It's good that you have made this video. I've noticed over the last 3 or 4 weeks on /r/Christianity there have been a lot of people asking about the unpardonable sin.

What is the orthodox doctrine on suicide? You said something about praying someone out of hades. Protestansts tend to say when you die the jufgement is set for eternity. However after my friend commited suicide i found my self begging God to have mercy on his soul.
Well, this is different from what I was taught, but I imagine you have many Church fathers who worked out what it means, rather than a lone Baptist preacher.
Could you make a video about how to take care of icons? I listened to a podcast from Fr. Thomas Hopko about it and honestly it makes me terrified to become Orthodox, since it is apparently VERY strict.
The rejection of the inspiration of the Holy Spirit leads to spiritual death, indeed. Yet why does it say in this verse rejection of the Son of God does not lead to spiritual death? This part of the verse is what causes confusion, and indeed it is very hard to find an answer to this. All throughout Scripture, it says those who reject Christ are damned, but in this verse it says they will be forgiven? Well, the forgiveness is conditional. Now, the other type which is apparently the unforgiveable type, against the Spirit, this by the same token must also be considered conditional. Then of course we must apply the local and total contexts around this verse, what is the chapter talking about, how do the contents of this chapter in particular relate to other parts of Scripture? So in various other parts of the total scriptures, it clearly says all sins by repentance can be removed and one can be saved. It seems then that perhaps maybe this verse is a textual error, a mistranslation, perhaps? Maybe it was an error from the Lord? Both these things cannot be so, since the Lord and His Word are infallable, perfect, divine. So to conclude, we must accept this verse as basically a paradox, a hard saying, deliberately put the way it has been put to bring a challenge to the mind, to cause great caution, but at the same time it causes a great relief since it says "sins against the Son of God shall be forgiven". The Son and the Holy Spirit are the one God, the Trinity, Who forgives all sins provided we repent according to His Holy Commandments. And to add to this conclusion, to clarify even further, on the judgment day all men shall have at least a few sins for which they did not actively repent, which shall be weighed up by the Lord against that man's repentance, his virtue, his obedience, his holiness, and then the Lord will draw a final verdict, delivering him into the Kingdom or casting him out ("depart from me, I never knew thee"). So ALL MEN are sinners, we say "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner", not "on me, a perfect man", and it is with this type of approach we correct the soul, not with the approach of delusion that we are perfect. That is what the Lord wants, indeed he also wants us to become perfect, but not by our own means, but rather by the means of self-denial so that HE CAN MAKE US perfect. The Lord makes the impossible possible according to what He Himself proclaimed. So with all that said, considering the contexts, let us repent, let us not only be external Christians but also internally Christian, appropriating our souls to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. And let us not use our pathetic, small rationale to try and interpret this verse about unforgiveable blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and forgiveable blasphemy against Christ - the meaning is put the way it is on purpose by Christ to challenge the rationale, to beckon us to submit to the deeper, spiritual meaning, which in substance is a paradox. The Lord uses paradox to filter out those who are rationalists, who demand logical clarity, and to make those people submit their logical mind to the deeper spiritual meaning, the spiritual warning.
If I had left the church after the death of a family member when i was young and became atheist have I committed Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? I was perhaps eleven-twelve at the time. I have now a baptized and confirmed Catholic so i do not know how this affects it.
As a fellow Catholic. I recommend that you pray day by day, night by night, and when you awake and when you're about to fall asleep. Pray the rosary atleast once everyday or better pray the rosary 2 or more times. Ask God through the intercession of the Theotokos for grace, for like me and anybody. You need grace for every day and every second of your life.
When you are baptized all provisos sins cease to be as they are washed away in the font. Rebirth in the font puts the whole provisos life away, for we die and are resurrected in Christ. We still need to live in repentance and humility. Sins washed away in Baptism and repentance (expressed in confession) are gone, we do not need and should not bring them to mind as that increase the chance for the sin of despair or repeating them.
I know you are not Protestant or interested in Protestantism, but you may like the content of FreedomInGod, he does apologetics and other stuff. He has a few videos on doctrinal issues you may disagree with, but the apologetics and fundamentals you may enjoy. Good day!
@@seronymus I don't believe there are any truly viable candidates as you would have to get a majority of the population agree with their leadership, which is practically impossible. I see it much more likely that the US would balkanize, and a remnant state would adopt such a system. Unless of course an elective monarchy is put into place. So to be honest with you, Trump himself may be a good first candidate, and he has viable heirs such as Barron, Donald Jr., Kushner, and more, but I know and understand that he is not an accepted leader my more than half of the population.
@American Monarchist I share your realistic view haha. Let's pray it is a peaceful breakup and the far left maniacs just get a state like California to ruin things in, and we can have a sort of Kingdom of Asturias type situation that can rise again on the continent.
I liked this video. Bojan let me ask you this: if someone was hooked on pain medication and accidentally overdoses an dies, do you think the holy father would say "this is accident", or"you made the choice to use drugs so you killed your self"?1
2 unforgivable sins. The one Jesus calls out in Mark, and the one God says is unforgivable in the Ten Commandments, namely using the Lords name in vain.
Scriptures use that rhetoric over and over again; a person who repents of X sin is no longer he who commits X sin therefore, he is not a sinner when it comes to X.
@J G and? It says the same thing about all humans that we all deserve death, doesn't mean one cannot repent and change. If someone at that time who was marked genuinely repents and converts how could the Lord not forgive Him (notice nowhere does it say that they cannot be forgiven) Luke 17:3-4: "" Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother sin against thee, reprove him: and if he do penance, forgive him. " " And if he sin against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day be converted unto thee, saying, I repent; forgive him. ""
My brother killed himself because he was a useless drunk! I have no prayers for him and I also think my mother went to the same place for destroying her two children with her mouth and other things.
Pray for them, hating your brother is the equivalent of hating god, you know that saying "how can you love god whom you have never seen if you don't love your brother whom you have seen"?, It's like that, anyway I'm in no position to say this, but I think you should pray for them
Pray for them. Pray for yourself as well because there is hate in your heart consuming you. It hurts you, not them. I know some people are terrible, but we are called to pray for them anyway.
Such was the sin of Judas; he believed his sin was bigger than the mercy of God.
Yup!
If I fell into that trap, can I come out?
