OMG, this thing is so nostalgic to me! It was my mom's first iPhone, and holy crap did it go through quite a bit! She set it on the roof of her car one day, we drove off, and ... thump! What was that?! It just went flying! It was also only in one of those cheap Apple silicon cases they made for the 5C, so like no protection at all. However, the phone was totally fine aside from a couple corner scuffs to the body and tears in the case. Later that year, a bird got in through the window and she had it charging by the sink, (full of water at the time), which she was by and knocked in, chasing the bird. That thing sat charging in water for some 10-15 minutes at least, came out just fine, unlike her old Droid 3 that barely got water splashed on it on vacation and was wonky ever since. I just remember thinking wow, how can a little plastic phone be so tough? I had the 5S at the time, and my dad the 5. The 5 crapped out on Dad within two years, even with battery replacement, and the TouchID on my 5S also stopped working after it went to my dad, so honestly the little 5C ended up the best of all of them!
i got the green one when i was 14, looking back it seems a bit silly that apple released the beautiful iphone 5 with a plastic back, but it worked well at the time. im 22 now with the galaxy s22.

If you find a refurbished one they run for about $300-$400, but you could probably find a brand new in-box one for the same price.
The iPhone 5c was the VERY FIRST iPhone I ever had and I loved it soooo much it’s crazy just seeing it come out the box again, lowkey brought back some memories (fun fact: my iPhone 5c was also green)
I just turned on my 5c after years to see how it works today. Actually still pretty snappy on iOS 10. Only thing is app support is gone for RUclips, Messenger, Facebook, and the old apps don't work anymore. Oddly enough RUclips Music still works just fine, but the main RUclips app doesn't at all. Still works as an iPod, and I've got some old games on there that aren't on the app store anymore.
I remember apple had that exact phone on their website for “free” but was actually $100 in taxes and fees. That was back in 2015. Got one and worked great for a few years but the 8 gb was painful
I bought a iPhone 5c when it was new back in 2013, and it was a very very great iPhone, and the reason why I do not have the iPhone 5c anymore, because it goes up to 32gb and not any higher at all.
My 75 year old dad was still using a 5c up until last year when I finally convinced him to upgrade. Definitely was the strangest iPhone but the thing worked.
I bought a new 128gb SE from a very similar seller The box was clearly not the original as you mentioned but the phone is legit and I’m still using it to this day :)
I absolutely loved the 5C! This thing was a BEAST with its plastic back cover! I´ve beaten the hell out it - only having a screenprotector on it, it was the last phone to go without a case. Cant remeber how many times i popped the Screen back into the plastic "shell" hahaha I switched to the SE for the new camera features like SLOMO - loved that thing too! Still today i sometimes grab the 5C and admire it a bit (always brings out a smile ;)) Imagine something like a 14C MINI - this would be, at least for me, the absolute best phone to get!
99% of all “new” SEs being sold on eBay are refurbs or cleaned up older phones. Never trust the sellers especially if they have numerous SEs in stock. If you do get an SE and wish for it to be new, check the ports for any lint, dirt, dust or grime. If the housing is pristine and the ports are pristine & you can run the serial number though a decoder and compare with the correct firmware on release, you can determine if your phone is new or used.
11:08 this happens with my iphone 3gs, the lockscreen is unresponsive after turning on the phone and you have to wait like ten seconds for it to start working again.
I remember when the 5C was released. It was pretty much a iPhone 5 with a colored plastic back. Back in the day, when a new iPhone came out, the previous iphone model will be on plan for cheap. Like when the iPhone 5 came out, it was $199 on contract, but you could also get the iPhone 4S for $99 on contract.
11:25 that bug is a bug i remember on my old iPhone i had that issue the only fix was to turn it off & back on by just hitting the side power button haha :D
My first iPhone and it made me so happy! I used it until 2019. I turned it on recently and it still worked fine, with Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo Mail being quite fast and smooth

I’ve had almost all generations of iphone and iPhone 5 S was very special to me and I like the looks of it even today, now my iPhone 13 Pro Max makes it a dwarf but a cool one.
My introduction into the iPhone world 💙 Blue back. From that to a 6s, 11 Pro, and now a 13 Pro (used Android for 5 years but since going iPhone I haven’t looked back, fits my needs too well and reliably)
I have an Iphone 5c in white and mine is running iOS 10.3.3 but my dad he got it in 2011 or 2012 when it basically first came out. Mine is working Perfectly with no issues so yeah.
I actually loved the design on this even if people thought it looked cheap, I remember being irritated that it looked nicer than the 5S. Also love the iPhone 5 nostalgia this gave me.
Thank you for unboxing the SE before the 5C! Most other RUclipsrs would unbox the one that is obviously a scam to see if it really is a scam either after the phone they mentioned in the title, or in a whole other video. It's always about views with these guys and I'm glad that you unboxed the SE first so I'm not left wondering or annoyed while going to a different video of yours to see if the SE really was new or not.
I love the 5c even though youtube app doesn't work on it anymore, it's still a good music player. I still have mine and the home button stopped functioning :
I got this exact iPhone 5c (the same color and same storage) for just $171 on an eBay action back in June 2015, plus another $50 to unlock it… I only used it for a few months… but still brings me a lot of memories.
iPhone 5c was such a beautiful phone it was the most comfy iPhone to hold made to this date I wish they would make another one but I guess that’s what the “SE” is for now
5c amazed me with what apple's soc is capable of when i was still android fanboi, testing out the 5c at a mall playing real racing 3 i think, it's smooth gameplay amazed me
Seen that issue where iOS 8 devices become painfully slow and unresponsive before on the 5C, 5S and 6. They were all on earlier versions of iOS 8 (pre 8.3) not exactly sure what caused it, but restarting it and turning on airplane mode seems to be a fix.
I still have my iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1.1 works like a charm but sadly the apps crash, such a wonderful phone many great memories with it the iPhone I’ve had
I just bought an iPhone se exactly like the one in the video for less than $50 and it’s 64gb in almost perfect condition, all I had to do was replace the battery.
11:09 It’s possible the battery is a little bloated after all this time and is pushing on the display or something. I have a 2017 iPad Pro and it has the same thing, because it had been sitting in its box for roughly 3 years probably before it was opened. But that’s also not that long of time for that to happen, I guess. Could just be a defect, we’re both unlucky lol
By the end of 2013, I was STILL stuck with a 3GS so I couldn't use iOS 7! I did go to an EE store, I did consider an iPhone 5C but that was still out of my price range! Luckily they had a lot of iPhone 5 handsets in the back room that they were trying to get rid of, all black, all 32GB, all discounted, so I bought one! The clerk even told me the 5 is better than the 5C!
I always wanted an IPhone 5C when it first came out although obviously I went with the 5S instead at the time. I recently acquired a used 5C and it’s a really cool small iPhone. It’s painfully slow nowadays, I wish we can roll back the iOS version to at least iOS 9.
this was a cool video also love your humor lol i really appreciated the 5c when it first came out i had the white iPhone model of course and just the feel and form factor, to have plastic and not worry about drops and shattering into a few sheds of aluminum or glass. it was sturdy and i definitely miss the iconic home button. i hope one day they can bring it back with modern features but a plastic back, prolly not but it would be cool
I'm the only one in my house with an iPhone, and I don't regret it. The only time when it was kind of a pain is when my charger broke and I didn't have a spare, and since everyone else in my house has an android none of their chargers work for my phone.
I feel like if they bring the iPhone C back a lot of people is gonna buy it anyways for the nostalgia. But they gotta do it like they doing with the SE and a plastic back.
The 5c was my first iPhone. Before that i had a samsung and when i had to get a new phone i also wanted a (newer) samsung and i was an apple hater because I thought it was just for pretentious rich people who want to show off. My stepdad convinced me to try the iPhone for a week and that then i can try the samsung out for a week and then decided. I tried the iPhone and loved it so much I didn’t even want to try the samsung anymore. I had the pink 5c and i loved it. I loved the plastic back because I didn’t feel scared of using it without the case, it didn’t slide out of my hand, it was nice and cute and small. Very quirky and girly, perfect for 13 year old me
the sad thing is that from ALOT of standpoints the iphone 5c was really cool. i wish there were more exiting color options nowadays on phones, imagine if instead of using plastic the phone used metal but still had those colors (similar to the ipod). it might not look as premium but it shure as hell would look amazing

I love the way your resolution or whatever is when you recorded this vid because it was like perfectly fit to my 11 screen. The way other vids look kinda sucks cause its made for a straight up rectangle screen but the way you made this vid it was perfectly fit from just under where the camera notch is down to where the screen goes straight on the bottom of the phone. If you get what i am trying to explain please explain it better for others lol
I legitimately wanna know who is buying really old iPhones that can't even run the latest versions of apps in 2022, especially phones like the iPhone 5C and the really old SE. When we got my dad a phone we got him a refurbished iPhone 7 and he actually uses it!
I genuinely downgraded from a 12 Mini to an SE1. I was lucky to find a brand new SE, completely pristine with no dirt, lint or marks in any of the ports, and intend to use it for 6 months. I will go back to my Mini when iOS 16 is out. The SE can do pretty much everything my Mini can do and it’s a better form factor.
@@uthmanbaksh3530 I mean, think about it. Niche Retro PCs have their own place in the retro gaming community because of the nostalgia factor that came with playing on one as a kid. Mobile gaming was at its peak back around 2008-2014, and the people who were children at that time are now becoming adults. Many of these games are either unplayable due to advancements in iOS leaving them behind to a broken state or being removed from the App Store and even purchases entirely. These older devices provide them a way to play the games that they can’t on their newest iPhone being reminiscent of a retro pc gamer his childhood setup; not to mention the fact that exploiters have found their way around Apple’s security throughout the years is even more tempting.
iPhone 5C was my first ever iPhone, i still use the charger and cable it came with. When Apple drops cables all together, or goes to USB-C i'll have about 5 brand new chargers and cables still lying about lol

I know this has nothing to do with the video but wat phone could I replace my iPhone se 2020 with that isn’t to expensive
@@preston8872 I dunno, you could trade it in for an iPhone 11, or SE 3.
@@preston8872 OnePlus 7 Pro, if you dont mind android. Its a beast if you get one for a good price. I have one actually. 90hz screen, big battery with good life, an actual 4k screen (QHD, you can watch videos in 4k on RUclips), currently on its way to get android 12, 256gb of storage, 8gb of ram... If you find a refurbished one they run for about $300-$400, but you could probably find a brand new in-box one for the same price.
okay but the First level of Sonic 3 music as background took me back in the best way
The iPhone 5c was the VERY FIRST iPhone I ever had and I loved it soooo much it’s crazy just seeing it come out the box again, lowkey brought back some memories (fun fact: my iPhone 5c was also green)
It was my first phone ever too
I just turned on my 5c after years to see how it works today.
I thought 16 was bad
I had the Galaxy S7 with 32gb of storage and that was horrendous but 8gb-16gb? Hell no. That is way too damn small.
@@nitroxylictv 8 gb was basically a feature phone and nothing else
Free???
I wouldn’t mind a plastic iPhone now. I’ve always preferred plastic because it’s lighter, it doesn’t break as easy, and it’s cheaper.
I've used 5S for 8 years and only switched to 13 mini 3 weeks ago. Loved that phone.
I have a iPhone 13 not the mini
I had that green color and loved it, I wish they had used it for the 11 series instead of the pastel colors.
I bought a new 128gb SE from a very similar seller
The box was clearly not the original as you mentioned but the phone is legit and I’m still using it to this day :)
i have a 5c on ios 7 still, so glad i didn't update
sonic 3 special stage music in the background is a nice touch
The first iPhone my parents bought was the 5c. My mom got one in white and my dad got one in green. This brings me back big time!
I absolutely loved the 5C! This thing was a BEAST with its plastic back cover! I´ve beaten the hell out it - only having a screenprotector on it, it was the last phone to go without a case. Cant remeber how many times i popped the Screen back into the plastic "shell" hahaha
I switched to the SE for the new camera features like SLOMO - loved that thing too!
Still today i sometimes grab the 5C and admire it a bit (always brings out a smile ;))
Imagine something like a 14C MINI - this would be, at least for me, the absolute best phone to get!
I just unboxed a brand new iPhone 4S. So nostalgic to look at!
i still have my blue 5C. good to have a backup incase my 6S goes down. ill keep phones for years and not upgrade until its totally dead
Smart
I hope you will give the seller of the iPhone SE a bad rating to warn other potential buyers.
I use to have 5c back in highschool and that thing last long for like 5 years 😂 it just that good
11:25 that bug is a bug i remember on my old iPhone i had that issue the only fix was to turn it off & back on by just hitting the side power button haha :D
I still have like a pallet of the iphone 5s and 5c in all colors. It was a good size.
My first iPhone and it made me so happy! I used it until 2019. I turned it on recently and it still worked fine, with Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo Mail being quite fast and smooth
I used to have a blue 5C and I loved it so much. One of my favorite phones
The 5C was my very 1st iPhone and I loved it. Unfortunately had to upgrade to a 6s cos I couldn’t do ios update on my 5C.
when I was a kid this is my Dream Phone, until now even i have the iphone 11 I still want one
I had an iPhone 5c when I went to Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. I took so many photos. That was a good phone.
I loved my 5C. Had it for years until the battery pretty much stopped working, upgraded to a 7pluz after that and that’s prolly my favorite phone I had
I love the 5c. Always trying to find a colour I don’t have yet. Such a great design!
11:32
That's what the home button is also good for!
Canceling stuff!
Just press it bro!
I actually loved the design on this even if people thought it looked cheap, I remember being irritated that it looked nicer than the 5S. Also love the iPhone 5 nostalgia this gave me.
I had an iPhone 5c in blue. It was my 1st iPhone and used it over 3 years.
People knock the 5C, but I LOVED my lime green one. ONLY regret I had about it was NOT going for the 32Gb (I got the 16)
Yeah me too, I got the 16 GB as well, the blue one. It was okay for just a few apps, but forget installing games or putting lots of music on it.
I remember seeing ads for the 5C everywhere when they came out and thinking they were so cool
I got this exact iPhone 5c (the same color and same storage) for just $171 on an eBay action back in June 2015, plus another $50 to unlock it… I only used it for a few months… but still brings me a lot of memories.
the SE one isn't a scam.
It said "new sealed", and it is in fact a new seal.
it has to be "original factory sealed".
I had the first SE. I loved the 5 so got one. I’ve now got the mini. I just can’t leave the small phones alone…
The green 5c was my first ever iPhone
Good times and good memories on that phone fr
iPhone 5c was such a beautiful phone it was the most comfy iPhone to hold made to this date I wish they would make another one but I guess that’s what the “SE” is for now
5c amazed me with what apple's soc is capable of when i was still android fanboi, testing out the 5c at a mall playing real racing 3 i think, it's smooth gameplay amazed me
Seen that issue where iOS 8 devices become painfully slow and unresponsive before on the 5C, 5S and 6. They were all on earlier versions of iOS 8 (pre 8.3) not exactly sure what caused it, but restarting it and turning on airplane mode seems to be a fix.
I think it has to do with the GPS rollover that happened in 2019 but who knows?
I still have my iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1.1 works like a charm but sadly the apps crash, such a wonderful phone many great memories with it the iPhone I’ve had
I lived with a 4S for 2 weeks this year on my holiday in turkey, it’s on iOS 6 and it was a fever dream
I remember in 2013 I got the base 5S, reason being because I wanted all the new features but I lover the look and feel of the C
I just bought an iPhone se exactly like the one in the video for less than $50 and it’s 64gb in almost perfect condition, all I had to do was replace the battery.
The ancestor of our iPhone 12,13,11, xr is the iPhone 5c
I had a blue 5C. Loved it and I miss that design.
No, its a siri outdaded file issue. It also happens if he puts a sim in, no matter which device if its on ios 8, due to an outdaded baseband.
The 5c was my first phone and I can't describe the feeling of having it
I got mine for .99 cents on resigning my AT&T contract in 2014. I liked it.
I miss iOS 7 lol. It was such a new feeling - the control center was dope to me
By the end of 2013, I was STILL stuck with a 3GS so I couldn't use iOS 7!
Awesome. This exact color of iPhone 5C is my favorite phone I ever owned. Loved it to death, used it until 2016.
I remember coming home after a day out with friends in early 2014 and one of these was sitting on my bed. Was a cool little phone
The software lag happened on my iPhone 5s running iOS 8.3. The way to fix it is to factory reset the device again for it to not lag.
If it’s black listed overseas it might still work in the US/Canada, try a SIM card!
this was a cool video also love your humor lol i really appreciated the 5c when it first came out i had the white iPhone model of course and just the feel and form factor, to have plastic and not worry about drops and shattering into a few sheds of aluminum or glass. it was sturdy and i definitely miss the iconic home button. i hope one day they can bring it back with modern features but a plastic back, prolly not but it would be cool
the old ios 10 and below scrolling i loved, especially for 60hz phones, made them feel smoother than fast scrolling in ios 11 and onwards
The iphone 5C was my first phone ever! i had the white stormtrooper model, which i thought it was underrated.
The iPhone se was my first iPhone se ever and i still love it
I'm the only one in my house with an iPhone, and I don't regret it. The only time when it was kind of a pain is when my charger broke and I didn't have a spare, and since everyone else in my house has an android none of their chargers work for my phone.
fun fact: the wallpaper you see on the other device at 4:02 shows the iOS version the device you're setting up is running.
I feel like if they bring the iPhone C back a lot of people is gonna buy it anyways for the nostalgia.
But they gotta do it like they doing with the SE and a plastic back.
I actually got an iPhone SE on iOS 9 for $50 speechless when it showed up
cool and the iphone 5c is in my favorite color
Remember being bought one of these when i was 13, I’m now 21 with an iPhone 13 Pro Max
Im a big fan of the artist HOME so when i heard the music at 8:16 i was happy (falling into place is one of my most favorite tracks from HOME)
His music is great! Love the retro vibes.
My first iPhone was a 5c , only because the 5s was sold out ! I still liked it and kept it till the iPhone 6 came out. Then I got the iPhone 7, Xs , 11 pro max , 12 pro max , 13 pro and now waiting to pre order the 14 pro max ! Hopefully with gen 2 AirPods Pro’s.
i loved my 5c i had two of them i had one replaced for a factory fault and soon after the other one they gave me stopped working all together
sad times they werent even broken screen wise either
Currently in 2022 I have a iPhone 4s running 7.0.1 and works just as good as my regular phone from 2018
I love the way your resolution or whatever is when you recorded this vid because it was like perfectly fit to my 11 screen.
When we got my dad a phone we got him a refurbished iPhone 7 and he actually uses it!
retro mobile gamers or just nostalgic nerds
I genuinely downgraded from a 12 Mini to an SE1. I was lucky to find a brand new SE, completely pristine with no dirt, lint or marks in any of the ports, and intend to use it for 6 months. I will go back to my Mini when iOS 16 is out. The SE can do pretty much everything my Mini can do and it’s a better form factor.
@@damian9303 I get that collectors of iPhones will want this, not so much gamers.
