No, she commented on what she saw at Woodstock 99, the videos show that the audience was mostly young white people. This event showcases Rape Culture and toxic masculinity in its purest form.
It was an incredible time for the first 2/3rds until it went off the rails. Thought to myself I’ll come back every 5 years if they keep doing these before starting to see the tides turn and getting out of there. Too bad.
This event was a perfect storm. First, you take half-a-million degenerates and put them out in sweltering heat for 3 days. Woodstock ‘69 was a financial disaster that happened to be salvaged by hippies who believed in peace and love. Of course, the late Michael Lang was so out of touch that he didn’t understand that late 90s kids were not hippies. And he wondered why nobody wanted to touch Woodstock 2019 with a ten foot pole? Musical festivals have always been a miserable experience for me personally. It’s way too hot, and you have to wait too long for your favorite acts to get on.

they shouldve had more security, and they should've shut it down the moment RHCP ended there show. Once shit hit the fan it turned into mad max, and a lot of young women got assaulted and raped that weekend.
That Woodstock 99 concert was a far out cry from the original 1969 concert which they have hippies and hippie musicians that are associated with the counterculture movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s. That Woodstock 99 concert was a total train wreck. It really wasn't. People just like to romanticize the original Woodstock. The original Woodstock reported more rapes than the 99 iteration and had exactly the same amount of deaths. Probably because Korn and Limp Bizkit were the hot new acts at the time and were what people of this age range were more into. Metallica were still in their Load/Reload era and were considered old guys by this point. Their whole set was mediocre, just like three songs from their classic albums while they were really trying hard to push this more mellow, bluesy 90's stuff they were doing and the Load/Reload songs dominated their set. Korn and Limp Bizkit were just taking off so no one realized how huge nu metal was getting at this time. By the time Metallica figured it out and tried to capitalize on it with St. Anger, the trend was on the decline already.
I know, i think the same. Chili Peppers doing Boston soon, like $200 a seat. We all bitched, but 4 full days at $40 a day for all those bands & camping was pretty good, even back then...

Disagree, but the promoters should have been prosecuted for endangering hundreds of thousands of young people with lack of security and improper sanitation.
The guy at 2:00 is right having metal and numetal mixed together was a mistake. Metal concerts used to have respect. NuMetal brought aggression for no good reason and that brought the fucking frat boys. Totally different vibe from metalheads.

Same I wish I was born like 89 lol I was born in 99
@@tayeeinthacut9661 ikr lol
The way mtv encouraged the young people of this time to act with their spring break bs and everything, they're definitely part of the blame here. Those women in the crowd look terrified!
Fact Woodstock 1969 still very much talked about the most favorite of the Woodstock concert's Then Woodstock 1994 still talked about now and then had some success I don't hear anybody talk about Woodstock 1999 because it sucked high prices for food and water people breaking and burning stuff down and other stupid shit There will probably never be another Woodstock concert again besides most of the music in 2022 totally sucks Not Trying To Pick A Fight Just Stating The Facts
Todays music sux, ya. But lots of people made 99 work while they were there. I made it a blast, even with the ending. Lots of other people had a blast & comment that on here. Everyone has their own opinion & your entitled to your own....The fires sucked & i put several out in my camp hood...And it did ruin it forever...DH
@@codered99 That's because you went for it's purpose to have a fun time not to be an asshole Those assholes I'm talking about burning shit down breaking shit and all the other BS wrecked it for people wanting to be there for a good time and enjoy the music So I can understand your opinion and experience as well. ROCK ON I hope your living a good life in 2022
@@johntoomey357 you do know why they did that though right?
@@griffithstone8527 I think because no food water outrageous prices for food and beverage

Wonder why Metallica wasn't mentioned in the new doc on Netflix
Metallica and Netflix are working together in differents proyects
Who's the narrator? Interviews someone 02:47?
Chris Connelly.
@@Blacklist_CAW thanks
why was 150 for the full 3 days seen as so much money? I've paid more then that for a one day festival
I know, i think the same. Chili Peppers doing Boston soon, like $200 a seat. We all bitched, but 4 full days at $40 a day for all those bands & camping was pretty good, even back then...
How old were you in 1999? It was an absurd amount of money for the show then. Think before you speak dummy.

Chris Connelly, I think.
The guy at 2:00 is right having metal and numetal mixed together was a mistake. Metal concerts used to have respect. NuMetal brought aggression for no good reason and that brought the fucking frat boys. Totally different vibe from metalheads.
I've been to Bloodstock (in the UK) a good number of times in recent years and it's a cool mix of the heaviest metal you can imagine and the nicest, most chilled out people around.
Nu-metal (for better or worse) was definitely a different vibe.

Wow. Hearing that $155 is a lot of money for a 3 day festival is hilarious lol. Only that much for one band
Even 23 yrs ago i thought it was a good deal. Stayed 4 days @ $40 a day with a tent site. Music and people were great, everything else suckd...
Sheryl crow kept it real... Why are they mad? Why they are mad still? 😠
Sheryl Crow used the tired philosophy of "If you're white you have no reason to be angry at anything". Which in turn treats black people like overgrown children, "its okay if you're angry sweetie, we won't be mad", I mean how is that not insulting to be treated like a baby.
@@rickyray2794 I think they want to be treated that way to be honest.

Incels being incels.
I was there, I’m not one to victim blame but the only women I saw got grabbed were the ones that crowd surfed topless or nude through basically a giant mosh pit. I think even if a guy did that naked he’d get his balls and ass grabbed. I never saw women act so crazy as those 3 days, a lot of the women were much crazier than the guys
Sounds like you’re victim blaming to me just a bit…. Some of those women were picked up, not all willingly wanted to crowd surf
The fruits of the democratic party.
I disagree with you it's all the republicans fault And that You can blame this on Reagan Because he was the 1st one to give tax breaks to the rich And turn the stock market into a casino
That's about as true as every rape cases reported at this concert.
Funny you say that, because a member of Guster, a band who played Woodstock ‘99, said they crowd was ‘MAGA before there was MAGA’ Pretty much 100% opposite of your take, from someone who was actually there. Go figure.
@@mostlysunny582 so very true then?
I think anyone regardless of race getting raked over the coals on ticket prices, overpriced concessions, all the while in oppressive heat would get pissed off. And Sheryl Crow sure benefited from all of those "white men". Hypocrite. Just shut up and play music.
