The question of the cannon of scripture was my entry point into Orthodoxy. Intercession of the saints is implicit all throughout the Bible and ironically in the books that were removed.
Very insightful to recognize a question that is actually a criticism. Seems to me Jesus regularly responded to questions asked by those who wanted to prove Him wrong by referencing scripture. Your gentle admonishment was spot on.
I was raised Baptist, and often heard this argument. God has revealed to me exactly what you are saying regarding the brothers and sisters (saints) who are departed. And I have looking into Orthodoxy, due to the omission of the books in the Protestant Bibles. I feel cheated.
@@bodo2148 thank you for your encouraging words. God is healing me under His wing, and I’m looking forward to growing in His Grace and loving kindness.
Since the 7 books in question werent removed from ANY Bible until the late 1800s, In any form of Protestantism or translation. It seems like its a bit of a False Characterizion haha.
@@iagoofdraiggwyn98 and even further, those books weren’t removed from Lutheran services/lectionaries until WW1 when the American Lutherans began to hold services in English and switched to the most widely available Bible at the time.
Not true. The Apocryphal texts were ALWAYS questioned. Read Eusebius, he gives us multiple canon & many people did not accept the apocrypha & others did. Jerome, the author of the Latin Vulgate did not believe the apocrypha was on par with the other books. Saint Augustine certainly believed in the ultimate authority of Scripture & Thomas Aquinas quoted him in this & believed the same.
Also, I get prayer to saints, but what about praying to saints who specialize in specific items ("patron saints")? Is it simply the case of being in a community, so you go to the person in the community who has the most expertise on something?

Tu as raison sur Moïse. Il est apparu lors de la Transfiguration et Pierre l'a vu et Jean nous a parlé de cela dans l'Evangile. @@dante-lj4ow I grew up Catholic, went all through Catholic school. You have to pray to them to ask them to pray for you. Same difference. They don't hear you, and no man has the right to declare someone else a saint. All believers are called saints now.
@@doriesse824 But that's exactly what the Catholic Church teaches, it's in the Catechism even: "The Church is a "communion of saints"...by which "the unity of believers, who form one body in Christ, is both represented and brought about". So what exactly is the issue here? And if you think no man has the right to declare someone else a saint then you must have a problem with Paul referring to men as saints all throughout the New Testament. Also, if you think the dead cannot hear the living then explain how Peter was able to pray and speak to Tabitha who was dead before he resurrected her back to life.
@@gunshotlagoon922 Nothing you said has any relevance to the topic of this video. Peter was speaking to Tabitha's flesh as she was there visibly. He was giving a command, not supplicating her. Not at ALL the same as praying to someone who's been gone for decades or centuries. Just because the Catholic church declares something to be true, doesn't make it so. In fact, it's usually quite the opposite. They don't even preach the Gospel, they make it at least halfway your own efforts.
Great video, Bojan! You covered a lot of topics that Protestant Christians would disagree with. However, one common questions many Protestants ask about prayer to the Saints is ‘how do we know the Saints can hear our prayers?’ Do you have any thoughts you’d like to share about this?
Jesus told his disciples that "These works shall ye do (miracles) and even greater works shall ye do" The saints, whether on earth or in heaven have the Holy Spirit (3rd person of the Holy Trinity) and therefore they have the gifts of the spirit....all sorts of miracles, including hearing the prayers of people on earth
@@Ariel-rp9gk often they can. In it, the Christians describe the events following his burning at the stake: "We took up his bones, which are more valuable than precious stones and finer than refined gold, and laid them in a suitable place, where the Lord will permit us to gather ourselves together, as we are able, in gladness and joy and to celebrate the birthday of his martyrdom." ● 2 KINGS. 13: 20-21. The use of the bones of Elisha brought a dead man to life: "So Elisha died, and they buried him. Now bands of Moabites used to invade the land in the spring of the year. And as a man was being buried, lo, a marauding band was seen and the man was cast into the grave of Elisha; and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood on his feet" This is an unequivocal biblical example of a miracle being performed by God through contact with the relics of a saint! In the book of Acts, Paul's handkerchiuef was used to heal the sick: ● ACTS 19:12-13..Thew Handkerchief of Paul healed the sick: 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. 13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, [a]“We [b]exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.”

I get what your saying, but if we take that to the logical extreme with the inplied connotations, it would also mean we should turn water into wine or physically raise the dead. I would rather aruge the St. Paul is giving the same meaning as "what would Jesus do?" In terms of Love. Would Jesus forgive a transgression? Would Jesus offer correction? Would Jesus turn the other cheek? Would Jesus Humble himself unto death for that of another? That type of thing. Christ is the perfect God, yet also the perfect Man. And as men ourselves, we follow after his Divinity by imitating his Humanity. That is what it means to Follow Our Lord, Christ.

Hello! I hope this doesn’t come across as a challenge, but an honest question. If we aren’t to pray to saints with the intention of gaining knowledge of the future, since many of them are credited for appearing in visions and telling what will come to pass, aren’t we really tempted to expect , or perhaps unknowingly expecting, this outcome anyway? I’m having a hard time understanding the distinction. Thanks!
The fathers consistently teach to neither expect nor desire visions of any kind since they can easily lead to delusion. ("Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light", 2 Corinthians 11).
Hey Bojan I was wondering what style of reading do you do as a reader in the Serbian Orthodox Church, do you just read the text normally or do you do a kind of monotone chant which I have seen used further north. Thanks.
Early Christians respected the Bible, that's why it was so important to confirm which texts belonged in the New Testament canon. Cause all texts were not canon. And for example the Apochrypha: The Jews themselves never saw them as canon.
The Orthodox prayer book contains prayers to our guardian angel and hymns to the Holy Angels. The Holy Angels are also depicted in Revelation offering the prayers of the saints to God. Saints for us are those of the Orthodox Church. No post-Schism Catholic Saint is considered a Saint in the Orthodox Church. Orthodox Christians, with rare exceptions, accept the determination of the Church as to who is a Saint, and I know of no parallel controversy to those you mention surrounding any Saint within Orthodoxy.
Jesus Christ is our intercessor and our high priest. (Is that loaded enough for you?) I'm a cathcumen at St. Nicholas in Seattle WA. That is the home church of St. John the wonder worker of Shanghai and San Francisco. You have already made a video on the Toll houses. I agree with your standpoint on that issue. I will also say that I have consistently come into contact with these types of issues because of what I have come to consider as the intercession of the devil. Are we becoming a sole remaining bastion of Orthodoxy? But not to worry. My Priest (Father Paul) assured me that as we continue on the path that we will become more and more tempted to all manner of Distraction. 🦉. By the way! If you are going to quote the Bible as a disclaimer to protestants or anyone else you should claim the Book: Chapter: and Verse. Just to be clear and precise sir. Have a blessed day.🇺🇸☦️🤠
I think I understand what you are saying, just not quite certain..Im pretty new to Orthodoxy..a life long protestant...Memeber of St. Sava (Issaquah)..So many questions, so little time..
Your argument from James states the believers on earth should pray for one another correct while still on earth . I offer you a prayer to Jesus that you gain understanding and focus your prayers only to Him .
Well... not particularly. The Hebrew Bible, specifically the Septuigent, was around prior to Pentecost. The Law and the Prophets hailed Lord Christ prior to his Incarnation.
After Jesus and the apostles there is no more need for any new basic revelations, the canon closes there. And we see no praying to passed away saints in the Bible.
there's 2 questions that come up with this one: it's easy for you to arrogantly dismiss Protestants while also not taking seriously or actually understanding the heart of the questions and in some cases objections. Instead you talk down and say , well because you're wrong and instead address some issue that no one's even raising. So if church tradition contradicts scripture which we know is God-breathed which is correct? Tradition including the councils are ultimately the acts, decisions, and opinions of men who are all flawed and to some degree have limited or distorted understanding. Instead, I will side with scripture. Second Jesus says "I am the way the truth and the life No one comes to the Father but by me." and 1 Timothy 2:5 "there is One God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus." so even if asking other departed saints for prayers you're taking an unnecessary detour through someone else when we have access directly to the throne room of God Hebrews 4:16. There's no need biblically to go through saints, Icons, Theotokos, or anything else. The whole point is theosis-communion with the Godhead. Anything else falls in danger of violating the first commandment of seeking answers and giving honor to other things other than God Himself.
Isaiah 64 6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. 7 No one calls on your name or strives to lay hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us and have given us over to[b] our sins.

Luther took out some books bc he thought we Catholics wrote them as a mean to back up our "made up" doctrines, little he knew that every other Church also had those for centuries and not just Catholics lol
@Quis ut Deus? Luther advocated for them to be read. He didn’t give them the same honour as the rest of the Bible, but he didn’t hate them or wanted them removed. He relocated them to somewhere between the Old and New Testament.
@@patrickhewitt6593 Once you change one thing to fit your own personal view you embolden others to change other things. Before Luther died he had lost control of his movement and unwillingly emboldened mad proto-communists like Anabaptists.
Same with the Anglicans, as well. The KJV contained all the Duedurocannonatical books in their own section. In the 1662 BCP, the respective books are apart of the 2 year Bible Reading cycle for Morning and Evening Prayer. Benefical, for sure, but also not equal to scripture and isnt used to build sound doctrine upon. Which i believe is also what that Romanists do as well, that they dont build doctrine upon them as they are religated to being a second cannon as well while also remaining scripture. I could be wrong about that, so check me if i am.
@@doriesse824 well the teaching goes that the Holy Spirit guides everything the Church does, so if the Church glorifies someone is because the Holy Spirit guided her to do so
We don’t pray to saints, we ask for them to pray for us… and since the Saints are alive in Christ, they hear us in the same way Abraham saw Christ on His big day… “Your forefather Abraham was extremely happy at the hope and prospect of seeing My day (My incarnation); and he did see it and was delighted.” John 8:56 "And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand." --Revelations 8:3-4 The early Christians prayed over the relics of the holy. Why do some holy people's bodies never decompose and myrrh flows from them and heals those who are anointed. We don't explain it as part of our theology but we look upon it as a mystery of God that gives us added hope and courage. Therefore since it is not dogma I can accept it or not.

The Bible is like the Church's Constitution, it's the founding documents which guide everything else and which the Church builds upon. If this is a heresy, then whoopsie.
if it is a constitution then it constituted the church ≈50-80 years before it was finished :) IHS is the constitution; Holy Spirit is the guide; the church preaches, writes books, paints icons, build buildings to preserve and pass on the faith; and some books - especially early ones - happened to be "so good" that we bind them together in one volume, ie. the Bible. the church was before any NT books was written and continues thereafter. the church build upon the deposit of faith which handed down the lineage of apostoles, of which a significant portion is in fact written in the scriptures.

Hello, I believe the Apostles Paul letters were addressed to specific churches, under specific conditions, for specific purposes.. like I believe 2. Corinthians 1:8-11 was written in accordance with the Apostle Pauls present life. Similarly the Bible mentions that God does not help or serve the Angels... Hebrews 2:5, 16; Or the account from the Book of Revelation, where the Apostle John is warned, not to pray to that Angel.. Well, personally I am a JW, and even so I was not always living up to Scriptures and done many bad, though I believe what is important is truth about God, and to try to live in accordance with Gospel, while God will remove the bad traditions or teachings, that are not from Him. Otherwise some impressive videos from you etc., wish you all the best.
Praying to the dead is strictly forbidden in the Bible. Deuteronomy 18:11 tells us that anyone who “consults with the dead” is “detestable to the Lord.” The story of Saul consulting a medium to bring up the spirit of the dead Samuel resulted in his death “because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance” (1 Samuel 28:1-25; 1 Chronicles 10:13-14). Clearly, God has declared that such things are not to be done.
People didn’t pray to saints in the whole old and new testaments, it is strange that Christians began to do this, definitely needs an explanation. Did Jesus give dead people omniscience? Something changed here.

Ok so there’s not any example of an apostle in the Bible praying to Esteban after he died, or John the Baptist or James in acts 12:2 not even praying to the ones that died persecuted, in hebrews the church was in persecution, Paul didn’t establish a clear doctrine of praying to saints he always focused in Christ literally in all his letters, Jesus, he’s the only intercesor in the divine council the only one that could open the seals in revelation , I think the arguments in this video are tradition based and not biblical based, and also if really was an important doctrine Jesus himself of Paul or any of the apóstoles would include that in the confessions of fate in the New Testament that by the way are Christ Centered. And the fact that the angels bring prayers to god that doesn’t mean, that the people are praying to angels but to God himself, I have seen people that pray to saints all my life and many times is not just “veneration” many times is adoration, that’s is dangerous, because you’re not focusing on Jesus, when the disciples saw Moses and Elijah the voice in the Cloud said that Jesus was the son of God that must listen to Him , not listen to Moses and Elijah

The question of the cannon of scripture was my entry point into Orthodoxy. Intercession of the saints is implicit all throughout the Bible and ironically in the books that were removed.
That is true! :)
Very insightful to recognize a question that is actually a criticism. Seems to me Jesus regularly responded to questions asked by those who wanted to prove Him wrong by referencing scripture. Your gentle admonishment was spot on.

Wasn’t Elijah whisked away directly to heaven?
How was there bones?
Ohhh you mean Elisha, I see.
Great video Bojan! Please pray for me as I am struggling right now.
I was raised Baptist, and often heard this argument. God has revealed to me exactly what you are saying regarding the brothers and sisters (saints) who are departed. And I have looking into Orthodoxy, due to the omission of the books in the Protestant Bibles. I feel cheated.
You have been blessed, this is late but despair not! Hope you’re doing much better in your spiritual walk with Christ (: ☦️

The great irony of Sola Scriptura is that Martin Luther who preached it removed 7 books from the Bible.
Since the 7 books in question werent removed from ANY Bible until the late 1800s, In any form of Protestantism or translation. It seems like its a bit of a False Characterizion haha.
Not only that, you also look up his opinions on various New Testament books he didnt remove like the Book of James or Revelations.
@@iagoofdraiggwyn98 and even further, those books weren’t removed from Lutheran services/lectionaries until WW1 when the American Lutherans began to hold services in English and switched to the most widely available Bible at the time.
Excellent point!

Matthew 17:3-4. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with. And Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is well that we are here; if you wish, I will make three booths here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."

And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

Hebrews 12:1 - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
1 Timothy 2:1 - I urge therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, giving of thanks, and intercessions be made for all men;
Romans 8:34 - Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Ephesians 6:18 - Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Psalms 103:20-21 Bless the LORD, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word!

➨RELICS of Saints The veneration of relics is seen explicitly as early as the account of Polycarp’s martyrdom written by the Smyrnaeans in A.D. 156. In it, the Christians describe the events following his burning at the stake: "We took up his bones, which are more valuable than precious stones and finer than refined gold, and laid them in a suitable place, where the Lord will permit us to gather ourselves together, as we are able, in gladness and joy and to celebrate the birthday of his martyrdom."
● 2 KINGS.

● ACTS 19:12-13..Thew Handkerchief of Paul healed the sick:

Can I ask someone to pray for us who is not a canonized Saint? Like a Metropolitan who recently passed?
Thanks!
Or is it that the credit ultimately comes from God and so the expectation of this knowledge isn’t from the Saint him/herself?
Same outcome as prayer with saints here if u can find one ☝️
How does one one "unknowingly expect" an outcome?
The fathers consistently teach to neither expect nor desire visions of any kind since they can easily lead to delusion. ("Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light", 2 Corinthians 11).

let me join to this question. and additionally I'd appriciate if you could point out a tutorial how to do recitation well.
Early Christians respected the Bible, that's why it was so important to confirm which texts belonged in the New Testament canon. Cause all texts were not canon. And for example the Apochrypha: The Jews themselves never saw them as canon.
How do you feel about ppl praying to angels? Also how do you feel about controversial saints like Santa muerte, mother Teresa, and Cyrian?
The Orthodox prayer book contains prayers to our guardian angel and hymns to the Holy Angels. The Holy Angels are also depicted in Revelation offering the prayers of the saints to God.
Saints for us are those of the Orthodox Church. No post-Schism Catholic Saint is considered a Saint in the Orthodox Church. Orthodox Christians, with rare exceptions, accept the determination of the Church as to who is a Saint, and I know of no parallel controversy to those you mention surrounding any Saint within Orthodoxy.

One could even say that the Church is NOT a continuation of the Bible… because it existed before the Bible did ;)
Well... not particularly. The Hebrew Bible, specifically the Septuigent, was around prior to Pentecost. The Law and the Prophets hailed Lord Christ prior to his Incarnation.
Eastern Orthodoxy Is The One Truth☦️💙
The Catholics say the same about their church. No, we need to stay close to the Bible and all who follow it are Christians.
This is also to say we should confess our sins and be forgiven by those in heaven.
Isaiah 64 6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
7 No one calls on your name
or strives to lay hold of you;
for you have hidden your face from us
and have given us over to[b] our sins.
Is praying silently ok? Also is praying in our pajamas ok?
why wouldnt it be?
If you not going to follow the Bible fully what stops you from following other religions?
Well, we do follow the Bible fully so we do not follow other religions.
We follow fully the bible and fully church tradition
MARTIN LUTHER VS THE BIBLE
➔ The entire foundation of Protestantism is false:...
➔The Bible ITSELF Contradicts Luther's doctrine of "scripture alone" (solascriptura) The Bible tells us that the authority is THE CHURCH: ...
● 1 TIMOTHY 3:15 The pillar & foundation of TRUTH is the CHURCH.
● EPHESIANS 3:10 10 His intent was that now, THROUGH THE CHURCH, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
● 2 THESS 2:15 We are to hold fast to the TRADITIONS we have been given, either by WORD OF MOUTH or by the letter.
● 1 COR 11:2 I commend you because you remember me in everything, and maintain the TRADITIONS even as I have delivered them to you.
● JOHN 21:25 Jesus said & did Many other things that are too numerous to be recorded in writing.
● HEB 13:17 Obey the eldars in the CHURCH.
● COR 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
● HEBREWS 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
2 COR 5:20 says that God appointed men in the Church to represent Him. And, in HEB 13:17, God appointed men in the Church to have the rule over His Flock.
● JOHN 13:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
● MATT 18:15-17
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto THE CHURCH: but IF HE NEGLECTS TO HEARTHE CHURCH let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
The True Church is a TEACHING Church: (to Teach means to impart knowledge that is not presently know....not in writing)
● JOHN 14:26-31
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall TEACH you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have SAID unto you. (Spoken words...not in writing)
(To TEACH is to impart knowledge that is not presently known....not in writing)
● ACTS 8:31: And he said, HOW CAN I, (understand scripture) EXCEPT SOMEONE SHOULD GUIDE ME? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
(The scriptures are not for individual interpretation. They need the guidance of the CHURCH. It is PROTESTANTS who are following the doctrines of a man.)

Hello,
I believe the Apostles Paul letters were addressed to specific churches, under specific conditions, for specific purposes..
like I believe 2. Corinthians 1:8-11 was written in accordance with the Apostle Pauls present life.
Similarly the Bible mentions that God does not help or serve the Angels...
Hebrews 2:5, 16;
Or the account from the Book of Revelation, where the Apostle John is warned,
not to pray to that Angel..
Well, personally I am a JW,
and even so I was not always living up to Scriptures
and done many bad,
though I believe what is important is truth
about God, and to try to live in accordance with Gospel,
while God will remove the bad traditions or teachings,
that are not from Him.

But you, Hermas, having been strengthened by the holy angel you saw, and having obtained from him such intercession👈😳.
You say..” I don’t care what early church fathers say unless it’s in the Bible 😂
Well it is and it’s called tradition
Paul On Tradition In The Bible
“I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you” (1 Corinthians 11:2).
“So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.” (2 Thessalonians 2:15)
“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is living in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.” (2 Thessalonians 3:6)
“You, then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:1-2).
The Bible *is* the ultimate authority.
…said no bible-book author ever.
Despite St Peter saying in his epistle to refer to the elders of the church?
Despite the Bible saying that the Church is the foundation and pillar of truth?

● TITUS 3:14 KJV And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
● EPHESIANS 2:8-11 (KJV) Protestants "prove" their false doctrine of "faith alone" By quoting EPH 2:8-9 and they STOP before they get to number 10:
8 For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. (most protestants stop here instead of continuing on to 10):
➨ 10 FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD HAS BEFORE ORDAINED, THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM.
● 1 COR 9:27 (KJV) (Paul speaking) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a cast away.

37 For BY THY WORDS THOU SHALL BE JUSTIFIED, and BY THY WORDS THOU SHALL BE CONDEMNED.
(not by yout faith alone)
➨PENENCE: Protestants reject the idea that they must do "penence" (attempt to make up for the sins they have committed) ● Luke 19:8. Zacchaeus told Jesus if he has cheated anyone, he will repay them 4 times over.
● Mark 2:20 Jesus said (regarding his disciples): The days are coming when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
● Matthew 6:16 When you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrits do
● ACTS 26:20 RSV but declared first to those at Damascus, then at Jerusalem and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God and perform deeds worthy of their repentance.
● ACTS 2:38-40: (This one is in the Catholic Bible) Do Penance and be baptized everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit. For this promise is to you AND YOUR CHILDREN, and to all who are far off who the Lord our God shall call.
● COLOSSIANS 1:24-2:7 kjv
24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
➨PURGATORY:.
● 2 TIMOTHY 1: 16-18. Paul prays for the dead Onesiphorus.
● 1 PETER 4:6 The gospel was preached to the dead.
● 1 PETER 3:19 , Peter says that after the crucifixion and death of Jesus, that Jesus "went to speak to the spirits in prison", which means that there is a place people go to after they die that is a prison and not heaven nor hell.
● MATT 12:32 Whoever speaks a word against the son of man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will Not be forgiven, either in this world, nor in the "world to come" This implies that some sins are forgiven in the "world to come" (purgatory)
● also 1 COR 3:12-15 & more in the Catholic Bible: (2 Mace 12:46). “It is a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they might be loosed from their sins”
The CHURCH is the ultimate authority. Protestant doctrines come from Martin Luther.....not from the bible
And that what you sayin IS NECROMANCY
is not
Ok so there’s not any example of an apostle in the Bible praying to Esteban after he died, or John the Baptist or James in acts 12:2 not even praying to the ones that died persecuted, in hebrews the church was in persecution, Paul didn’t establish a clear doctrine of praying to saints he always focused in Christ literally in all his letters, Jesus, he’s the only intercesor in the divine council the only one that could open the seals in revelation , I think the arguments in this video are tradition based and not biblical based, and also if really was an important doctrine Jesus himself of Paul or any of the apóstoles would include that in the confessions of fate in the New Testament that by the way are Christ Centered.
