Katie you are the most wholesome, amazing RUclipsr I have ever come across, and you have legit changed my life with these videos. Making soap has become a great creative outlet for me, and your Bob-Ross-esk outlook on making mistakes when making soap, because hey, even if it isn't exactly what you were hoping for, it's still soap... Well, I have general anxiety disorder, and I've dropped a lot of hobbies because I feel like I'm not good enough to continue trying, but your outlook assured me enough to not only try in the first place, but also to just come up with plans b, c, and d, just in case I blend past light trace, or a color doesn't turn out, or a scent accelerates more than I expect. You are incredible. Please keep doing what you're doing, because you are inspirational and you brighten the lives of everyone that watches your videos.
These videos are so relaxing and even comforting. I feel like I should just grab a cup of tea and some scones and watch these all afternoon. I love Katie’s bubbly carácter lol!
This is starting to get exciting ... well, more exciting. I've started collecting supplies and equipment. It'll be a little while before I'm ready to try making my first batch, but I can't stop watching the videos. They're addicting. I almost gave soap making a try back in 2016. I wish this series was available back then. I have a fondness for color, especially deep rich Earth tones. I'm really attracted to the multitude of colorful pattern possibilities with soap making. I was momentarily concerned when the previous video started talking about the pink layer. I'm not a fan of pink, but I found the color of the finished soap to be more towards the agreeable end of the pink range. I'll probably leave the TD out of that batch to darken up the colors a bit. I'm anxious to get the first two batches under my belt and try the drop swirl technique in this video.
Yesssss! Love this set of videos. If you could do a q&a while showing us how to package the soaps and clean up ( including dishes) that would be amazing.
I just ordered my supplies yesterday. I'm excited to try these things mid-July. I hope Katie makes more videos with more techniques for us to learn about.
I think now that you've done these videos now that you should do a LIVE Q&A. And see if anyone needs any help with anything. You done GREAT. I could've done it before but you give alot of details and I like that. Thank you.
Started making soap with the help of a couple of books. Your videos have really given a better understanding of the process. It's messy but so much fun.

I have watched these videos in a series about three times already and now I’m ready to print the PDF for the upgraded soapmaking list and while I’m on my flight to Disney, I will be making myself a shopping list and following all your instructions when I get home from Disney. I’ve made melt and pour soap before and I’m a very crafty person so I’m very excited to start making soup.
Finally received all of my ingredients and equipment in the mail. Trying my first batch tomorrow evening. Thank you sooo much for these videos. Sending gratitude and good vibes from Houston.
Katie - you are simply amazing! I've often thought how cool it would be if you had an in-person soap making class. I'd literally travel from Florida to come hear and watch from the best in the business. Your videos are what got me into soaping 6 months ago and I just love it. I've made close to 1,000 bars and have over 50 designs. So grateful for you and your super fun and informational videos! You've covered pretty much everything at this point. Thank you for being a shining light in the soap world!
I'm so excited to get started! I am waiting on my mica, my gloves, and my thermometer and then i will be ready to go. It has been quite the week and I could use a fun/calming distraction.
I mixed up a bunch of lye solution today, and just couldn't organize my thoughts to get started making anything tonight. I needed to see Mrs. Carson making soap today to relax my thoughts. Sorry that was all about me. You've done a great job teaching, and I think it's so generous of you to do this for new soapers. 🥰
I have made all three beginner soaps. The first came out the best. While the other 2 look good, they weren't "right." I hate learning curves! But I want to make beautiful soaps so bad, I'm going to keep at it! (I over blended the oils & lye so I had to "glop" my soaps into their molds-they didn't "pour") Thank you Katie for these videos!
First of all, watched every video! And thnxxxxxx for all the information! You are so kind! I have waited a year to start making soap, waiting for everything to get here, I am super excited! It’s been a very long while to get to making the soap, hope I get a good outcome! I am very grateful for your generosity! Love you!
After binge watching for the past 2 months every day I finally did it. Thank you so much for your encouragement Katie ( l feel that your are actually taking to me and just to let you know I answer you back 😂) I did not use your suggested micas as postage to Australia is taking forever, but you always say “ you do you “ and hey it worked, it’s not perfect but I’m proud of myself Thank you again for your words of encouragement and your positive outlook on life 👍😘
AHHH I'm so impatient! I ordered everything on Monday. Still waiting for some to even ship. D: But I'm so excited! I'm new but ambitious (and a sucker for making things more difficult for myself) so I also bought your soap frosting kit when your shop went live! I already have ideas for how to incorporate frosting into these beginner soaps so hopefully it works out. :) I'm so excited!!!
Hey Katie, I have been making soap for a while now (18 months full time) & run my own business online. Watching your beginner series has been a bit of a refresher tho for learning new little tricks (yes, still learning). I normally use oxides & liquid colourants, I have to try using mica I think, it looks great! Thanks so much! 😉
I have just watched all of the begginers seriers - I've made my first soap 3 days ago and I regret so much I didn't do it with You! My first lavender soap is now curing, it is okay but I added not enough mica so it has a color of lard (as my friends said). Sooo I'm going to do my second-first soap with You and I just can't wait
I would LOVE an embed video with details about your favorite mold suppliers, when to use CP vs M&P, color matching, mica dusting, storage, will they stick together... so many questions!! ❤❤❤
Ive been watching you for about 8 years now and your artistic talent is amazing (I'm a painter) but it's your positive attitude and sense of humor that keeps me watching, as well. I would love to see a review video of your top fragrance oils for beginners from Nature's Garden and Bramble Berry.
Katie, you've done a fantastic job so far with these instructional videos! You're supportive and kind in how you speak to everyone, reiterate the importance of following all safety protocols, and give ideas and instructions in simple terms so it's easy to understand! I applaud your choice to put your knowledge and expertise out there to teach others for free; it speaks to your kindness. I agree with several other people who commented below asking for a video about how to clean up afterwards. You did this well for the lye preparation, but I agree it would be helpful for people to hear and see some best practice for different types of water systems.
I made some molds for 2 bars out of corrugated plastic, the stuff yard signs are made out of. They have it at Michaels. There are youtube videos showing how to make the molds. They work really well, I love my 2 bar molds.
Learning what fragrances speed up tracing and which don't change it? I am really looking forward to trying soap making but don't like orange flavor so would ideally substitute fragrance in the first soap. But I have seen that in other videos that some of the fragrances can speed the solidifying considerably. Also, know how to mix fragrances could be very interesting and helpful as well! Thank you for taking time to put all the videos and preparation sheet together!

Thank you.
THEY ALL LOOK GREAT. YOU ARE A FUN PERSON TO WATCH AND YOU ARE VERY CREATIVE. I CAN'T STOP WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS. THANK YOU.
Honestly, anything! I’m loving your passion and enthusiasm! You are an absolute delight to watch. Thank you.
Started making soap with the help of a couple of books. Your videos have really given a better understanding of the process. It's messy but so much fun.
Katie: by now you should have made three bars!
Me knowing I have too many hobbies and hasn't been following along : 👁👄👁
so Yeah I am one of those fans.. Probably never making soap but find the whole process fascinating. And you really are the Queen of soap making. Thank you for sharing all your tips and tricks.
A video on troubleshooting and how to work with them is something I'd like
I have watched these videos in a series about three times already and now I’m ready to print the PDF for the upgraded soapmaking list and while I’m on my flight to Disney, I will be making myself a shopping list and following all your instructions when I get home from Disney.
I have zero intentions of actually making soap but I just love this channel and can’t resist watching
I would love to see exactly how you prep and do the soap icing on top of your soap. These videos are so helpful I love them xx
We just finished making the third one today. We have had so much fun we are tagging you. Can not wait to learn more!!!!
I'm so excited to get started! I am waiting on my mica, my gloves, and my thermometer and then i will be ready to go. It has been quite the week and I could use a fun/calming distraction.
Thank you for making this step by step design. What a great teacher you are!
Awesome videos! So inspirational. Do you cover your soap while waiting for it to set to be cut?
I mixed up a bunch of lye solution today, and just couldn't organize my thoughts to get started making anything tonight. I needed to see Mrs. Carson making soap today to relax my thoughts. Sorry that was all about me. You've done a great job teaching, and I think it's so generous of you to do this for new soapers. 🥰
Oh it looks like a painting Katie! I love it! ❤️ also bless you for offering people/new creators a free tutorial :)
I would LOVE to watch you make soap frosting and walk through the steps
I have made all three beginner soaps. The first came out the best. While the other 2 look good, they weren't "right." I hate learning curves! But I want to make beautiful soaps so bad, I'm going to keep at it! (I over blended the oils & lye so I had to "glop" my soaps into their molds-they didn't "pour") Thank you Katie for these videos!
I wish I had found these videos before buying a kit from BrambleBerry. These have SO MUCH more info (even including BB's videos). Thanks Katie!
Thank you so much for your encouragement Katie ( l feel that your are actually taking to me and just to let you know I answer you back 😂) I did not use your suggested micas as postage to Australia is taking forever, but you always say “ you do you “ and hey it worked, it’s not perfect but I’m proud of myself
Thank you again for your words of encouragement and your positive outlook on life 👍😘
AHHH I'm so impatient!
I got impatient on waiting for my micas and made one 🤣. It smells amazing! Im still really proud!
I am in love with the Tahitian Teal colour!!!
So satisfying to watch, but so much more fun buying soap from the shop!! Thanks for great shampoo bars, Katie, I won't use anything else!
I can't even watch other soap making videos anymore... yours are the best !
OOOOHHH and flower piping too!!
Katie we need a mini kit 😖 I just wanna make 2 bars stop playing with my feelings these soap designs looks amazing.
You can use a recipe calculator like Soapcalc.net to size down any recipe you want. My first batch ever was 10 ounces.
I made some molds for 2 bars out of corrugated plastic, the stuff yard signs are made out of. They have it at Michaels. There are youtube videos showing how to make the molds. They work really well, I love my 2 bar molds.
I make candles and am just venturing into wood wick candles! I would love to see you do a teaching video on wood wick candles!
I loved them, please do more tutorials so everybody interested on making soaps can learn from you, you are the best. congrats
Thank you I’m brand new and your seriously the BEST ! Love your energy ! You really inspire me !
🙋🏽♀️ Hi Katie and thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience in soap making. I have seen all the videos for this series and down loaded all the material you recommend for us to read before we start. As soon as I get all the supplies together I will definitely post up how am I soaps turn out. Thank you.

Would you consider making a exfoliating soap? Thank you again for this series. Please keep the videos coming.
Thank you for brightening my day An being a constant inspiration source!
Katie! Would you ever consider doing childhood movies from from the 90’s inspired soaps? Like Matilda, babe, thumbelina... so much nostalgia 🤩🥳
Thank you so much for doing the soap making series!
I’ve been watching you for the past couple of months and you inspired me to start making soap. Well melt n pour soap! I’m glad I have this series if I transition to cold process!!! 😆
