      Do a VR Table Tennis tournament with the your friends from your other videos could make for some good content. (you could make it so the opponents can choose each others bat setting as a little twist).
      Also a community VR Table Tennis tournament could be pretty fun too. and it would also be content if everyone participating recorded their game-play so you could have highlights from the games and also funny things said whilst playing.

    I honestly can't believe this game is real. So I use to play TT competitively and was ranked right around 1410. It took a little while to get use to playing this game in VR but overall I can say its the closest to the real thing I ever seen. I was literally blown away when I did a serve and it reacted exactly how it does in real life. Getting the table the proper height was a little awkward for me and I noticed that side spin was a little less then it seems like it should be in real life as well as flicking the wrist too fast some time the sensors don't pick it up. Other than that this is exceptionally close to the real deal. I think in about 2-3 years with VR technology improving I won't be able to tell a difference from real life. I can say for certain we are in the future.

  • @Spitflies
    @Spitflies 3 года назад +4

    Dang I can't believe how smooth that first game was considering the high ping. That's been the most difficult thing about this game for me, unless the ping is super low it's nearly impossible to return fast shots because by the time it registers on your screen the ball's already on your side of the table. Also super surprised you were able to pull off that behind the back shot because of the inside out tracking (cameras are only on the front of the headset), but I guess the quest 2 has great really tracking. That handle looks helpful too.

    • @soulnight1606
      @soulnight1606 3 года назад +1

      Try using either:
      1) ping compensation (it slows down the view of your own ball so that there is no mismatch when your opponent hit it
      2) or try instead the new "ping ball" which makes a 2nd ball appear right after you hit the ball. This is the ball that your opponent is seeing with the delay. This ball will be hit normally by your opponent.
      Cheers

    • @romanrekhler4029
      @romanrekhler4029 3 года назад

      also just to add to Soulnight's answer; I'd like to clarify. "by the time it registers on your screen the ball's already on your side of the table" is just an illusion of surprise. If you ever take a video of it, you'll see that the ball launches from the paddle hit on the other side of the table.

    Amazing vid as always and a great primer for anyone wondering what VR is all about and how real it can be!
    Like you Dan, I love the community which has been built around this game, so would thoroughly recommend the Discord and FB Group to anyone wanting to find out more! 👍🏻
    The development team are super approachable and very open to input from the community, which is one of the ways the game has become such a breath-taking simulation already.
    Very excited to see how things progress in the coming months, so pleased to have TableTennisDaily coming along for the ride!

    There is two things that I miss compared to real life TT:
    - the lack of ball feeling in the hand when hitting it (there is some vibration but it's not enough)
    - the lack of peripheral vision that helps you aligning your body and your arm to get the best of your shot (this will vary depending on the headset you have, I tried with the Valve index)
    Apart from that, the ball physics is spot on, so it's really enjoyable, but not as much as in real life ^^

    • @domothepilot
      @domothepilot 2 года назад

      @@mayankgupta2543 its still a vr simulation. there are definitely shortcomings. whether you notice them or even are disturbed by it, depends on your level of play. obviously it feels different if you change the momentum of a real ball vs. a bit of vibration in the controller.

    There's lots of "fake hits", in which the ball repositions itself to be closer to the paddle as you're hitting it. This is easily visible like at around 3:37, if you slow down the video. It's especially noticable in the behind-the-back shot at 5:47.
