ur jus stating torque? Cuz that would be believable, but hp no. Iv seen plenty of 114 dynos, ur not hitting over 100hp at stage 2. Ud be lucky to get 97 at stage 2. Stage 4 gets u to like 110 to the wheel hp that is. And btw 2 equal riders racing breakout vs m109r, m109r will take the breakout 9 out of 10 times, the m109r is much higher revving, with as much torque. And much more hp than the breakout

    • @Bondarms410
      @Bondarms410 4 года назад

      Sean Butler ok then tell fuel moto and they're techs they don't know what they're talking about because my set up is a fuel moto set up and they told me my numbers would be 115/126 with just they're stage 2 set up and after about a month of riding it i stoped at a local HD dealer and had them throw my bike on a Dyno to see if FM was right with their numbers or not and for $60.00 I got one pull on the Dyno and my numbers were 116/127 and I know several people who have all went with FM setups and all they're numbers are spot on with what FM is saying. The woods performance 22x cam kit makes some great power on a 114 with the stock heads.

    • @Bondarms410
      @Bondarms410 4 года назад

      BTW, if your talking about Harley SE stage 4 then I see why your numbers are what they are. I wouldn't put SE parts on my bicycle. There's a lot better aftermarket companies out there making way better power then the HD line of performance parts. Send me your email and send you my Dyno sheet for you to see and go over.

Bike will do all day 40 mpg unless ur breaking the sound barrier 🙂 because this was not my 1st muscle bike I will say is quick 0 to 100 stock, but I also had the M109r and is a total beast and way faster especially top end will out run the Raider after 110mph. The rake on the raider will not make it a quick steering especially on the tight twisties, the older brother the Yamaha Warrior was a better handling bike with R1 inspired and upside down forks and break system...

    My GAWD, this is a beautiful beast ! What are the chances of a bike set for a 6'6" ? DAAaaaaamn. My Honda Interceptor had 116hp, so I can only imagine how friggen' AWESOME this bike is and screw Harley the Fender Guitar / Mercedes of bikes. Japanese cruisers are the pinnacle of bikes. I see what you mean this is the Sport Cruiser. AMAZING !! YAMAHA makes the best everything. I play Yamaha bass amps, and like Honda, everything they make is good from generators to cars.

    you rright this is a great unknown bike. i have wqoned harleys since i was 16. i am 69 yrs old now. a while back maybe 6 months ago i have a dislocated left shoulder. i sold theharleys because i couldn t ride them anymore. to heavy and hard to handle. so me not ever being with out a motorcycle had to buy something. so i bought a honda 1100 vtx a great bike for less than 3 grand. way less. i love it then i bought a honda gold wing. well the wing is fine on long tri[s but not so much around town. a buddy of mine said you should buy a yamaha raider. i said what is that? only yamaha i have ever owned was when i was a kid a 125 enduro . rest was harleys so i found a week ago this beautiful raider cady red. vance and hines pips. a power commander just a beautiful bike.. only had 2100 miles on it for 4500. now i would never ever buy another harley. damn this is a monster. not a beginers bike at all. let just say it now has over 3200 miles in less than a week. love it. lots of power and handles like a dream.a unknown gem

      @@BigFastJake unfortunately the import tax system in the Netherlands is kind of looney but of course very lucrative for the state treasury. Couple that with the fact that the Raider wasn't meant to be sold on European markets, most of them had to be imported. Hence the much inflated retail price...

    I bought a 2014 Galaxy Blue Raider S in May 2022 with 2,011 miles on it. Best bike of 25 I have owned! I just went over 5,000 miles and changed the oil again with Rotella T6 synthetic. If I need to be critical, here are some issues: It takes about three hours to change the engine oil (3 bolts) and filter and gear oil (with cleanup). The bike is heavy, about 735 lbs. I wish it had a gear indicator and a tachometer. The weak starter is a factory flaw. I have to be super careful removing the gas cap when filling with gas so I do not drop the cap on the tank (I wish it was attached to the tank). That's all of my minor gripes. The bike is awesome!
