I’ve been playing for 5 years, never knew this trick! Many coaches and advanced players do not like to share. Thanks for revealing this to the world Adam!
you have to discover it yourself as you play with pingpong. We play horse pong a long haha. Meaning. we make different weird type of spins that we can come up with and realizes there's an actual name for it. The trick to oppose this is to immediately top spit as it bounces about
There was an ex-champion from China that coached my high school team some 25 years ago, that taught this serve. I was not on the team, so I never got hands-on instruction. I just stood by them and observed while they trained. I never understood it... After 25 years, I finally know the secret. Ah!
Lol hi, you here, i'm a competitive table tennis player, thats why i am here, you dont need this serve to win your mother unless she is getting better. 😅
Congratulations on your own new website. I’m so happy for you. You’re the best table tennis motivator. Thanks for this one in a million serve tutorial. I’ve seen a lot kind of serve tutorial but never this one.

Badam Abrow..... sorry head spinning Adam Bobrow you are the best and funniest table tennis teacher .......best part you probably did not even know that......my son is learning so much from.your videos......but above all life is FUN.
Thanks for that tip. I'm training the serve now and hope to have it somewhat ready once the team-practice starts again. At my level even if the movement not that fluent it could make me some points as its the deceptive opposite to my regular backspin serves.
@@vvvvvvv404 sadly it didn't fool anyone, might be because it is also very short and slow. nowhere close to what Adam does. maybe because i play non catapulty harder rubbers as more of a block player. but it was fun to try.
@@ragnarblackmane6024 That's what I thought (as a pure amateur) - you seem to need really soft rubber to get much of spin from a ball free-fall. And then, how to get any speed ?
I've actually used this serve, but you do it 1,000 times better. I used to toss the ball high and then let it hit the racket, creating some topspin. But I went down with the racket at contact just a little, so it ended up being a dead ball. I used to call this "heavy nothing" becuase I made a huge underspin motion but it was really dead. Now what you are doing is letting it hit your racket without moving, so instead of dead ball it becomes pure topspin. But even watching the replay, it is amazing but you are so quick to begin the downward motion that the eye cannot see it. It really looks like you are chopping the ball. Heck, you even fooled Timo Boll. You are world class at this.
I've been playing table tennis for 6 years, never knew that just from tossing the ball, it takes topspin at contacting the bat angled at 45 degrees... I'm betting that 90% of players don't know this tip!
From a physics standpoint, moving the racket upwards to do topspin or letting the ball fall down on the rubber is the same direction, if you think about it.
Thank you for this explanation. After misreading one opponents serve a number of times, I copied him and I learned this as a backhand service, but had never seen it done on forehand, and didn't think it could be done... Until now.
Brilliant video again bhaiya 😁🏓🔥 and that deadly serve of yours is my favourite 💯 imma practice this and gonna try in the next tournament for sure :p 🎉
I always made this serve (wanted to make a underspin serve) without knowing why the receiver always return the ball so high🤣 and know I finally know why it is a top spin and I’ll master it XD
