Hi. I’ve been using this keyboard/trackpad for about 3 months and have been very happy with it. I’ve seen some other RUclips reviewers give their opinion on these devices and wholeheartedly agree with them. Most of the low performance in these devices can be attributed to apple impeded the performance of these devices so that you will go buy their crazy expensive unit. Proof to the 13.4.5 upgrade more of the gesture functions worked perfectly on this device. So apple obviously did something to screw with the performance of this device for the previous reason that I mentioned. At some point apple is going to have to give these devices their original capabilities back.
From what I understand, this keyboard was out before Apple released official trackpad support in iPad OS 13.4. It actually works worse than it did before the update was released because it was optimized for the previous versions of iPad OS with the accessibility "mouse". I assume this applies to similar cases in the price range. At least for right now
As Soon as Brydge came out with the firmware update to the Brydge Pro + I have been using it all the time and retired my Magic Keyboard. Now when the 2021 M1 iPad Pro came out I ordered the Brydge Max+ and have been very happy with it and never looked back with my decision to drop the Apple Magic Keyboard.
I have heard that third party mice and trackpads are no longer working properly after the 13.4 update. My Lenovo Yoga mouse used to scroll and now it doesn’t work well. That said the Magic Trackpad 2 (with the Apple keyboard) is a game changer. I am hardly using my Mac any more. Glad you got outside and avoided the plague. Now go in and celebrate.
To be fair, there is another post about a recent iPad OS update that caused the scrolling from the vaunted Microsoft Surface touch mouse to not work nearly as good as before. Apple apparently has made it difficult for third party accessories to work well with iPads
So the main and only purpose I want/need a Touchpad is because, for me, selecting, editin, and highlighting words when typing is extremely difficult for me to do with my finger, and the cheap one I got works just fine for it if youre patient with it. You have to make compromises when you just dont have much money, my iPad was a gift, so its hard for me to get the expensive accessories. I gotta say, i really do enjoy the keyboard and it works fine for basic Writing/Typing.
Had it for a day and got rid of it. The trackpad was the deal breaker and also how the iPad sat in the lid. I ended up just getting a nice stand and a jelly comb foldable keyboard with trackpad and although it does not have multitouch, the scrolling is smooth and it has some gestures. Really want to grab the magic keyboard but 350 is so much for a keyboard case. Ill stick to my foldable keyboard with trackpad/external mouse and when I need a great typing experience Ill just use my slim foilo pro! Keep up the good work Noah.
What about the cases that have the magnetic keyboards and pencil holders for the ipads that have the sucky apple smart keyboards and the pencils that arent magnetic
Yeah. I don't buy from Amazon anymore, most off brand products you can just get it off of Aliexpress for a much cheaper price, Amazon just charges a unnecessary premium for them.
Noah Herman that’s exactly what I did. I bought a $30 case + keyboard combo and a couple weeks ago I bought a $15 Bluetooth mouse. Works fine for me and is only $45 (for technically three different products as I can take off the keyboard from my iPad case)
To be fair, even the more expensive keyboards with touchpad like Brydge has similar issues with 2 or 3 fingers gestures. It's more to do with Apple releasing the API to 3rd party manufacturers
I bought one for my 2018 iPad Pro 11. The touchpad doesnt even click, but for $70 its not that that bad. $70 compared to the $299 magic keyboard , ill stick to this typecase keyboard
The iPad Pro is perhaps the ultimate portable computer for either the digital artist or mobile professional- Fantastic display, bright and sharp. First thing I wanted. Thanks for the excellent post 🙏
i mean like lets just wait for the official magic keyboard (even if its expensive since it assures quality from apple) But I mean there are alternatives and I really hope they are as good or atleast good to work on
For me, I really just need Point and Click for Writing. It gets really difficult to Edit Text like Select, highlight, copy, paste, and just get the caret in the right place. I guess I will get used to scrolling with my finger because I just cant afford the Magic Keyboards after dropping so much on the iPad already lol.
Thanks for the review. I was thinking about savings some $$ by purchasing one of the less expensive keyboard cases. I’m glad I watched your review first. The one concern I have with the magic keyboard case is I like how the Apple keyboard case folds back, so I can use the iPad as a tablet without detaching it. It doesn’t look like the magic keyboard case will do that. Hopefully, you’ll be reviewing other keyboard cases (with trackpad built in) that might be a better option.
Dude You need to have assistive touch on AS STATED in the settings when you set up an bluetooth mouse/trackpad. Then it would work smoothly problem solved. This review is not accruate and he didnt know you needed and just put a bad review on a product that is really good, just apple needs you to have this setting on idk why
This is some valuable information, thank you. I’m sure many people are trying to save money buying third hand equipment, and you may have saved them from being upset with their purchase in the long run.
NONON This review is total bs You need to have assistive touch on AS STATED in the settings when you set up an bluetooth mouse/trackpad. Then it would work smoothly problem solved. Rip.
I broke this case while attempting to take it off. I had no choice!! You can tell I was literally bending my iPad because the pressure spots would appear on the screen. I was terrified it would leave some sort of mark or light bleed. Scary lol
You should say what brand it is so we don’t end up buying it.. I’m looking into the new doqo for the 2020 iPad Pro you can pull it off the keyboard with the case too. You should do a review on it.
I bought an Officelab floating keyboard for my iPad Air 4 for $85 and it works great. The trackpad works using multi-gestures and the keyboard feels good if not to the same high standard of the Apple magic keyboard but is a great purchase. I guess it is a bit more of a lottery buying a cheaper version and maybe I got lucky but I’m very happy.Keep up with the good content.
There are a lot of case/keyboards in 50/60 price range that do work just fine. no lag, multi-gestures work and aside from short battery (100 or so hours) and connecting via Bluetooth they are 99% functional as the best options. The choppy scrolling isn't as bad on all Bluetooth models. Worst case i suggest trying the cheaper ones, then if it doesn't work ditch it and buy the best.
I will say, I have one of these cheep keyboards without a track pack, and it is great. I’m using it right now. BUT with that being said, do I want the new Magic one, yes. But what I have right now is great, and 100% worth the 30$ price tag.

After iOS 13.4, many 3rd party accessories with trackpads and even mice such as Microsoft ones have ceased to properly function with the full gesture support. Prior to this, it worked well. Most trackpad + keyboard products need to be updated for iOS 13.4, and apple has indeed inhibited some functionality from 3rd party some mice and trackpads. Therefore, you should wait a while before buying keyboard + trackpad cases
Even the brydge pro with trackpad which was a 150 dollar case doesn't support the multi touch gestures. I think we should we a bit more till an actual magic keyboard alternative comes.
You should talk about what's the experience with just a bluetooth mouse: It's of course not an option for people that just want the sleekness and extra gestures of the new trackpad but while I am sure better third party trackpad keyboards will come at some point, just throwing a 20 bucks bluetooth mouse on your backpad while you keep your old keyboards would be pretty decent, but I guess it COULD be but it depends on the mouse and how well Apple handles it on this new ipados update.
I actually got this almost two weeks ago. I agree with Noah; the product is decent but not necessarily worth 75 dollars. I still do not regret my purchase because I have the IPad pro 10.5 inch. I plan on upgrading in the near future, so I do not want to spend a lot of money on something that will probably become obsolete by the time I upgrade. If you have the 2018 Ipad pro or the latest one, definitely DO NOT buy this case. The only positive is the nice keyboard (I personally really like the keyboard).
In May, Logitech is going to unveil a keyboard case with trackpad for the 10.2” iPad and (possibly) the iPad Air. Could you do a review on that after your Magic Keyboard video?
This format is plenty sufficient to get the "not worth it here's why" point across for these kinds of products but pls my boi u gotta RAKE THESE LEAVES
I have many (good) brydge keyboards, but the pro+ does not support all the gestures of ipados and it's not as fluid as apple trackpad (based on the first reviews). Hope it can be updated at some point and it's not just a hardware difference that can't be fixed...
Hi Noah, I wish I would have seen the video just last week. I just bought I believe the same iPad case you were talking about. I basically only wanted the keyboard not the track pad it is too sensitive and it glitches a lot. Do you have any suggestions for a wireless keyboard without a track pad Mouse for the Apple iPad air fourth generation? I hope you are doing well it looks like you have a lot of work to do in your yard lol
Hi Noah, you just saved me some $$. Thanks mate. I have an old iPad Pro 9.7. Any idea if there are any reliable keyboard cases (with a trackpad) for it? I'm close to giving up and going for the Logitech ones for the 9.7 model.
Now, for a student, which iPad Pro should I get? The 11 inch or the 12,9inch? My budget is basically 1000 bucks! I take a lot of notes, but I travel a lot so I need something compact. Also, Im planing to use this tablet for heavy media consomption matters. I’ve heard that the 12,9inch is heavy once you use it for a while. Now, in my country I can get the iPad Pro 11inch for roughly 850€ and the 12,9inch for 1060€. Is it worth it the extra 210€? I think the answer is yes, but is it really what I need? I also gotta buy the pen.. they keyboard.. can someone help me?
Yeah, most, if not all, third-party trackpads AND Apple's first-generation Magic Mouse/Trackpad do not support multitouch gestures at all, so you're really limited to using Apple's second-generation Magic Mouse/Trackpad if you want to get the most of the trackpad experience. I would be really interested if Logitech's upcoming keyboard/trackpad case designed for iPad 7th gen/iPad Air 3rd gen supports those gestures, and I'd definitely be looking forward to that video.

claire rose there isn’t any other options right now besides the bridge which the trackpad on there is horrible and doesn’t support gestures or scrolling
Kieran B. there are a few other options... you’re right they don’t work well rn with apple’s new update for trackpad support but i’m really hoping they update to make it compatible with third party trackpads!!!
It is cheap compared to others but... To be honest, I'd rather pay the extra bucks if it means that I'd get to keep that for a longer time period. Buying something cheap isn't always practical, I think that buying something that is convenient and you could use for a long run, is much more practical!
Hey, Noah, I wanna ask you something, I was looking for refurbished iPad pro-2018 12.9 inch 64gigs in apple store sadly they ran out of stock, do you know when they are making more???, or I should go for 2020 :(
Thanks for the video. Do you have any recommendations for a keyboard for a 12.9" 4th gen pro? I really would like function keys at the top and no kick stand thingy(logitech) to keep the monitor up. Thanks!
Hey just so you know, the brydge case does the same thing. This happens with every trackpad except the magic pad 2 and mouse 2. It’s 100% on Apple for not allowing them to work well. Check some reviews on the brydge case.

I'm surprised it even managed to do side scrolling........it's better than I hoped. It's definitely a software issue. Just wait until May-June, a nice sub 100$ trackpad keyboard will show up.
I want the keyboard to type, and copy and past on my ipad (is there an issue with the scrolling while highlighting something to copy ??) if so please let me know if not it would be a great buy for me and fix my issue currently
I want the magic keyboard but it is way to overpriced!! Wish you can show us an alternative that’s good! I saw this same one on amazon and it did look intriguing
Nah, too much money You need to have assistive touch on AS STATED in the settings when you set up an bluetooth mouse/trackpad. Then it would work smoothly problem solved. This review is not accruate and he didnt know you needed and just put a bad review on a product that is really good, just apple needs you to have this setting on idk why
Thank you so much for this - I was just about to get one.

Will you be reviewing Brydge Pro+, it’s kinda expensive but it seems like a great deal and it comes from a respectable brand and you can really tell by the quality of it.
Honestly im just gonna wait for the magic keyboard to come out so i can get it on my carrier as a monthly installment and say i just paid 50% of its cost. Since $6.25 monthly isnt even a lot.
How many months before you finished paying it?

Thank you for the “heads up” review!! These really are super helpful!! 👍🙏
Psst! Did you know that iPads have touch screens? Dude - I bought an even cheaper one from Amazon and fully expected that the trackpad would be goofy. Scrolling with the touch screen works just fine.
I found one for $40 do you think that’s a good price do u think if it will be the same as this? Or would it work with the new iPadOS 13.4
U could use wireless keyboards and mouse too! Tho it is a hassle bringing so much stuff.
Hi sir.. I have a 5 months old Samsung tab s6 10.5. I feel its small size... now I am tempted and thinking of buying iPad 2020. Is it really a good purchase over tab s6. I watch mainly lot of movies. Book reading and taking notes.. i never used ios before.. i heard there are lots of rich and high quality apps than Android.. whats your suggestion.. i am confused of it.. kindly help me
It’s Levet brand and it’s good or just depends on the person.
Does the trackpad works well? Scrolling?
I saw on AliExpress keyboard that looks like real Smart Keyboard with smart connector for iPad 7, but it have a green color!?? Can you watch what is it?
only tech youtuber that really talks and stuff to fans
Is it just the iPad airs. I just ordered a case for my iPad 7 is it going to be able to scroll.
Can you Yelp me i have a typecase flexbook and it wont let me connect it and when its fully charged and when i Charge it again it says that its dead :(
can you test out some thick cases or some inexpensive case for the ipad pro
Woah is that the canvas app in your dock? Our college uses the same application amidst the covid-19
Great advise! Do you know if there is a keyboard better than the original apple keyboard for IPad Pro 10,.5?

This is why I can’t wait for the magic keyboard
Kieran B. Yea but it´s the price of a used Macbook pro lol.. and it doesn’t fold into tablet mode - for $350, you’re foolish to buy it
Marcus Spinelli but there’s no other option and it’s not confirmed yet that it doesn’t have tablet mode
Marcus Spinelli also it doesn’t have function keys😫 i’m not paying $300 if i can’t turn down brightness, turn up volume, or exit an app w it😕
claire rose there isn’t any other options right now besides the bridge which the trackpad on there is horrible and doesn’t support gestures or scrolling
Kieran B. there are a few other options... you’re right they don’t work well rn with apple’s new update for trackpad support but i’m really hoping they update to make it compatible with third party trackpads!!!
You can adjust the scrolling speed bro... besides the Magic keyboard is as much as a used Macbook pro lol
So what is a good keyboard case for iPad 6gen 9.7? For people who have low budget?
Aye might not be first comment but here to show me support love your vids😍
Did the product page say it was a multi touch keyboard?
You should try the bridge pro +
It is cheap compared to others but... To be honest, I'd rather pay the extra bucks if it means that I'd get to keep that for a longer time period. Buying something cheap isn't always practical, I think that buying something that is convenient and you could use for a long run, is much more practical!
It would be lit if someone could make a rbg gaming keyboard case and trackpad
What? Did you buy that for 75 dollars. You know that item sells in china for around 15 dollars
Thank you for an honest review! Saved me a lot of time and shipping hassle (especially during a “shelter in place” order).
Keep up the great content!
