The irony of this is the only thing wrong with the broncos was their offense. Other than dropping 70 to the dolphins the Denver broncos were a top defensive team in the league over the last two years…with the lowest scoring output for any offense. Russell was definitely the problem

If you want to know what Russell is like as a teammate I suggest you watch interviews of guys like Bobby Wagner, Dk Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Cliff Avril, Robert Turbin, Garett Bolles, Pat Surtain, Justin Simmons, Courtland Sutton, Melvin Gordon, KJ Hamler, etc. There's more I could name. All speak very highly of his character and and some are his closest friends. If your character was only defined by co-workers that didn't like you on their podcasts, that'd be pretty unfair right? That is essentially what is done to Russ. A few guys he didnt gel with, weren't people he spoke with outside of work have created the narrative he's not a good teammate. I believe the numerous teammates who've been vocal about how he is a great person and team player vs the 3 or 4 who all happen to have major ofd the field issue like drunk driving and DV.
Yeah and guy who got arrested for trying to break into ex wives parents house while drunk. I'm a life long Seahawks fan and a lot of the resentment came from defensive guys that said he got treated differently than other players. That Pete didn't hold him as accountable which is not Wilson's fault at all! They are just butthurt!

You are 100% correct I got criticised by 99% of Broncos fans for saying it was a ridiculous trade that wouldn’t work out. No quarterback is worth 5 draft picks and 3 players and that bloated contract except Mahomes. And I would still be resistant. Russ is a very good system quarterback. He never carried the Seahawks although he played well for them.

So he transfer to Wisconsin a better environment/program with some talent around him and win. Even before the NFL the warning signs where there.

The Broncos paid - overpaid, tbh - Russell because they expected him to be that QB they sorely needed since Peyton retired. When a player is on a HOF trajectory like Russell Wilson was before he arrived, they’re going to get the contract Denver handed to Russell. The Broncos got 11 wins in two seasons in return-that’s simply not going to cut it.

As a broncos fan, a lot of the games we lost were within one score. Russ could never finish the job, and we knew every game was 50/50. We won games we shouldn't have, and we lost games we shouldn't have. That 70 burger in Miami was embarrassing. Russ is not him. Bad deal. Let's move on.

From the very beginning of his career, Russell Wilson has been accused of being disingenuous, fake and not a very likable person behind closed doors. I remember in 2012 as a rookie, there were players saying he was very "robotic" in his behavior. Pete was constantly having to remind him of making the "right decisions" with his on-field play. It also didn't help that after throwing the interception at the end of the Super Bowl, he was never held accountable for the throw or not choosing to audible out of the call. He felt emboldened by Pete like he could do no wrong. That's when guys started looking at him differently. When Shannon had Marshawn Lynch on his podcast, Marshawn even admitted that Russell wouldn't speak to any of his teammates that often. That If anyone wanted to call him, they'd need to speak to his rep first. Just completely aloof

Also to RGIII saying the Broncos did nothing to support him; the Broncos D eventually fell off towards the end of the 2022 season and STILL ranked close to the top in most categories.
Nothing is ever entirely one players fault, and this disaster wasn't all on Russ. But he was an horrendous QB in 2022 and a mediocre QB in 2023.
