I disagree with some of the negative comments. This was far more interesting than I expected it to be and had a great atmosphere. Thank you for doing it. I look forward to seeing the same route in daytime.
Very interesting as cab rides go. Loved the first few minutes intermingling with other trains in the station and then seeing the lights of the cities around us. Very nice video. Thank you.
Awesome Lori! Danke Schöen! Big fan of SBB and Basel 👍 "Nachtshalt... Basel SBB!" 😃 I have to admit I love the female voice who does the announcements on the trains and the BVB trams 😊
You should find a train which departs at about the time the sun has just setted . During dusk and twilight you have more detail in the surroundings and the balance of artificial and sky light is most pleasing .
Was the 420.2 modernised technically, or is it still the old fashioned traditional control systems? The lights at Olten look fantastic with the snowy ground. I love the feeling when you go out from the built-up area that you're plunging into a little world of your own.
Thanks. The locomotive still operates mechanically as it did before. A few things were added to make them compatable with the S Bahn Zürich rolling stock, like ep brakes and a new multiple unit control system.
I have just watched it again on a big screen in a dark room. There are so many things to see; the snowy ground showing our path, surprising patches of colour that last only a few seconds, bright stations standing out in the darkness. Wonderful!
@@Territet Thanks for that input. I've decided to make more of these in the future when the conditions are right. I will also fix the focus to prevent blurryness.
This was great - love the way the lights twinkle through the trees and the fences. Are the lights on the small stations on all night, or are they triggered by the approach of the train? We see very few wild animals in these cab ride videos through Switzerland - why is that? In a British equivalent video you would probably see the odd rabbit at least.
Lovely video, just came across this one on your channel right now. Night time is a different feeling only. Thank you for sharing, hope you can do some more! Just one question - what is the reason you switched on the cab lights while crossing trains in the opposite direction?
I wonder what the lights are for? You can't see far enough ahead to pull up in an emergency and in any case, the train is stuck firmly on the rails so you cannot take evasive action. Maybe it's just for phycological reasons - it is sort of comforting! Only joking! Mabe it is so the train can be seen. I can understand marker lights in the daytime.

Excellent video. The new high beam headlights (I think made by Mercedes are very powerful.
Hello, great video! Please add cabin speedometer Re 420 as well to see acceleration and how motor sounds changes with the exact speed steps.

Loved the night time cab ride, but i have a question -> why do u turn on & off ur cab light when there's a train passing by??
Thanks! To wave.
Great video! I enjoyed the night ride!
Thanks. As soon as I get a better lowlight camera I'd like to make some more.
@@lorirocks777 Nice one! I'll look forward to seeing them!

amazing night view !
Schönes Video
Just wondering; do the drivers need special training for running the nighttime services? 🐨🇦🇺
No, it's pretty much the same, there are a few extra rules though, but nothing major.

Thanks. Yes, I'm hoping to get a good low light camera for next time.
In Switzerland drivers wave at night, the light aasists in that
Great video :)

Fairytale landscape whit small well-lit stations

They're better than the camera makes you believe. But yes, on some trains they're less effective than a full moon.
they're so the train can be seen
excellent video ignore the negative comments
Thanks
👏👍👌
Wow
