I would love to see a comparison made with actual dollar amounts for windows only. Factor out the variance for installation, etc that are unique per house. Just pick a standard size and standard options that are available across all windows and give a good comparison. The world of windows is too confidential and no one has really covered this aspect in this way.
We do try to do this on our website, but it does become tricky based on the number of factors that all play into price -- I think the best way to get an actual retail price on a replacement window is to drive down to your local home depot and check out the list price on the windows they are selling. Mostly low end vinyl options, but it does provide a baseline price...
Hey there -- simonton makes a good window in their Impressions series and their Reflections 5500 series. Their bay windows are solid -- most companies send their "bay window" orders to one of three companies who make the bay box and then the company simply places their windows into the openings and voila, a bay window. Installation is key when it comes to bay windows as these are complex installs and there are plenty of places to screw them up. I would definitely suggest getting multiple bids as bay window price quotes can vary widely (just like with any more complex install).
