      @bluebird1ist Thanks for the comment, and sorry for the delay. Well, I believe the delete button (not to be confused with the backspace key) will delete in reverse. ruclips.net/video/3k34uOvhSWQ/видео.htmlfeature=shared. I wasn't able to find anything on the lock part. I assume a long press will enable it. Mine doesn't seem to be working at the moment to test that.

    What do you think of their magic keyboard, the type case edge keyboard. I’ve just graduated, usually use my iPad for browsing or taking notes with the Apple Pencil. I used my MacBook Pro early 2015 for all other assignments. As I head into the workforce, would you recommend I get a typecase Bluetooth keyboard for my iPad or hold off and just buy a new Mac by the end of this year. Obviously there is a huge price point difference and I’m not sure what I should do. Also usually companies give their employees laptops/devices, so would it even make sense to buy myself a new Mac? I don’t knooow! Please help!

      Hello @Soumya Shrinath Congrats on your graduation and it's exciting for me to talk to those entering the workforce. I highly recommend you hold off and buy a new Mac by the end of the year. If I had to choose, I'd say the 14" MacBook Pro but the one with the M2 chip (yet to be announced). To me, this laptop would last you another 5+ years easily. Or you could take the plunge and get the 14" that is available now (that's the one I use and I selected the M1 Pro chip). This machine is a work-horse and can produce circles around my iPad Pro.
      Now, I love my iPads too, but to me, the pads are better for "consuming" stuff and less suited to "creating stuff" with one exception being art and the pencil. What industry/profession are you pursuing? For example, if you are looking to be a software engineer, you most certainly want to get a laptop. If on the other hand, your work only requires surfing the web and writing email, then you could get away with the iPad Pro and a Bluetooth keyboard. I know tons of successful business owners who run their world with just an iPad (some with just an iPhone). But at the end of the day, the "real work" gets done with a laptop in my humble opinion.
      You also have to understand that I'm "old-school" having graduated college in 1991 when the iPad was science fiction. So, my entire world revolves around computers. Yes, I have 3 iPads so I can test software and such, but I do all my "work" on computers. So, I say invest in a computer all the way if you want to have all the options available at your fingertips to create anything you can dream of. And you'll still have your pad on the side when you need it.
      Apple will take your 15" in trade too by the way. They may not give you much for it at this point, but it's a nice deal they have going. Oh, and prices for a standard M1 may also go down a bit by the end of the year when they release more of the M2 models if your budget is such that a second-hand M1 is better for you. The M1 is nothing to sneeze at. It will surely drive circles around your 15" for sure.
      Best of luck and drop us a line when you've made your decision if you get the chance. Thanks! - Marc

    I enjoyed your video thanks for the info. Is it possible to turn all the backlight functions off? And why is there a delay when I open my case to start typing I have to wait for it to cycle through the colors before it will accept typing from the keyboard?

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  2 года назад +1

      Hello Deana!
      1) Yes, it's possible to turn the light off. In fact, there is a dedicated button to do that (it's located right above plus (+) key). Technically, this is the brightness button but you can toggle to the point where it turns off too.
      2) Hmm - I'm not able to duplicate this so long as I leave the keyboard on. I leave my keyboard on all the time and just let it go to sleep on its own. That way when I open the cover, it doesn't have to "start-up" which is what it's doing (cycling through the colors) when you turn on the Bluetooth button on the right.
      Let me know if you have any more questions... Thanks for watching!

      Haha yes! That is my "training headset." I use for my main music channel mostly. This allows me to play the keys and hear things while at the same time having the headset mic follow my head as I move it left to right without losing volume. Much better than a Lav mic or a stationary podcast mic for most things. Although I have those too when needed. But at the end of the day, ya, it looks like I'm coaching pro football - but it gets the job done. 👍🏻

    Multi touch on this trackpad? Does it work properly?

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  2 года назад +3

      Hello @Lucas Saboia Sorry for the delay on this response. So, technically the trackpad supports multi-touch but it doesn't work as well as using two fingers on the pad exactly. Yes, you can right click by introducing two fingers. Yes, you can scroll up and down with two fingers inside a document. However, swiping right and left with two fingers in the pictures app doesn't appear to work while this same gesture using two fingers on the iPad screen itself works. So, I think it's a mixed bag. But yes, you can definitely tell it supports multi-touch - but the actual functionality in how it behaves in specific areas could be a question. If there is something specific you'd like me to test, I'd be happy to do that if possible. Good luck!

    Hi, how is it holding up after months of usage?

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  2 года назад

      It's holding up very well. I can't detect an ounce of looseness where you might think the rotating hinge would get loose over time. Not so... (I just tested it again just now). I use this daily to watch movies/documentaries while cooking etc so I'm always closing/opening and moving it around. I have to say, it's holding up better than expected now that you mention it. Good question!

    How is the trackpad
    Does it work.
    Is it good quality

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  2 года назад +1

      The trackpad is surprisingly good (although not nearly as smooth as a trackpad on a typical MacBook computer). I'm still getting used to having a track pad on an iPad but it comes in handy sometimes just to have a cursor. It adds a whole new opportunity to be more productive on your iPad with the trackpad. So, I think the quality is very good and it works well. It's not as "smooth" as a MacBook but it gets the job done.

    How well do the touch pad work all around?

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  2 года назад

      Hello @Rodney Simmons I think overall the touchpad works well (not as smooth and slick as a Mac laptop), but not bad considering. As I reflect back on this case now that I've used it for several months, I think my only complaint is the fact that it's a touch "top-heavy." Other than that, I think it's really a good case and does a terrific job protecting the pad. Oh and the pad does become quite a bit heavier with the case but perhaps that is to be expected as it's made of a hard, durable plastic which protects it far better than most of the Apple cases available.

    When charging the keyboard, how long does that take? And how long will it operate before it will need recharging? Hope you can help.

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  3 года назад +3

      Hello @Kawika Tamaki According to the manual, the charge time is less than two hours and it says that the continuous working time without backlight is 60 hours! It doesn't give a time with the backlight on but perhaps we can just say less than 60 hours. It also says that the keyboard life span is greater than 5 million strokes. It has an operating distance of 33 feet (which is typical for Bluetooth). Although I have no idea why you'd be 33 feet away from your iPad when using it. 😆
      Hope that helps! It has been a good case so far and I've used it now every day for nearly 2 months. The case hasn't seemed to loosen up at all (a good thing). I don't use the keyboard as much as the iPad itself as I mostly use to watch movies and some email and surfing. As a case, it has been great. It's a bit heavy (but so is the pad) and if you open it up too far, it's top-heavy (which I demonstrated in the video). Other than those small things, it has been terrific.

    The most annoying thing about this case (i have an older version) is that if the mouse pad is activated, the keyboard is so sensitive that when i start typing, it constantly takes me out of the page I’m typing on. So i have to keep disabling the mouse pad, which seems to enable me to type. Then the mouse pad keeps reenabling and the problem is a constant annoyance. What am i doing wrong? Thanks.

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  Год назад +1

      Hello @Janet Hague - sorry for the delay in this response. I'm not sure what to do about this. It's probably not as sophisticated as an Apple trackpad (for example), where it senses the difference between a "palm rest" and a finger. If I discover anything, I'll be sure to report it back here.

    One thing I don’t like is it don’t have a pencil holder for charging Apple Pencil

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  2 года назад +1

      Well, it actually does have a place where the pencil connects to the outside of the case. The pencil is not inside the case like you see with other versions but the magnet holds it in place and it will charge there as well. How do I speed up the key board when I’m typing?

    • @MeTechie
      @MeTechie  2 года назад

      Hello Melvin. I notice that when you first go to use the keyboard (after the keyboard and pad have been sleeping), it takes a few seconds for it to "respond" Once it gets going, however, I can type at light speed. So, I think it's just the act of the Bluetooth getting connected again slowing us down. Another thing to do is to close all apps and even restart the iPad every so often. This will help things keep speedy. But the M1 chip really chews thew everything. Do you also notice a "hesitation" when you first fire up the keyboard and start typing or is it slow for you all the time?

    When I opened my case, the top seems to be on backward. I cannot raise the lid to any position, it just goes out flat. (I don’t want to force it) The keyboard is on the bottom, the iPad is stretched out on top, but I cannot raise it to put it in laptop mode. When I swivel the top (holding the pad) over the keyboard, they are stacked on top of each other. It does not create a case. Can you help me figure out what’s wrong??
