Connor, chickens have been regulary innoculated against salmonella for many years in the UK and Europe so Salmonella is much less prevalent now. Also our chickens are housed in far better conditions. The conditions caged birds are housed in in the US are considered shocking to most in the UK. The pate is a reference to the forced feeding of geese to make fois gras by making the livers grow unaturally large. This, together with veal, is considered by many to be a "cruel" food.

Sincere apols in advance for my possibly heavy-handed response; public reaction to any mention of ADHD can be rather dismaying. No food _causes_ ADHD, obvs as it's a genetically-driven, neurodivergent condition.😬 The name's misleading as many of us with ADHD aren't hyperactive _at all,_ nor are we unable to pay attention - just unable to *_regulate_* it - we're either sluggishly unengaged or hyper-focused for hours when a new topic sparks neural activity. Attention is the least of our daily challenges, tbh - it's our hidden symptoms which are effing hard, but rarely get any public attention. Apols again - your comment is clearly lighthearted - nerve hit. 🥴

There is more to the chlorine thing. Both US and UK agree birds have to be chilled quickly after killing. Because the US do it in cold water baths, they have to put stuff in the water to prevent contamination spreading from a bad bird to the rest, yup chlorine. The other way is to cold air chill them, which prevents bird to bird contamination, but is a lot more expensive.

There’s a RUclips channel that does American and British food comparisons (Dominoes, McDonald’s, Burger King etc) they compare portion sizes and availability as well as ingredients. Turns out our fast food is bit healthier than America in some aspects such as our pizza base at Dominoes contains just flour, water, yeast, salt and oil. American Dominoes has a whole load of other stuff. Even bread sold at Walmart or Trader Joe’s etc has more ingredients than our Warburton’s bread, store brand and other iconic bread manufacturers. I can’t comment on In ‘n’ out, Wendy’s, Chik-fil-A and Taco Bell as we’re only just getting them nationwide. (They’ve been relegated to places near the London area before they are rolled out nationally.) we have Five guys near where I live and I believe Popeyes are now open South England wide if not UK wide.

Doing another supply chain thing here, but a lot of food additives in the US are added to workaround the way US food supply chains are designed. The US, since Ford, has almost religiously followed the ‘scientific management’ style of industrial production. That style emphasises economies of scale at individual plants: a few big plants that are highly specialised. The trouble with that for food is that the US is big and so products need to move long distances from those plants to consumers. This requires more preservatives, emulsifiers, texture treatments, and colorants to make the product be ‘consumer ready’ once it gets on the shelves. This has been exacerbated by the ‘omnibus bill’/pork barrel style of legislation the US has and the frequent election cycles (politicians are incentivised to create policies that encourage big, specialised employers in their constituencies). This has frustrated efforts to move away from hub and spoke supply chains.
Especially since the Flixborough disaster in the UK in the 1970s, much of the rest of the world has shifted to decentralised, just-in-time supply chain models that mean shorter lead times. This has been a big driver behind the development of the EU single market.

It's bad enough putting toxic chemical additives into products like Skittles just to enhance the way it looks, but at least Skittles are multi-coloured, so the additives will have _some_ visible effect (by increasing colour intensity). However, putting the same chemicals into a brown chocolate swiss roll is just sheer stupidity. Chocolate is ALREADY brown FFS! What are they trying to do? Get the chocolate to glow in the dark or something? Those Little Debbie rolls looked the same as any other chocolate roll, so the entire colour additive exercise was a harmful and pointless waste of time.

In the UK pretty much all our chickens are free range, and i mean proper free range, also we have high standards in farming and animal husbandry, we even give salmonella inoculations to chickens. No chlorine bath for eggs and chicken, ever wondered why USA eggs in grocery stores require refrigeration? Its because of the chlorine bath, which over cleans the natural bacterial barrier that can allow eggs no need for refiguration. It doesn't mean we don't clean them once out of the chicken, but we make sure we don't destroy that natural barrier.

Reason Muslims dont eat pork is because it is written.😂. It actually made sense centuries ago because pork went bad pretty quick in their climate and was linked to disease. Same goes for other foods like certain seafoods etc. Circumcision was a matter of hygiene, these days useles for those with basic hygiene, back then it was not a bad idea. The washing before praying is also a matter of hygiene and benificial in general back then. A lot of these things made perfect sense and actually have nothing to do with religion but common sense of people recogninsing a patern, identifying a possible cause and take precautions... ....... yet now ofcourse it is written, and they gotta keep it up.

7:25 in the time when the rules for following religions in the middle east were put into writing, they didn't have access to refrigirators (obviously). Since pork is genetically pretty close to humans, it is for this meat more easy to have serious negative consequences for humans if consumed. It is therefor not a bad idea to not eat pork if you don't have a way to store it properly. In the 21st century it obviously has no basis in a modern society.

Those days a town had one main"street" and it was used as sink, shithouse etc... And pigs ate from it, though today pigs are feed like cows, chickens etc. and thats still their "reason".
    Love you Connor

It makes the yoga mat soft and bouncy and so too the bread so it stay softer and bouncy longer on the shelf. Pork was dangerous to eat in the old days as it keeps badly and easier brought sickness but they also considered pigs dirtier animals due to the way they live and both Muslims and Hebrews are religions that takes cleanliness very serious as a religious practice. You can just use safe dyes why take the chance

British pork is infinitely better than US pork. You would love our bacon.

Dry cured smoked back bacon is the best. Or better still, the really long strips of bacon with both back and the long streaky tail that doubles back round on itself.

The video isn't scientific and countries don't always take rational decisions concerning food regulation. The best example is the GMO ban in Europe, which isn't based on Science but ideology. You are right to be critical.

And bans work in both ways. In the USA Kinder surprises are banned because some kids died but in the EU it is fine to sell it.

American bread would be classed as a CAKE in the UK because of the amount of sugar it contains. (3 times the amount) !!
Pork is seen as UNCLEAN because pigs have cloven hooves and do not ruminate.
In Europe farmers have to look after their livestock . They are inoculated, fed better and kept in better conditions than in the USA.
SOUNDS LIKE YOUR " CONDITION" MAY BE LNKED TO THE AMOUT OF THE STUFF IN THIS VIDEO THAT YOU CONSUME ON A DAILY BASIS !!

I know you say sorry a lot, but why would you apoligize for your "Americaness"? You're from a country that brought the world a lot and despite it's black pages throughout history, it's a country to be very proud of.

😮 Connor ... How did you get to 30 and not know about pork ?! Back in the day, ovens were not as reliable for heating and cooking meats suffuciently to always destroy the tape worm larvae which can be found within pork meats. Therefore the larvae could be ingested and grow inside the bodies of anyone who ate the pork. If cooked thoroughly at sufficiently high cooking temperatures, the tapeworm larvae is destroyed thus preventing it from infesting people.
Hence the pork / pig ban by the ancient Jews who still, in this present day, continue the once _much-needed_ tradition, (even though modern cooking methods and high, 'standardised' temperatures much reduce the chances of tapeworm infestation).
I don't actually like pork (though I do like back bacon!) so, though I'm not Jewish,
    I don't eat pork 🐷either.
    But then, I really only like beef🐮 and chicken🐔, (lamb's okay🐑, but I like it the least😟!!). 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❤🖖

Don't worry, we ALL know that now you know it's literally killing Americans slowly, you will STILL eat that crap regardless. Your American, you can't help it it's just the lifetime indoctrination regarding food, consume consume consume.
Of course, you're not going to use the knowledge in the video to make changes to your diet and be more mindful what you eat but that's OK we still love you.
We have American candy shops in my country, and I tried what you call soda and nearly boked at how disgusting it was. I wouldn't touch any American food even organic because of the gmo's, you can't trust a single food product and that's quite scary.
At this point America is the test laboratory of the world, you are the case study, your food is killing you slowly and you all still lap it up, that's just terrifying to think about literal 300million+ lab rats.
    Still love you though.

The people pushing the ‘big scary word’ = bad thing annoy me. Everything is chemicals, and the formal names of even common natural cooking ingredients would terrify most people. Not to mention, as the saying goes, ‘the dose is the poison’. Even water has a lethal dose. That said, some things have no safe dose, or no practical one for consumer foods.
