7:17 I actually had this happen in a 5v5 squad strike myself. My theory is that if you press something at the same moment that it just confuses the RNG and only runs the test once?? But just like this clip it was all 5 characters the same, just different Alts from each other and a different order
It’s bound to happen in a random system on occasion. I don’t think there’s any evidence it happens more frequently than we should expect it to.
@@0oShwavyo0 I’m pretty sure there’s already existing evidence that the random button in Ultimate is not truly random anyway (like I’ve heard it has preference to least or most played characters on the console). I’ve not done any testing of it myself but I think it’s at least part of why online random character selectors exist
@@0oShwavyo0oh it happens a ton on 5v5 all random squad strike. Getting 1-3 dittos is pretty much a given from my experience
@@Diamond_Aura Its not truly random, it is more likely to pick characters you have played less.
However, this would make getting a ditto more likely, not less.
Also, I dont know how much the weight for that randomness actually is either, I just know it exists.

6:30 Doods. You have to turn on stale moves in training to get that freshness bonus damage you get in real matches.
By the way, clank happens when two attacks are within 9% difference with consideration to 1v1 multiplies, freshness, or staleness. Not base damage. This is important to know in certain interactions such as deleting a fully charged Samus charge shot with a Ganon fair for example.
If you do a lot of squad strike back to back, I dont know why, but you always end up having the same characters as your opponent or at least 3 almost every game.

Just to add it's not true, but there are several punishes for escapes though like down air. Either way if you're up a stock and opponent at 0. 100 percent worth going for true or not as a lot will jump and lose jump

7:28 once I was playing with my friend on the train and we got the 5 same characters.
There is 83 fighters possible when choosing random, and once a player selected it he canot pick it again. (It doesn't matter which characters I got, what matter is that the 2nd team are the same characters)
So it was 5/83 x 4/82 x 3/81 x 2/80 x 1/79 = 3.44419081e-8
The thing is random in computers are not 100% random, and unless the random seed was changed for every character there would be a way higher likelihood of repeat characters. But I no nothing about Ultimates random generator so you might just have gotten insanely lucky.
Somehow this has happened for me twice with the same person, although we do play random squad strike a lot
1/83 * 1/82 * 1/81 * 1/80 * 1/79 right? You’re selecting 1 char each time, not 5 the first time, 4 the second, etc. probability of picking any one character out of the group is 1 divided by size of the group. Don’t have something handy to do the math rn but it should be even less likely than your calculation.

No..? All I remember is she gets higher gravity which allows her to better survive upwards knockback, but in that case diagonal knock becomes more deadly towards the side blastzones

It's a lot more common than you think, I had 6 games of 3v3 squads in a row where both temas shared a character and the last one was even 2 shared characters. Pretty much every session theres lots of shared characters. Idfk why but others have had this phenomenon too
Probability of any given three character combo is: 1/83 * 1/82 * 1/81 or 1/551,286
Probability of that happening twice is 1/551,286 * 1/551,286, or 1/303,916,253,796
So yeah you were right, it’s a little over 1/1,000,000,000 😅
1 or 2 shared characters is much much more likely. ~1/80 chance for 1 shared character, and ~1/6400 for 2. If you play a lot of squad strike you might see a shared character every day or so, and two shared characters every month or so.
Why did game and watch oil spill do 54% if they only measured 50 and 51?

7:30 I think it may be a glitch, it happens to me a lot of times in squad battles, that in a random 5v5 there are 3 or 4 repeated characters, even at some time I got 5/5.

Note that Deep Breathing decreases the damage Wii Fit Trainer receives, so the bucket from G&W would have been much stronger.
