A similar situation that comes to mind is Isaiah Tomas traded along with Crowder and Zizic for Kyrie, and went from an MVP candidate, 29ppg, on a successful team, to then be in and out of the league less than 2 years later. And traded from the Cavs within the year he was there.
The funny thing about this has been the people feeling the need to no stop defend him ..complaining how disrespected he is….or blaming anyone but Wilson …
In the 2022-23 NFL regular season, Russell Wilson secured the 21st position among all starting quarterbacks in the league which placed him in the middle of the pack. NFL quarterbacks do have their own space or quarterback room a/k/a office to mentally prepare, watch films, and meet with their team members one-on-one to improve performance! The Denver Broncos didn't like Russell Wilson. I hope Russell Wilson land in the Pittsburgh.
lmao i don't like russ at all, but he was 1000% better than mahomes last year by every objective measure. if you put him on the chiefs, or gave him all the advantages that mahomes has, i.e. refs/swifty + NFL rigging/o-line gets to hold every play, the broncos would have cakewalked to the super bowl and looked a lot better than mahomes doing it.
If you are not tall and very mobile and aren't known for being a football einstein, your career will take a hit when the "very" falls off. That only takes a decade. He was drafted in 2012. You do the math.
This has low-key r@cial overtones. You use the word "mobility" but it's pretty easy to understand what you mean. Russ never relied solely on his mobility. Cam Newton did. Secondly, Russ is one of the smartest QBs ever. There's no way you have the kind of 4th quarter success that he has had over his career, even in some games with the Broncos, without having a high IQ. Btw, career 4th quarter passer rating (Minimum 3,000 passing attempts) correlates more strongly with a QB's HoF prospects than any other metric. Guess where Russ ranked all-time among QBs drafted from 1993 to 2021: he was #1! After one bad season with the Broncos and one average one, he still ranks #3 among those same QBs and can take back his top spot with two good years.
I don't like any of these guys especially Nose. However I must give credit to Kevin who did his research and mentioned something VERY significant that got completely glossed over Russell's 1st year in Denver. He was playing hurt. His knee which need surgery and a torn lat which is no joke. That definitely impacted his game. I feel context is important when discussing his 1st season in Denver. He didn't just fall off a cliff. Also, 60% of the starters on the team were injured. Now pair that with a 1st time HC that was clueless and you get the season you got. What Russ did wrong was not sit out some games to recover. But that doesn't matter anymore. I believe he was never meant to be a Bronco. He will be starting on another team as soon as he is officially available.
Russ had 2 more touchdowns (26) and only 1 more interceptions (8) as Lamar Jackson last year. He did good, not awful. I think it was a chemistry thing between him and the team. Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.
The team who gets Russell has to be comfortable with allowing him to play more free. Not just try and handcuff him and make him so systematic. Try and just be a lil fluid with the style.
Why do my Steelers need to sign a washed QB? We already have 2 young QBs who can barely play? What is this a quantity argument? Love the show but I’m lost on this one.
Russ's agent will ask for a 4 year contract with some team, fully guaranteed, for 1.2m$ for Years 1 and 2, then 10m$ for Years 3 and 4. Denver will finance the first 2 years and years 3 and 4 will show a teams commitment to getting Russ.

Lifelong falcons fan, but love to watch Mahomes. Can’t call myself a Chiefs fan because I have no history with them but I get a lot of joy out of watching Mahomes do his thing.
Ngl nick is wright about that deshaun Watson. People are quick to forget but that has been equally a bad trade so far.
Broussard is getting handled by nick wright. He's making bruu look like a simp!
Kurt warner was beat up!
A similar situation that comes to mind is Isaiah Tomas traded along with Crowder and Zizic for Kyrie, and went from an MVP candidate, 29ppg, on a successful team, to then be in and out of the league less than 2 years later. And traded from the Cavs within the year he was there.
WE GOT THE DRUM ROLL BOIS
The funny thing about this has been the people feeling the need to no stop defend him ..complaining how disrespected he is….or blaming anyone but Wilson …
Who gets impacted the most is fan's and the price of tickets because of high salary
Oh please . You don’t have to go. You get a better view from your couch
As a Steelers fan, i really hoped we got fields
Lol what has fields proved
@@PhillyJLiveThat he’s better than Kenny Pickett, but then again who isn’t.
The Master Broussard showing what real journalists and knowledge is about
Speak had the better take on this issue
👏👏👏
Why are the colors so bad/washed? Love the show though
Russ embarrassed the Broncos more than anyone in franchise history.
It all started when he beat them 43-8 in the Superbowl......
Let's ride.... $
That idiot is a bum QB
The fact nobody mentions Jerry jeudy horrible play let's me know this was not Russ !
I’m surprised people think JJ McCarthy is good.
Browns panicked when they took Watson. Fans got more adrenaline excitement from the 5 or 6 games that Flacco played than all of Deshawns put together.
Nick is 100% right, preach!!!! He called the chiefs superbowl. Smartest analyst on TV. 🧠🧠
lmao i don't like russ at all, but he was 1000% better than mahomes last year by every objective measure. if you put him on the chiefs, or gave him all the advantages that mahomes has, i.e. refs/swifty + NFL rigging/o-line gets to hold every play, the broncos would have cakewalked to the super bowl and looked a lot better than mahomes doing it.
LOL
Ok
Small athletes who rely on mobility to create opportunities don’t age well. All of the older QBs are throwers and thinkers.
Best take. 👌
Russ went 26TD's and 8 INT'S last year with a 98.0 QB rating. Let's not put all of this on him...
Check downs
Russ had 2 more touchdowns (26) and only 1 more interceptions (8) as Lamar Jackson last year. He did good, not awful. I think it was a chemistry thing between him and the team. Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.
Had 1 less mvp
Bronco fan here Nicks right he wouldn’t pass over the middle aimed at Sutton never targeted Jeudy or anyone else
Show is so much better when nick is wrong. Almost unwatchable when he is right.
This makes Brock Purdy’s deal look criminal.
The team who gets Russell has to be comfortable with allowing him to play more free. Not just try and handcuff him and make him so systematic. Try and just be a lil fluid with the style.
Lol, Nick always thinks all washed up players are a good fit in NE. I wonder why that might be… 😂
lol
Russ isn't washed up. He has lost his confidence.
Penix > Bo Nix and JJ
Yeah penix looked great in the senior bowl 😂
Why do my Steelers need to sign a washed QB? We already have 2 young QBs who can barely play? What is this a quantity argument? Love the show but I’m lost on this one.
Russ's agent will ask for a 4 year contract with some team, fully guaranteed, for 1.2m$ for Years 1 and 2, then 10m$ for Years 3 and 4. Denver will finance the first 2 years and years 3 and 4 will show a teams commitment to getting Russ.
Can't wait for Nick to be wrong on JJ McCarthy no matter where he ends up
The disrespect on Russ is horrible, the man can’t have one bad year and he shook back last season beating everyone’s favorite teams
👏👏👏 thank you. He is very disrespected.
Yes
The Deshaun deal has nothing to do with this
