  • My Granny, Sarah Makem, was recorded by Sean O'Boyle and Peter Kennedy singing this song in her kitchen in 1952. They used it as the title and open theme for their radio show.

    Rory, I remember the first time I heard your Da sing this. I have tears in my eyes. Thank you! My family spent the afternoon of St. Paddy's Day eating at "Four Green Fields" pub, here in Tampa, with your Da's picture looking down at us from over the stage where he performed when the pub was brand new. I hope you can come perform there sometime (SOON!). May you and yours stay safe from this virus nightmare.
    EDIT: Okay, I'll stop listening to this song (for now). Five times is enough until later. ;)
