I mean, there kinda is. It's just that instead of hillbilly swamp dwellers cursing each other out and potentially chucking whatever dangerous chemicals they might have in arms reach, it's actually hags literally cursing each other and definitely chucking whatever dangerous liquid they have at each other.

If you can make sweet baked goods, IE what fey consider to be 'gold bars', you can basically go through the wilds without much issue. Pixies pranking you? Set out a goodberry pie and ask them to stop for the pie, they'll gladly accept and even help you. Need a favor from a fey lord? Give them a few pies and they'll be right as rain.

I liked the lore that the fey is temporally anchored in geography. Like a specific beach will be an eternal sunrise. And another section of the forest will be midnight. Time never changes. The seasons are locations. If you want to go to the summer court, the season of summer is only located in a specific geographical area. Which also makes sense for the two courts since it's more about where they are rather than representing light or darkness.

Been away from D&D for years, but had the Feywild back in 1989. "Travel through the Gates of Dawn and into the Frontier of Twilight", the party was told. Of course Lord Dunsany had Elfland in the 1920s and the Land of Dreams more than a decade earlier; these were the real inspirations. I wove in musical albums like and Close to the Edge, Broadsword and the Beast, and stories like Algernon Blackwood's The Man Who the Trees Loved and Dunsany's A Shop in Go-by Street (another portal). The Dark Elf Lord said to the party at one point, "These silver acorns are tokens, they grant each of you a wish. You must use them for another's benefit, but woe betide that they find out you did so".

They're still around! They "surround and enfold" the other planes, providing life and undeath. Also radiant and necrotic damage. And there's like two sentences about them in the Planes of Existence appendix in the back of the PHB. That's about all we've got. They are on the diagram of the planes in that same section at least. I'd say they probably influence the Feywild (positive) and the Shadowfell (negative) because the Nightwalker in Tome of Foes says that you can travel to the Negative Energy Plane from the Shadowfell in the same way you can travel to the Shadowfell from the Material Plane: in the darkest possible locations.

It's important to remember that light and dark don't equal good and evil. Midnight in winter will kill you with frostbite, but noon in summer will kill you with heatstroke. In both situations, you're equally dead. Instead, the Fey courts are like the seasons: Both have good and bad sides, but ultimately, both don't especially care if you live or die. The main difference between the Fey and the seasons is that *the seasons don't actually take pleasure from your suffering.*

At first we were simply, The Fey. But then light came to the land, and we became the Seelie.
But a faction of us split off and we began to fight. The Seelie kicked out their traitors to the dark side of the Feywild, and one of them shouted, "haha, it's so dark over there you won't be able to see. Seelie? More like UNSeelie." And everyone laughed, and cried, and laughed so hard they cried, and thus the abandoned folk became known as the Unseelie, because of Jimothy, who thought of that wicked burn, and who was made King of the Fey for a while until he said another joke, but this time people didn't like it and so he was hung.

      Me, The DM:
I was so proud of the Necromancer, he gave a diamond, despite group protest (the Fay did save the group from the dire wolf pack he pissed off) ... I rewarded him with a phylactery encrusted with Diamonds at the end of the campaign. It was a new player too.
      The others were rewarded accordingly...
The Rogue got his farewell everytime the group departed an important NPC...
      i.e. Thieves Guild Master:
      "Farewell!"
I had to rub it in. Hey, at least he didn't give the wee fey bastard this phrase: "I give you my thanks" he'd be a very unthankful guy if he did.
Though. I wasn't to harsh, he could still say "goodbye", but his character's catchphrase for escapes was "Farewell" until that fateful level 6 wrong choice. He got a little agitated when I said he could no longer say, "farewell", cause he was confused as to why, but in seconds the look on my face made him laugh so hard in his own self-realization, that I slapped my knee 3 times & screeched cause I was so relieved he understood. My first time as a DM.
I never used that Fey until the equivalent of "D&D post-game cutscenes", it was a Pixie.

So, I ended up making a Fairy Fey Wanderer Ranger who was basically a ronin from the Unseelie Court's Winter Rose (an organization of knights that are seen as assassins by those few who know of them). He was excommunicated for falling in love with someone close to Titania. His lover was slain in punishment, he was forced to watch before getting excommunicated... it's a mess. But my goal with him was to be confused about how mortals work and to have him slowly grow to become a better person as time goes on..though with the singular focus of punishing the Archfey who had a hand in bringing his life to ruin.
