MAMAMOO actually record their songs fast because they're already good singers. Like most of the time they enter the studio then finished recording less than an hour. That's how good they are vocally. Their producers doesn't have any complaints at all. They just sit there and watch mamamoo slays and do the job.

For pure brilliance, check out their live "4Seasons" concert . 4 hours long and they do 2 group sessions at the start and end but each member also does a solo 20-30minute set!!

The girl in the left is Moonbyul. She's not only a rapper.

Mamamoos are different from other groups, music genres, personality .but they are real artists, composing their own songs and choreography they is a true talent.
They are all rounder, besides generally considered to be the best female vocal group of their generation they're also known for their versatility. People say Mamamoo can sing anything and write a song about anything.
They've been doing more solo work since 2018 and became the first kpop group to have all members chart on Billboard as solo artists while the group is still active
Moonbyul (the rapper) trained to be a volcalist actually but was forced to be a rapper in order to debut. She always been longing to sing and has won 1st place in the survey show "second world" by JTBC recently which is a show where she can show the real her instead of a girl group rapper, that is a show designed to showcase the singing ability of rappers.

Yes. You remembered right, they are the the VOCAL QUEENS. so much so, that many Koreans actually consider them artists and not idols. Because their vocal talent is so incredible and they don’t use things like choreography and visuals to sell their songs. Their voices do that all on their own, the rest is just the cherry on top.
I’m sure we don’t need to tell you to react to every one of those songs, they are all absolutely amazing. But even having said that, there are so many b-sides that I think even top these. I really hope you watch a guide for them because they are all so amazing as individuals, too. They really stand for what they believe in and they are such amazing role models. The Purple Hawke guide Introducing Mamamoo is the best guide. I’m sure others have already mentioned it in the comments. And it’s not just a good source to get to know Mamamoo, the editing and the narration is incredible. Like when I say it looks like a professional documentary you’d see on like MTV I’m not even joking. If you want to react to them I would recommend doing it earlier on because I feel like knowing them members on a more personal level really helps you appreciate their music even more. Cause you can see how genuine and passionate they really are. Trust me, if you’re not already in love with them now, you will be after the guides.

Fun fact: Moonbyul the rapper is friends with Jin. They have a group chat with the 92liners in Kpop. She is also the most credited female artist in kpop
My favorite female K-pop group their vocals are so good live especially. Moonbyul the rapper has been friends with Jin for years (they have a group chat for a few days sold idols born in 92’ and Jin is the most active texting she says. Jungkook has the same with a handful of the 97’ liner idols he hangs out with. In Korea age is such a big hierarchy thing is having friends your own age is common.
Upon hearing a couple of their songs, I downloaded them before I knew much about Mamamoo. After watching the "Killing Voice" video for the first time, I became a huge fan. Great job!
MMM are fabulous! All of them have solo work that is top tier. But together they are goddess tier. They’re a close knit group who enjoy being together & it shows. They co-write a lot of their music as well. They’re beyond girl group status & on a level of their own.
Their discography and their solo work are really good, be prepare to discover hidden gems 😁

Definitely should react to "I miss you" live performance on Mnet K-pop (all wearing brown) or their Immortal Song Medley (Korean show that honors older singers by reimagining their songs). Mamamoo is famous for singing live and rarely trying to lip sync (they were not very good at it and gave up). Also they are very fun people, and I'd recommend just watching some of their funny compilations on your off-time for your own enjoyment. Thank you for reacting to these amazing women!

I scrolled a little bit but did not see a certain comment so I will do this:
Far Left: Moon Byul-yi, called Moonbyul or sometimes MoonStar because Byul translates to Star; Rapper and Performer (really just means she is specialized in Dance). 'The Nation's Girl Crush'. She writes all of her own rap lyrics in all of the group's original songs (making her at least 'near' the top of the list for prolific female Writers/ Rappers/ Vocalists in all of K-Pop). She has been practicing on her vocals as well, so now she can keep up with these other three ladies on the World-Class level. She very recently won a Vocal Competition against other K-Pop Idols and Soloists where she even surprised herself. She's also very likable and she seems to make new friends effortlessly.
Second-from-Left: Kim Yong-sun, called Solar; Leader (and oldest member) of the group and of course their Big Belter. Also 'The Muscle', because she really started to focus on her health and fitness after discovering a certain activity that she found to be fun for her, while filming one of their MVs. I won't ruin the surprise except to say it is STRAIGHT FIRE. She's 'Crackhead Number One' in the group and has even called herself crazy at least once. She is hard-headed and impossible to stop once she gets an idea she wants to try.
Second-from-Right: Jung Whee-in, called Wheein; Vocalist and Performer, picks up choreography even faster than Moonbyul, 'The Genius' of the group. She is MADE OF ART. She sings in many different genres, she dances in many different genres, she draws, she paints, she learned how to play Drums in under a month for a stage performance. In an athletic setting, she was at least the first K-Pop Idol (guys or girls) to ever score three bulls-eyes in an Archery competition (she may not be the ONLY one now but she was still first). This woman can do it all and more. Also, 'Crackhead Number Two'. Has known Hwasa since they were both in Middle School together, best friends who even have matching tattoos with each other. They can match harmonies so effortlessly because they have known each other for so long.
Far Right: Ahn Hye-jin, called Hwasa; Vocalist of the Group and It-Girl of Korea, 'The Queen of Queens'. She's the youngest member of the group and the one hated on the most by internet trolls (ESPECIALLY the Korean trolls, because 'she does not look like an Idol should look', with their stupid Korean Beauty Standard). What Korea does not realize is that we Westerners see her as an Exotic Beauty. She has BIG personality, VERY charismatic and she tries hard at anything she wants to do. She's very much her own person and we would not have it any other way. MASSIVE Stage Presence. A real sweetheart, she feels very deeply and does not try to hide emotions (unless the performance requires it) who would literally give somebody the shirt off her back if they asked.
PLEASE, check out Purple Hawke's two videos on these ladies, 'Introducing Mamamoo Part One' and 'Introducing Mamamoo Part Two'. Not too many spoilers but good info, even if it is a little bit outdated by now. Part One will tell you a little bit about Solar and Moonbyul. Part Two will tell a little bout Wheein and Hwasa. It's actually a really fun and great way to learn to put names to faces and I can almost guarantee that you will never forget who-is-who after watching those two videos. :)

The video includes reactions by the other competitors during the song but don't let that bother you - this is a spectacular performance crafted just for the occasion, which is the kind of thing Mamamoo does regularly for their concerts and at award shows and other special events. In this "Fan-dora's Box" round of Queendom the competitors were tasked with doing a song suggested by their fans. MMM took the spirit of the fan round to heart by re-arranging I Miss You as a love song to their fans. Moonbyul re-wrote her rap verse as a message to moomoos (MMM fans) and during the song they inserted a video of clips ranging from their trainee days to shout-outs to moomoos when they won awards or scored wins on tv music shows. You'll hear them yelling "Moomoo-den!!" repeatedly.
Simply the BEST women kpop group. All of them are at the top of their game and all of them bring equal amounts to the group. Stunning vocals.

I watched this last year but still never get fed up watching it. They are so freaking good.
They are the VOCAL QUEENS OF KPOP. South Korea also called them as BELISMAMOO that means BELIEVE AND LISTEN TO MAMAMOO as they always serve live vocals and oustanding performances. It helps that they always have fun when they perform so that makes it easy for people to enjoy their performances.
I love Mamamoo, for me they are THE only girl kpop group I like they stand out so far apart than any of the girl groups, the order of the girls are Moonbyul rapper, Wheein, Solar, and the sexy Hwasa I unfortunately discovered them when they had gone solo, Hwasa was the 1st one who I loved, but now watching the entire group, it’s so hard to say, all of them are fantastic, Hwasa has a solo song called Maria that is great, I spend all my time on BTS for the most part, but do find other groups who I love their music, but don’t get into music video’s and all that like BTS, there is just so much content for BTS I don’t have time, that is why I said I had no problem with you doing other groups on Patreon as well as BTS, this is where I get to see fun video’s like this one that otherwise I wouldn’t have seen on my own most likely.

All of them are very competent in singing, rap and dance in varying degrees, styles and genres. (They fit like a puzzle imo)
Wheein(girl with a fringe) is the only one who haven't rapped officially.
Fun fact: her voice is errily similar to MoonByul (sweater vest) when pitched down.
Official Vocal line is Solar (powerful and round,if you get what I mean), Wheein(cool and airy), and Hwasa (raspy and sultry).
Official Rap line is Moonbyul(thin but warm voice) and Hwasa(white top).
Hwasa don't rap much these days though (her style is more in your face compared to Byul who tends to be melodic).
Mamamoo has often been dubbed by Moomoos(fandom) as Comedians who can sing (or sings as a side job).

I think you need to watch mamamoo immortal song medley, because solar belts most of her parts in their songs, its eaiser for her to stick in out in small section of a song, but if you watch the medley, you will realize they all belt so well and just so well rounded.
A very underrated girl group which could really shine globally. They are suppose to perform at Coachella 2020 but due to covid everything was on hold. It did messed with their mental health too. Their official channel would not disappoint you that I can assure you. As for the vocalist that you're impressed with, that's the leader of the group Solar, so as a leader its usually the eldest in the group. Moonbyul would be the rapper. Whee In is the 3rd one from the left and the most right one is Hwasa, the youngest and most provocative one. I really do hope that they will excel in their music career as This group was the top pick of Quincy Jones out of the 3 that perform at a private event when Quincy was in Korea. Hope that you'll be amazed and be a MooMoo (MAMAMOO's fan base name) yourself!
Also, if it wasn't for Quincy Jones rejecting their CEO's song titled Mamamoo we would probably never have Mr Ambiguous or the group name Mamamoo.

You finally found them!!! They are, for me, the best kpop girl group in terms of vocal talent and pure musicality. Their songs and and their style (especially their earlier work) are quite accessible for the western-music-oriented listener, which I am (I'm Asian though). Kpop mostly surprised my listening brain the first time I seriously tried to listen to it because of its different structure, mostly it's the fact that each song seems to try to fit in a dancing part, a rap part, a bit of a vocal display with whatever is trendy at the moment (hiphop, r&b, edm, retro, whatever) and if not done with skill, it kinda sounds like a hodge-podge of stuff. But Mamamoo tries to retain musicality or at least what would make sense from time-tested musical practice. You can't go wrong with good vocals, good rap lyrics and delivery, good melodies and a proper beat to match. I hope you react to more of Mamamoo especially the live performances, talk about on a different level. :)
While they are not the biggest, they are by far the best active group right now, vocals and stage presence.
They are very sincere, the way they get along with each other is very similar to BTS, I also like them very much, they are different from the average Korean girl group, they are really good, thank you for your reaction to them, their solo album, single They are all great too!! (This is in translation, I hope you can understand:) ) Also, I want to say that JIN is also my favorite, I hope you can appreciate his performance at the Coldplay concert, really very good!!

Solar has the biggest technical range. WheeIn has such strong softness in her voice it's insane. Hwasa brings that deep basey rawness and Moonbyul is always delivering the solid undertone. If Moonbyul is your fourth best singer, you know this group is insane lmao. Crazy stuff.

The west doesn't know how great they are because of the language barrier. They are becoming more popular now with RUclips showcasing them. As you saw, language wasn't a problem for you watching them. There is actually enough context there for you to get what is going on. And those vocals are TO DIE FOR.

The gold standard is Purple Hawke's two part Introducing Mamamoo. Two members per part.
There's also a more recent two parter by Moo YT called The Mamamoo Introduction Guide of 2022 that's also excellent and of course more up to date. The first part covers the members and the 2nd the group. Moo YT credits Purple Hawke and part 1 follows the same format and style as PH's guide to the members. You get different clips in each guide so I recommend watching both - they're both extremely well edited, informative and highly entertaining. 😂

John, your reaction video was my first time watching Mamamoo also; then some of the comments below suggested watching "I Miss You" live performance at a competition. 🤯🤯 Definitely watch it! I absolutely loved it: No provocative dancing and skimpy outfits, no distractions, just pure talent shining through. Definitely far beyond what I've seen from kpop girl groups so far. I'm surprised they're not known more widely. So impressive!
They truly are the best in the industry and I wish they'd get more recognition globally, cuz they clearly deserve it.
Also Hwasa, the one on the far right in the grey sweats and crop top was actually sick during filming which is why her voice sounds more nasal and restrained than usual and she isn't exuding the usual charisma and energy she usually does during performances or when she's messing around with her friends.
Wasn't expecting the cutest Mamamoo reaction I have ever seen from a metal vocalist 😭😭😭 This reaction comes across as very sincere, your eyes were really shinning in "I miss you" 😂 (really recommend the Queendom performance of that song). Also thank you for the appreaciation for my girl Moonbyul there (the rapper in the grey-pink vest)! I think you will like Moonbyul's solo called "Eclipse" 👀

Third and final comment. Before you move on to the songs in the Killing Voice medley I recommend watching another live sampler called Immortal Songs Medley, which was filmed at a MMM concert in 2017. It's an 11 minute must see jaw dropper with a live band that includes some of the covers they performed on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2.
Yeah , group of four vocal and some how fit perfectly together. My favorite kpop group with out doubt. Also they are very very goofy and friendly, their live just amazing
These ladies are HUGE stars overseas. They are THE vocal queens, if you didn't get that. This is a group that formed itself and showed up outside theaters to do live street performances to instant throngs of fans. They finally got signed with a company and some money behind them. Made a lot of outstanding music videos. Some of the most mind blowing live stage performances EVER seen. Their appearances on comedy variety TV shows is chaotic beyond belief. The overall attitude is one of "we do what we like in any given moment." All have solo music that would also blow your mind. Watch "Immortal Songs Medley" is a must see. And Delilah live, but stay all the way to the end,.. theres a big finish.
