For the record, MOONBYUL just recently WON a SINGING COMPETITION for RAPPERS. The competition ended Yesterday and she's hailed as the CHAMPION. This proves that she's a MAIN VOCALIST worthy too.
The other MUST watch is Mamamoo's "Immortal Songs Medley"! This is a live performance from one of their concerts showcasing a selection of songs they performed on the Immortal Songs show. If I remember correctly Mamamoo was the first K-pop group to be invited to the show and the only K-pop group to have multiple wins.
Im an insomnia, also a moomoo. Before i discovered Dreamcatcher, i stumbled upon Mamamoo. As much as i love DC, MMM is to me the best group in vocals. They have the most stable vocal even during performance (they sing very live, they even rejected the notion of lipsync). They sang live in a 3hour concert never lipsync a second. Fun fact, Moonbyul rap verse is written by Moonbyul herself. Besides Dami, i love Moonbyul's rap the most. Have fun diving into Mamamoo..

I discovered Mamamoo with HIP back in 2019. Then DC with Boca in 2020, so I became a MooMoo before I became and Insomina; through I became a Monbebe before I became a MooMoo. Mamamoo and DC are my vocal queens. Mamamoo have simple choreography and use hand mics as to showcase their vocals. Moonbyul won Second World yesterday! Second World is a competition where Rappers that can also sing competed in showcasing their singing and rapping skills. I watched for Moonbyul and Exy. Their stuff pre Purple had a lot of Jazz and retro; especially Hello, Piano Man and Memory albums. It was something that made them stand out in 2014-2016. The. They stood out again with the 4 colors/4 seasons in 2018-2019. Mamamoo and Dreamcatcher are two groups that sound even better live then they do on track.. especially when you give them a live band.
I’m glad wheein got more and more acknowledged by people.. she is really underrated singer in K-pop.. but once they know they always got shock and compliment her more.. that’s how true talent work..
MAMA MAMA MAMAMOO!!!! Best vocals in KPOP, and the biggest goofballs in the industry. Their concert performance of IMMORTAL SONGS is another masterpiece of theirs, as are their four live performances at Queendom 1; DESTINY, GOOD LUCK, DECALCOMAINE, and the iconic I MISS YOU. Oh yeah, then there's their 2018, 2019, and 2020 MAMA live performances which are legendary in the KPOP industry. As a group their discography has over 300 titles. Their solo works are equally impressive as the group efforts. BTW, Byulie just won the JTBC TV show Second World "singing" competition against 7 other rappers. It was a really cool show and she blew the other competitors, and the judges, away. I'm a huge fan(MooMoo) of Mamaamoo and find myself enjoying your reactions to them a lot. I would appreciate it if you could, if at all possible, keep your reactions free YT. Enjoy your Mamamoo journey, they aren't your typical KPOP gg.
There are a lot of people who have trouble believing that they can be this good live. There is a performance of "No More Drama" (one of my favorite b-sides) where they are sitting around a table and they go out of their way to rattle papers just to prove that yes this is a live recording. I don't think people have brought up Mamamoo TV yet. There are 7 seasons with like a dozen episodes each year. Anyway season 1 episode six is them fooling around with eachother in the car on the way back to Seoul after an appearance and it's awesome. I agree with many other here that Immortal Song Medley, is the next thing you really have to watch.
One of the things we love about Mamamoo is that they always have fun on stage and performing! More than the vocals and everything, it's that they always enjoy themselves together on stage. Mamamoo's the best!

Omg! Immortal songs medley is a MUST after this! It's them performing old legendary songs with their own spice to it, their stage presence, singing their hearts out live after a 4hour concert will amaze you! And in there you will truly see all four of them slay!

1. Hwasa had a cold that day, and she was performing at about 80%. Seriously. 2. For the first few years Moonbyul WAS in awe of (even intimidated by) the other 3's singing. She's much more confident now. 3. The only non-title track was "I Miss You". Probably MooMoo's favourite B-side.
so glad you finally get to experience a live mamamoo performance. the thing about mamamoo is, no matter how good one of their recordings is, their live performance will always be better. our mere human technology is not advanced enough to digitize perfection like that. truly, god herself couldn't properly capture their voices on a recording, so she gifted the world live mamamoo vocals so everyone who listens can experience heaven at least once in their existence. lmao seriously though, watching that video made me go from casual fan to #1 moomoo forever immediately.

I'm here for 1. the wheein vocal appreciation 2. the decalcomanie appreciation 3. the moonbyul/wheein harmony appreciation. Anyways, live performances, you should watch their Immortal Songs Medley. Also any of their queendom stages (assuming you aren't going to be reacting to the show(?)). A lot of their best live performances are of songs (I don't think) you've heard yet, so don't want to spoil anything. There's a bunch of concert stages of some b-sides that are really good; My Star & Paint Me specifically come to mind. Maybe listen to the songs on stream then the concert versions. Also, you're observing Oneus, Onewe, & Purple Kiss' older sister group, like... idk what else is expected. They're the RBW OGs. Also, RBW got them together bc RBW was pretty much the last resort for most/all of them, Ms. Solar "I got rejected 50 times from other companies." Also if you're blown away by Mamamoo, which lbr everyone is, I'd recommend at some point checking out a soloist named Ailee, if you haven't already. Mamamoo used to get called "4 Ailees" early in their career if that's any indication of how good she is. She also used to be label mates with Wheein at TheL1ve.

Oh yeah, mamamoo is always, always better live. They're just crazy like that (though there was some processing going on before this video was uploaded, they still sounded beyond amazing before that) Many others are suggesting the immortal somgs medley, which really does show what they're like onstage. It's an 11 minute long performance they did near the end of a 3 hour long concert (their concerts get longer each time they do one. Many are 4+ hours long, the last one before covid broke the 5 hour mark) Immortal songs is a singing competiton show where all the performers do their renditions of 'immortal' songs, mostly stuff beloved in south korea. So they're all covers but changed to match the artists doing the covers. And mamamoo made the show their second home, despite idols not being invited much (that has changed recently and some don't like the show as much anymore)

That first song is their debut song, Mr. Ambiguous. The producers actually put a light auto-tune on this but it made it sound worse; Hwasa's voice is raspier than we can hear here and the auto-tune is struggling to level her out so we don't even get full Hwasa effect. Decalcomanie is their breakout song that got them invited to perform at award shows and was really popular with everyone even other idols, but it's barely ever covered by any groups because it's too difficult to sing. In technical skill Wheein might be the best singer in kpop, definitely in the Top 5 with Solar.

Mamamoo is the reason there was a "killing voice", they were the first. And it's one of the reasons for being so short. Before them was The "Killing Verse" and had only rappers. Specifically "The Killing Voice" exists because of the solar. Solar (with mamamoo) wanted to join 'Killing Verse', but was not accepted. Then Dingo Music created 'Killing Voice' and called Mamamoo. Their video currently has the largest number of views of Killing Voice ... We need a second. This is a good example of why Mamamoo has been Kpop's female vocal gold standard for the past 10 years and is just the tip of the MMM's iceberg, just a few of its favorite hits and b-sides between 2014 and 2020, when video It was filmed. They released hundreds of songs, several dozens of group albums, solo and subunit, and there are hundreds of incredible live performances available on YT.👏👏
Mamamoo immortal songs medley is iconic too. Also for a solo i hope you guys check out Moonbyul Refuge live stage on second world. It was a show where the rappers show their vocal abilitys. The final episode was yesterday and Moonbyul won 🙏 All of the performances are amazing but refuge?? IT'S GONNA BE ICONIC FOREVER
You will get a lot of recs for Immortal Songs, but it does not feature Moonbyul as much, which is a shame because the woman just won a freaking singing contest called Second World today! If you wanna see Moonbyul absolutely slay vocally, watch her performance of “Congratulations” and “Refuge.” No other rapper can sing like her.

They are goddesses, trust. They were on Immortal Songs, and they started their careers singing vocally challenging songs by some of South Korea’s vocal legends. For me, that was a great training ground for them to find their sound and refine their skills. It’s a joy to watch them. 😭😍
As a proud moomoo since UOAY, it feels soooo refreshing to see people reacting to Mamamoo's talent like this. Specially when you are already somewhat used to K-pop in general, I really like other groups as well, but Mamamoo is definitely different. I think the way you guys reacted after their first line was very similar to how I felt when I heard of them back in the day and most people didn't really know them that well. Believe and listen to MMM is a real thing! Also... and so Wheein's Bias Wrecking begins, I see... haha
I held my breath every time they start singing and you guys just saved my life like 20 times because you are hyperventilating just as hard pausing every 5 seconds or so.

OMG! but wait a second... did you read those lyrics? not only in a variety of concepts and genres but the messages of MAMAMOO's songs have such strong messages, so authentic... and especially in ballads, comforting. I couldn't get tired of listening to those voices... if one day I stop listening to KPOP; I would never leave DC or MAMAMOO behind.

HOW great is Mamamoo? UNBELIEVABLY talented and tight. Each of them both individually and together are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Wait until you see them in live concerts. Here they are just standing in front of live mics,... and they are KILLING IT!!! Moonbyul is incredible! She has done solo MVs where you really get to hear her singing voice. Early on Hwasa was sent home from auditions for being "too fat" and not fitting ideal standards. A producer told her she was too ugly for the stage. Possibly one of the hottest females on earth has a body to die for,.. which she proudly flaunts in their videos. Women come in different sizes and shapes. She publically announced, "if I don't fit your ideal standards,.... it's time to change your standards." Before they had representation they used to show up outside of big theaters and perform in the streets (there is footage of them doing it). They caused quite the uproar with exactly THIS type of performance live in front of the theater. They are also known for being out of control chaotic on comedy variety shows. Every appearance goes off the rails with these girls in the room. They just get wild.

To answer you first question: Yes, this is live. Killing Voice put a little bit of autotune over it (as we know now), but it sound almost the same, except for Hwasa. She was sick when they recorded this and sounded a little bit more nasal. There is an original recording out there with poor picture quality which was rediscovered this year without autotune, so... be my guest. Like many Moomoos before I would recommend Immortal Songs Medley. It's part of a four hour long concert, which makes it even morre impressive. Immortal Songs 2 is a show were INVITED artist perform their interpretation of old korean hits. Sometimes they invite kpop idols, but in most cases not as a whole group. When MMM was invited for the first time in 2015 the were almost unknown in Korea and shocked the other artists with their performance. IM 2 is what made Mamamoo known as vocal queens in Korea. The medley contains some of their 13 performances, so watching the performances itself is great, too. Especially since most of them are from 2015 or 2016 - so Baby-Mamamoo ;-) And since you liked their energy when you watched the guide: MMMTV is hours after hours of Mamamoo content that shows their crazyness. Their show on Idol Radio is epic (there is a full version out their, but the 20 minute cut is good, too). And to top that watch their diss songs. 1cm is them dissing themself because of their height (mostly Wheepup), which is funny cause they are all tiny. And while making the MV for 1cm Solar and Wheein got bored and "created" Sleeping in the car". Watch the MVs, but for 1cm watch live performances, too. Not live in music shows, but live on stage in concert. No spoilers here, but... it's a must see. Edit: I almost forgot: Tipsy live ... have fun
They are also the queen of ad-libs especially on their live stages. There was one song from a number of years ago, in the song there is a part that has an original part in the recording, but on the live stage (every stage), they slightly change it up everytime and its the best thing ever
When it comes to how good Hwasa sounded on the Wind Flower Pre-chorus, she was unwell on the day of recording so they had an effect on the mics to help her out, she still manages to do amazingly without effects but this is the one case where she felt she may have needed it.

They actually have a daesang called LIVE PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR. Juniors, senior, legends and fans around the world have a big respect for Mamamoo’s live performance
Craziest thing here is that Hwasa was straight up *sick* during this filming and still performed at that level. You can hear it in her unintentional voice crackle during I Miss You. These ladies are unreal.
By the way, each one of these songs is a HUGE massive hit overseas. These definitely are some of their greatest hits. I think there are MVs for most if not all of them. They have been together for many years and they do have goofy energy together. There is some outright like physical wrestling going on with them too. They are the best of friends I think. And they are VOCAL QUEENS!!!
Solar has a HUGE catalogue of videos on her Yt channel so it’ll take forever to go through it all. I discovered Mamamoo with HIP back in 2019. Then DC with Boca in 2020, so I became a MooMoo before I became and Insomina; through I became a Monbebe before I became a MooMoo. Mamamoo and DC are my vocal queens. Mamamoo have simple choreography and use hand mics as to showcase their vocals. Moonbyul won Second World yesterday! Second World is a competition where Rappers that can also sing competed in showcasing their singing and rapping skills. I watched for Moonbyul and Exy.
Their stuff pre Purple had a lot of Jazz and retro; especially Hello, Piano Man and Memory albums. It was something that made them stand out in 2014-2016. The. They stood out again with the 4 colors/4 seasons in 2018-2019. Mamamoo and Dreamcatcher are two groups that sound even better live then they do on track.. especially when you give them a live band.
I’m glad wheein got more and more acknowledged by people.. she is really underrated singer in K-pop.. but once they know they always got shock and compliment her more.. that’s how true talent work..
Mamamoo raised the K-pop standard for me so high that it’s hard to fall for another group the same way.
MAMA MAMA MAMAMOO!!!! Best vocals in KPOP, and the biggest goofballs in the industry. Their concert performance of IMMORTAL SONGS is another masterpiece of theirs, as are their four live performances at Queendom 1; DESTINY, GOOD LUCK, DECALCOMAINE, and the iconic I MISS YOU. Oh yeah, then there's their 2018, 2019, and 2020 MAMA live performances which are legendary in the KPOP industry. As a group their discography has over 300 titles. Their solo works are equally impressive as the group efforts. BTW, Byulie just won the JTBC TV show Second World "singing" competition against 7 other rappers. It was a really cool show and she blew the other competitors, and the judges, away. I'm a huge fan(MooMoo) of Mamaamoo and find myself enjoying your reactions to them a lot. I would appreciate it if you could, if at all possible, keep your reactions free YT. Enjoy your Mamamoo journey, they aren't your typical KPOP gg.

There are a lot of people who have trouble believing that they can be this good live. There is a performance of "No More Drama" (one of my favorite b-sides) where they are sitting around a table and they go out of their way to rattle papers just to prove that yes this is a live recording.
I don't think people have brought up Mamamoo TV yet. There are 7 seasons with like a dozen episodes each year. Anyway season 1 episode six is them fooling around with eachother in the car on the way back to Seoul after an appearance and it's awesome.
I agree with many other here that Immortal Song Medley, is the next thing you really have to watch.

Yes, they're known as The Vocal Queens of Kpop for a legit reason. And they do vast genres of music to bless all ears.
1. Hwasa had a cold that day, and she was performing at about 80%. Seriously.
2. For the first few years Moonbyul WAS in awe of (even intimidated by) the other 3's singing. She's much more confident now.
3. The only non-title track was "I Miss You". Probably MooMoo's favourite B-side.

Anyways, live performances, you should watch their Immortal Songs Medley. Also any of their queendom stages (assuming you aren't going to be reacting to the show(?)). A lot of their best live performances are of songs (I don't think) you've heard yet, so don't want to spoil anything. There's a bunch of concert stages of some b-sides that are really good; My Star & Paint Me specifically come to mind. Maybe listen to the songs on stream then the concert versions.
Also, you're observing Oneus, Onewe, & Purple Kiss' older sister group, like... idk what else is expected. They're the RBW OGs. Also, RBW got them together bc RBW was pretty much the last resort for most/all of them, Ms. Solar "I got rejected 50 times from other companies." Also if you're blown away by Mamamoo, which lbr everyone is, I'd recommend at some point checking out a soloist named Ailee, if you haven't already. Mamamoo used to get called "4 Ailees" early in their career if that's any indication of how good she is. She also used to be label mates with Wheein at TheL1ve.

Many others are suggesting the immortal somgs medley, which really does show what they're like onstage. It's an 11 minute long performance they did near the end of a 3 hour long concert (their concerts get longer each time they do one. Many are 4+ hours long, the last one before covid broke the 5 hour mark)
Immortal songs is a singing competiton show where all the performers do their renditions of 'immortal' songs, mostly stuff beloved in south korea. So they're all covers but changed to match the artists doing the covers. And mamamoo made the show their second home, despite idols not being invited much (that has changed recently and some don't like the show as much anymore)

That first song is their debut song, Mr. Ambiguous. The producers actually put a light auto-tune on this but it made it sound worse; Hwasa's voice is raspier than we can hear here and the auto-tune is struggling to level her out so we don't even get full Hwasa effect. Decalcomanie is their breakout song that got them invited to perform at award shows and was really popular with everyone even other idols, but it's barely ever covered by any groups because it's too difficult to sing. In technical skill Wheein might be the best singer in kpop, definitely in the Top 5 with Solar.

Mamamoo is the reason there was a "killing voice", they were the first. And it's one of the reasons for being so short. Before them was The "Killing Verse" and had only rappers. Specifically "The Killing Voice" exists because of the solar. Solar (with mamamoo) wanted to join 'Killing Verse', but was not accepted. Then Dingo Music created 'Killing Voice' and called Mamamoo. Their video currently has the largest number of views of Killing Voice ... We need a second. This is a good example of why Mamamoo has been Kpop's female vocal gold standard for the past 10 years and is just the tip of the MMM's iceberg, just a few of its favorite hits and b-sides between 2014 and 2020, when video It was filmed. They released hundreds of songs, several dozens of group albums, solo and subunit, and there are hundreds of incredible live performances available on YT.👏👏

As a proud moomoo since UOAY, it feels soooo refreshing to see people reacting to Mamamoo's talent like this. Specially when you are already somewhat used to K-pop in general, I really like other groups as well, but Mamamoo is definitely different. I think the way you guys reacted after their first line was very similar to how I felt when I heard of them back in the day and most people didn't really know them that well. OMG! but wait a second... did you read those lyrics? not only in a variety of concepts and genres but the messages of MAMAMOO's songs have such strong messages, so authentic... and especially in ballads, comforting. I couldn't get tired of listening to those voices... if one day I stop listening to KPOP; I would never leave DC or MAMAMOO behind.

HOW great is Mamamoo? UNBELIEVABLY talented and tight. Each of them both individually and together are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Wait until you see them in live concerts. Here they are just standing in front of live mics,... and they are KILLING IT!!! Moonbyul is incredible! She has done solo MVs where you really get to hear her singing voice. Early on Hwasa was sent home from auditions for being "too fat" and not fitting ideal standards. A producer told her she was too ugly for the stage. Possibly one of the hottest females on earth has a body to die for,.. which she proudly flaunts in their videos. Women come in different sizes and shapes. She publically announced, "if I don't fit your ideal standards,.... it's time to change your standards." Before they had representation they used to show up outside of big theaters and perform in the streets (there is footage of them doing it). They caused quite the uproar with exactly THIS type of performance live in front of the theater. They are also known for being out of control chaotic on comedy variety shows. Every appearance goes off the rails with these girls in the room. They just get wild.

To answer you first question: Yes, this is live.
Killing Voice put a little bit of autotune over it (as we know now), but it sound almost the same, except for Hwasa. She was sick when they recorded this and sounded a little bit more nasal.
There is an original recording out there with poor picture quality which was rediscovered this year without autotune, so... be my guest.
Like many Moomoos before I would recommend Immortal Songs Medley. It's part of a four hour long concert, which makes it even morre impressive.
Immortal Songs 2 is a show were INVITED artist perform their interpretation of old korean hits. Sometimes they invite kpop idols, but in most cases not as a whole group. When MMM was invited for the first time in 2015 the were almost unknown in Korea and shocked the other artists with their performance. IM 2 is what made Mamamoo known as vocal queens in Korea.
The medley contains some of their 13 performances, so watching the performances itself is great, too. Especially since most of them are from 2015 or 2016 - so Baby-Mamamoo ;-)
And since you liked their energy when you watched the guide: MMMTV is hours after hours of Mamamoo content that shows their crazyness.
Their show on Idol Radio is epic (there is a full version out their, but the 20 minute cut is good, too).
And to top that watch their diss songs. 1cm is them dissing themself because of their height (mostly Wheepup), which is funny cause they are all tiny.
And while making the MV for 1cm Solar and Wheein got bored and "created" Sleeping in the car".
Watch the MVs, but for 1cm watch live performances, too. Not live in music shows, but live on stage in concert. No spoilers here, but... it's a must see.

They are also the queen of ad-libs especially on their live stages. There was one song from a number of years ago, in the song there is a part that has an original part in the recording, but on the live stage (every stage), they slightly change it up everytime and its the best thing ever

When it comes to how good Hwasa sounded on the Wind Flower Pre-chorus, she was unwell on the day of recording so they had an effect on the mics to help her out, she still manages to do amazingly without effects but this is the one case where she felt she may have needed it.

By the way, each one of these songs is a HUGE massive hit overseas. These definitely are some of their greatest hits. I think there are MVs for most if not all of them. They have been together for many years and they do have goofy energy together. There is some outright like physical wrestling going on with them too. They are the best of friends I think.
