There's something special about so many 1971 albums, and I don't know why (I was seven years old then and got caught by this music in the late Seventies): Fireball by Purple, Meddle by Pink Floyd, Rare Earth live, James Gang live at Carnegie Hall - the list is endless. A creative explosion, still unmatched

One of the most iconic tracks Led Zep ever recorded. No detractor anywhere can accuse them of ripping off anyone with this gem. The riff, the rhythms, the tone of the guitar, any of it. I remember my buddies and me, we'd listen to this track, and also Hats Off To Harper, and wonder what planet this music was coming from? Most of this album was that way. It was rock music, yes, but widely different in approach from any of the other rock out there. It was yet one more indicator that Zep was taking us on a ride to elsewhere.

Do you guys notice how the lead riff and bass seem to be playing the exact same riff that pulls the song forward, then curls around bonzo's crisp riffs? As that is happening, Plant's deft vocals dance between the beats and evades them like a jumprope. It is such a rhythmic and sonic delight, I cannot forget the dance.

*Out On the Tiles ( Lyrics 100% accurate)*
    ----------------
As I walk down the highway, all I do is sing a song
and a train that's passin' my way helps the rhythm move along
There is no doubt about, the words are clear
The voice is strong, it's oh, so strong
Just a simple guy, and live from day to day
A ray of sunshine melts my frown, blows my blues away
There's nothin' more that I can say
but on a day like today, I pass the time away
and walk a quiet mile with you
All I need from you is all your love
All you gotta give to me is all your love
All I need from you is all your love
All you gotta give to me is all your love
Ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah
I'm so glad I'm livin', stop, gonna tell the world I am
I got me a fine woman, and she says that I'm her man
A-one thing that I know for sure
Gonna give her all the lovin' like nobody, nobody
    nobody, nobody can
Stand in the noon-day sun tryin' to flag a ride
People go and people come, see my rider right by my side
It's a total disgrace, they set the pace
    It must be a race
The best thing I can do is run
All I need from you is all your love
All you gotta give to me is all your love
All I need from you is all your love
All you gotta give to me is all your love
Ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah, well, alright
Aw, yeah, aw, yeah, aw, yeah
All that the rhythm said was keep ow-on
All that rhythm said was keep ow-on
Ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah
Ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah
    Ah-hah-hah-hah-hah-hah, yeah, yeah
    Ah-hah-hah-hah-hah-hah-hah, yeah, yeah

I was 9 when I first got this album. All the kids at school made fun of me for my music. "Grandpa Metal" they would call it, allthewhile wearing Tesla or Winger shirts.. .....Fekkin' dorks.
Secretly, they would ask to borrow my tapes, or make them dubs. I'd run in to about half my class some 8 or 9 years later, and they would act as if these bands were the reason they loved music so much. "Poseurs..' I thought to myself. Then I realized I would be no better than they are/we're if I acted this way. As much as I'd like to correct them of such musical misgivings, I decided to let them enjoy the music as it was meant to.
This song in particular was my personal favorite, even sometimes preferring this album (because of this song primarily) over 4 at times. Even now, as I've strayed from Zeppelin quite a bit, I bust this album out to hear this song. It's in my head at least once a week. Such a damn rocker

I’ve lost all my original vinyl copies and those horrible 1st-generation CDs released in 1983 but it’s refreshing to know that Page is continually revisiting the original studio tapes and making remixes suitable for the 2020s. So I’m saving up for those as a present to myself.
