Thank you for this information! I didn’t even know that my limited Venza 2021 has this feature! After I watched your video , I try it and it does work!!! Thank you and Happy Blessed New Year!
I've always hated that it turns off when you open the door. I guess it's a safety feature, so someone else doesn't drive away with your car. I'm glad that they have a regular remote start with the 2024 Tacoma. Hopefully other new models have it as well.
Hey Jeff, I quite like your videos. Keep up the good work. I have a Venza Limited and there's one thing I noticed about it when I wash the car. The automatic mirrors open and close a few times while I'm washing the car. I believe this happens when water is running past the door handles. I think the handles sense the water as if it's your hand touching the handle. Try this the next time you wash the car and let me know if this happens to you. I thought this might be something you can mention in your videos about this vehicle. Thanks for the videos. Watching from Winnipeg, Canada.

Hahahahaa it is so funny because they said my references were very old and then they made fun of me because I celebrated it starting by swinging a golf club and hitting a baseball and throwing and catching a football
Hello Jeff. I got my Venza LE and the remote start didn’t work. Is the remote start standard to all trim levels? It looks available in your review. I tried the process and it didn’t work.
Remote start killed my neighbors. The key fob was activated with van in closed garage. They fell asleep and never woke up. Tragic and the main reason why its optional and not standard equipment. Also, most smoke detectors dont pickup CO to wake you. If you have kids, avoid it!
Must have been an aftermarket product. On all of our cars that came with remote start requires you to be intentional with the buttons. Not only that but they will only run for 10 min max for safety reasons.
Thanks for posting Jeff. Left comments for YourMoms podcast . They seem like they could use a little more life in their show. Rock on Jeff. Your d man.
I now have my new Venza limited. I really enjoy your videos. Wish Toyota would let you get in the car with it running and shut it off if you don’t press say the start button first with the key in the car. Otherwise it shuts off. The key fob has no range either. Mobile app is great. Keep the videos rolling. Love ya Jeff. How about one with you and the wife in her new Highlander?
Other videos from Steven Welch says the vehicles must have Remote Connect installed to use remote start on key fob. It is also a subscription service that is free for a period of time, must sub after free trial to continue remote start feature. Supposedly aftermarket systems will not currently work on 2021 models, possibly subject to change.
Thank you Jeff for letting us know everything about the vehicle. You are and always will be knowledge source for everything Toyota. Keep rocking. I have few questions. 1. Does remote starting unlocks the car? 2. Once remote starting the car, how long car runs till it stops. Thank you

I finally did it. It's a quick press of the buttons. That second press is within a second. But I still can't get my foot to activate the lift gate 🤷♀️
Just bought a 21 Venza today and it would not remote start for me at first, either, but after several tries, I finally figured out how to get it to start. As Bee Ruiz below said, you have to press down on the lock button and let go right away, and then immediately press down again, then immediately hold the lock button down until the car lights start flashing. Once they start flashing, you can let go and the car will finish starting. The timing is a little tricky, and I can't always get it to start on the first try, but it does work and I'm hoping that after a while I will figure out the exact timing to get it to start on the first try. It is a great option. It's interesting that the dealer only told us about using the Toyota app to start the car remotely using your phone. It's probably because it is a little tricky starting with your remote. Thanks, Jeff for this video. Without it, I would probably never have known you could remote start this car with the remote. Now to try the Toyota app...
Hi Jeff, thanks for the entertaining info re the ‘21 Venza. I leased mine last week, the 3 choices I had were 2 Limited’s and an XLE. The color was the hard part. I wound up getting the Ruby Flare Pearl. My 3rd car in a row with that color. The 2015, ‘18 Camry XSE were nice cars but those low profile tires are the Achilles heel, especially on Long Island, NY roads! So now I have more comfort and peace of mind plus all the new tech, I have the JBL & Nav system with the softtex upgrade. The limited is nice but the extra thousands of $ wasn’t for me, a good deal. Thanks for your remote start video today, I tried it and it works. I was told I have to use my phone and register this feature? Not sure why, what’s the range of this remote start?
Love my new Rav4 Hybrid but the remote start range is abysmal. If you’re 10 feet away from the car, what’s the point of remote start? Even worse, the fact that it shuts off when the door is open is stupid. Subaru has this same flaw and it needs to be fixed. To Subaru’s credit, the range destroys Toyota, and I mean triple the distance. Viper starters have 4-6 times the distance and the car doesn’t shut off when the door is opened.
I do not like this part about my Venza. I don’t want my car shutting off when it’s -20 degrees only to have to restart it again. The range on the fob his horrible so if your inside somewhere close to the garage or such it probably won’t start. They also should have put a menu in the car for the owner to customize what comes on with remote start. If you forget to leave heater or AC on when exiting vehicle and you come back after work to restart it’s a big waste no air no heat because you turned it off last time you were in the vehicle. Oh and the app? $8 a month to have it in the package. So to me their remote is practically worthless. I bring a work vehicle back to the shop at night and drive right past the parking lot my Venza is in, push the remote sequence and nothing happens, out of range really dumb. And if someone wants the car just because it shuts off when the door is opened they won’t take it? Are you serious? Just wait for the owner and take his/her fob. The car shutting off when door is opened is ignorant. Over engineering because they all think we need to be held by the hand in todays world of cry babies. This is probably the worst part of my Venza or should I say poor man’s Lexus clone
How long do you want to wait for one? There are only 5K being built for the first year and some are going waay above sticker. 😲 Supply and demand once again!
