Nice video. A detailed tutorial on how to calibrate your paddle settings would be nice. The game is unbelievably realistic, but I know theres ways to change the settings to take it up a notch
I can’t get the hang of the serve ball toss at all, it’s horrible. The ball shoots up at random angles in all directions. I can’t see how to control it and I’ve looked at the preferences too.
Thanks for the useful video. I just started using this app on Quest 2 and going thru your videos. How do I get a spectator view of myself like you do on the videos?
Yes and yes. Spectator mode will bring freeplay doubles to start (any spectator can hit the ball during free play). And environments are always on the list of things to add but other things have taken priority. Check out this video to see what doubles would look like (it's been in beta for a while) ruclips.net/video/9o_ENhes17g/видео.html
These videos are great. I'm still trying to get a setup that seems to work for both my forehand and my backhand. Paddle positioning is the big concern. I've done some custom work, but when the angle and position seems right for the forehand, then I'm popping the ball up with my backhand. I THINK I heard in one of your videos which adapter you recommend. Which paddle/controller adapter do you use? The recommendation said something about this particular adapter was best because it kept the ring portion of the controller always in sight of the headset - which avoided dropouts. Please let me know what you suggest.
First, what you have created is pretty amazing. Coming that from a dev. I wish top spin serve would be a bit more realistic. It comes too aggressive and too fast. Not really a case in real live TT. This serve is pretty useless in real life, because of the explained reasons in the video.. Except that is way WAY easier to fight back that serve in real life. In Eleven, it's just too fast, thus too effective. While at that, if @Eleven Table Tennis ever sees this, consider experimenting how ball is tossed. I wonder whether you can implement a mode you button is pressed just for ball to appear, then it's tossed with a sharp movement up of the controller. What I have found, and observed others having the same issue - when the button is released, it feels like the ball is still stuck to the controller for 20-100ms or so. maybe it's a controller issue, ie how much the button has to travel till you register that it's release. But on the other hand, you don't need to wait till the button is 100% released, right? if button is initially pressed for ball to appear in one's hand for serving, maybe release the ball as soon as you detect that press value is 50%?
Hi, thanks for the feedback. We agree about the topspin serves, and we know that the reason for it is that the table is less bouncy in Eleven, than it is in real life. Once the table physics will be updated, this shouldn't be the case anymore. As for the tossing, I will pass that suggestion to our dev, thank you very much. -Artur
Not yet, but long pips are in testing. It will be awhile though probably before they can be fully introduced. Under 1 throw coefficient would become like nothing irl except for maybe a very slippery bat. But then it would still be able to produce spin which doesn't make sense of course :). Throw of 1 is the closest you can get right now to short pips I think (though way spinnier)
The problem is this serve is pretty effective in ETT but nobody use It in real life TT. I tried many time in real table and it is impossible for me to do that kind of serve especially at very fast speed and low curve, but it’s easy in ETT. I think this is because the physics of ETT is still not as perfect as the real world. So this serve really should not be advocated if people want to transfer their skills in ETT to real life TT. It’s a good practice for quick reaction though.
In a way you are right. It is easier. But it does exist irl even at top speeds. But the problems and solutions stay more or less the same. Irl you see it less in general because it is easier to generate other kinds of spin that are more deceptive and basically at a lower level it will just come out as a simple counter which is very easy to finish. Basically irl the level you need to do this serve with enough spin to be bothersome puts you at a level where it won't do much damage either because your opponents will be much better too. So since it is easier in the game it kind allows you to use it at a level that is lower than what it would be irl therefore doing more damage.
@@AlexTTBCN I have seen this video, fast long serve exist irl that’s for sure. What I am saying is what people do in ETT doesn’t exist. You can’t serve that fast and that low irl just like doing a forehand loop in ETT. If you use the same stroke in ETT to do a long fast serve irl. You will never get what you get in ETT. That’s why I think this shouldn’t be advocated.A lot of people even with ELO > 2500 in ETT use this and really think this is what TT should be.
@@xq3169 ELO higher than 2500? I thought that's more or less the cut-off point for it no longer working. Either way this video was made mostly to help people deal with it rather than do it. Did you see the follow up video on my channel? Even if it is stronger in ETT than in real life this serve is still not a very good idea. Also whatever parts of it are unreal will be removed as the simulation becomes more realistic. Currently the dev is set for doing another physics pass to make sure spin is produced in the right way, less overpowered without losing the correct arc in the flight of the ball. Even if this serve remains possible it is just an extra challenge to overcome in my opinion. Keeps the game open to more types of players (from real life and pure ett players).
@@AlexTTBCN I agree. Since I can’t do anything with it. It’s better to just adapt to it. For me, though it is not real but it still is a good practice.
I don't get how to spin it, I'm trying to serve like this but the ball can never spin like that I've tried loads of techniques backhand and forehand etc but the ball just doesn't spin for me
I am a semi pro table tennis player and I am playing this game for about a week. I loved it so far. But there is one big issue to fix in this game. İt is the serves. Some players only improved their serves . These serves are mostly impossible to return even if you are a experienced player. I called them cheap shots. These players only improved their serves but they play like sh.t in normal gameplay. I strongly advise the devs to correct this..
I used to play proffesional TT back in my 20's and this serve was never used irl. It was to easy to spot and respond agresively to it. But in EET seems to be unrealistically powerful and overused. It is so annoying to see players that don't have other skills besides this stupid serve. For me it came up to a point where if I see someone over using it I prefer to forfeit. It's just no fun.
Hmm, I get that. Do you find that this is the case for ranked play as well? This serve would be easily countered, right? I don’t own a VR system, but am thinking about getting one just for this game.

This is great. It we could get one on returning those crazy spin serves which bounce around and not knowing which way they will bounce.
Good idea 😊 taking note.
I’m getting virtual pin pong lessons from a cat , the future is awesome lol 😝
Very very good use of different camera positions. Makes the video a lot more interesting to see.
Love this game . Im playing on q2. Its such a great game. Landmark
Finally, tryharding on vr table tennis, what a time to live HAHA nice channel!

When is lesson 2
Nine times out of ten, a simple block wide to their forehand or backhand works as they are not used to receiving the ball back.

Is the game much better on quest 2 vs quest 1, I'm not sure if I shoukd upgrade just for this game or not? Love this game!
Can you explain what going under the 1.00 on the throw Coefficient setting and if it’s possible to get a long pip effect or something like that

i am currently using a Stiga carbon five stars in rl, is there a way to match it on the game with some specific settings ?
wonderful video ! do i need to be connected to pc to play the game or just quest 2 is enough?
Just quest 2 and the game is enough and currently arguably the best way to play it.

How on Earth do you get all of these different angles of the video??
You need to open the app on PC, either via steam or oculus pc

You are a semi Pro, you should not struggle with fast topspin serves.
Are you using standard paddle to make spins
😸✌🏻
What settings are you using on the ball machine to practice that?
